You just follow the instructions just like when you register a domain name. After a few minutes, after signing up for a web hosting account, you can already set up a Website.

I used DreamHost as the web hosting provider to illustrate to you how to sign up for a web hosting account. For one thing, DreamHost offers a free trial at the moment.

How to Sign Up for a Web Hosting Account

Proceed to DreamHost.

1. Supply the necessary details at the blank fields at the “Signup, Start your Free Trial!” page and click the button “Continue”.

2. Choose either of the two options at the “Signup, Pick a domain…” page and click the button “Continue”.

3. Choose any of the three free trial offers at the “Sign up, Pick a plan…” page and click the button “Continue”.

4. Supply the necessary details at the blank fields at the “Sign up, Account Contact Info” page and click the button “Continue”.

5. Supply the necessary details at the blank fields at the “Sign up, Just a little more…” page and click the button “Continue”.

6. Supply the necessary details at the blank fields at the “Sign up, Payment Info” page and click the button “Continue”.

7. Just click the button “Continue” at the “Sign up, Almost Done…” page.

8. Just click the button “Continue” at the “Sign up, Would you like to add a private server?” page.

9. Just click the button “Continue” at the “Sign up, Would you like to add…” page.

10. Just click the button “Continue to our web panel” at the “Sign up, Welcome to DreamHost” page.

11. Log in by supplying the necessary details that you used when you signed up at the “DreamHost Login” page and click the button “Log In”.

12. Click the button “Call Me” under “Welcome to your DreamHost Control Panel!” and “Approval Call” at the DreamHost Control Panel.

Once DreamHost calls and approves your web hosting account, you are done. You can now set up your Website.

So far, updating the sites once or twice a week is paying off. So, I am paying more attention to those sites than this blog. As I have written before, you have got to know your goals and priorities. Making money online needs a lot of effort, discipline, patience and perseverance. It needs good planning and goal setting. It is not just enough to sit in front of your computer and write content for your blog. Content is king but no matter how many articles you have written, you will not get a lot of traffic if you are not promoting your blogs.

Even if you get a lot of traffic but if your visitors do not click on the ads, links or banners, then you will definitely not earn. DreamHost is a web hosting company and offers an Affiliate Program. You can earn money from DreamHost if you refer a customer. You can choose to receive substantial one-time credits for each of your referrals, or recurring credits for every payment that your referrals ever make to DreamHost! As of this writing, for one time payment, you will earn $97 for each new customer that you send to Dreamhost, and each new customer that they send to Dreamhost will have you earn additional $5 more. For recurring payment, you will earn 10% of every payment that your referrals ever make and you will earn 5% of every payment that their referrals make for as long as they remain customers!

Bluehost

Bluehost is another web hosting company which also offers an Affiliate Program. You can earn money from Bluehost if you refer a customer to sign-up with Bluehost. As of this writing, you will receive from Bluehost $65.00 per referral.

Lunarpages

Lunarpages is another web hosting which also offers Affiliate Program just like Bluehost and DreamHost. The Lunarpages Affiliate Program works as a referral service. As of this writing, Lunarpages will reward you with $65 if you make a referral to its hosting plans!

So far, those are the affiliate and advertising programs that I have joined and explored. I will be exploring more affiliate and advertising programs in the next few months. There are still a lot out there that I have not tested yet. I might even try writing sponsored posts just to see how it works. I have to find out if it is really worth it writing sponsored posts.

If you plan to become an affiliate, make a plan and set your goals. Have a lot of patience, discipline, patience and perseverance. It is not going to make you rich overnight but it will pay off later on if you work for it. Work smartly to achieve your goals.

What is the Amazon Associates program?

Let me quote Amazon: “Amazon Associates is one of the first online affiliate marketing programs and was launched in 1996. The Amazon Associates program has a more than 12 year track record of developing solutions to help website owners, Web developers, and Amazon sellers make money by advertising millions of new and used products from Amazon.com and Endless.com. When website owners and bloggers who are Associates create links and customers click through those links and buy products from Amazon.com or Endless.com, they earn referral fees.”

I have yet to fully explore this affiliate program. As of now, I have not even earned from this affiliate program. It seems easy to use but you really have work hard on this affiliate program for you to be able to earn because you can only earn if your visitors make a purchase using your referral link.

The concept of the Amazon Associates affiliate program is not the same with Pay-Per-Click advertising program. You may have 100 clicks but you would not even earn from those clicks unless your visitors make a purchase from the links you created.

To create a link and to add content to your site, you can customize the Links and Banners, aStore and Widgets that you can browse and select at the Amazon Associates site once you signed up or joined the Amazon Associates program. Signing up with Amazon Associates affiliate program is free.

I highly recommend that after you signed up with Amazon Associates, access the Associates Central, and join the Discussion Boards for tips on how to effectively earn from advertising Amazon products.

What is In-Text advertising?

Again, let me quote Infolinks: “In-Text advertising is a method of online advertising that inserts text link advertisements within the content of a website. What is Twitter?

Twitter is a real-time short messaging service.

Twitter is an online community and a sort of micro-blogging site where you can write short messages to stay connected with friends, relatives and coworkers. It is easy to follow the messages in Twitter because you are only allowed to write 140 characters.

In Twitter, anyone can follow you and you can follow anyone.

What is Sponsored Tweets?

Sponsored Tweets is a Twitter advertising platform that connects Twitter advertisers with tweeters or Twitter publishers.

What is Sponsored Tweets for Advertisers?

Let me quote Sponsored Tweets: “Advertisers can create sponsored conversations on Twitter.”

What is Sponsored Tweets for Tweeters or Publishers?

3. Enter your email address or Twitter username.

4. Enter your Twitter password.

5. Click the Allow button.

You will be redirected back to Sponsored Tweets.

6. Check the box for “I’m a tweeter” since you are a Twitter publisher who would like to make money with Twitter and Sponsored Tweets.

7. Enter your account details.

Step One: You’ve successfully signed up.

Step Two: Your Twitter account must be at least 60 days old, have at least 100 followers and 100 status updates to be visible in searches to advertisers. However, advertisers can still explicitly make you offers.

You can promote Sponsored Tweets and when a Tweeter or Publisher signs up using your referral link or badge, you will receive 10 percent of Sponsored Tweets portion of revenue for each successful transaction that Tweeter or Publisher makes. If you sign up an Advertiser you will earn 5 percent of Sponsored Tweets earnings for each transaction they make.

What is Twitter?

Twitter is a real-time short messaging service.

Twitter is an online community and a sort of micro-blogging site where you can write short messages to stay connected with friends, relatives and coworkers. It is easy to follow the messages in Twitter because you are only allowed to write 140 characters.

In Twitter, anyone can follow you and you can follow anyone.

What is Ad.ly?

Ad.ly is an in-stream advertising platform connecting Twitter publishers with Twitter advertisers.

What is Ad.ly for Advertisers?

Let me quote Ad.ly: “Ad.ly enables advertisers to reach the highly sought-after Twitter audience by connecting brands with the most influential people in the community.”

What is Ad.ly for Publishers?

Again, let me quote Ad.ly: “Ad.ly enables Twitter publishers to make money from the content they produce on Twitter by sending one tweet every day from advertisers that they approve. In order to ensure authenticity, every Ad.ly tweet is explicitly approved by the Twitter publisher. The publishers are able to set the price they want advertisers to pay and can optionally donate their earnings to charity.”

You can earn money from Ad.ly if an advertiser will get you to promote its message. If you are not an influential Twitter user with thousands or millions of followers, you are most likely not going to get any advertiser on your Twitter account.

If you would like to make money online with Twitter and Ad.ly Ads, you need to work for it.

If you would like advertisers to get you to promote their messages, you need to have more followers.

Even if you have a lot of followers in Twitter but you have not signed up with Ad.ly yet, then you will not be able to make money online with Twitter via Ad.ly Ads. You need to sign up with Ad.ly first.

How to sign up with Ad.ly?

1. Go to Ad.ly.

2. Click Sign Up with Ad.ly button.

Are you a Twitterer or Advertiser?

3. Click the Twitterer button to sign up as a publisher.

You will be redirected to another page.

4. Enter the email address you would like to use with Ad.ly.

5. Enter the password you would like to use with Ad.ly.

6. Confirm your password.

7. Click the Sign Up & Continue button.

You will be redirected to another page, to a Twitter page asking for authorization.

Authorize your Twitter account by clicking the button below.

8. Click the Authorize Twitter Account button.

You will be redirected to a Twitter page for authorization.

An application would like to connect to your account.

The application Ad.ly Network by Ad.ly Inc. would like the ability to access and update your data on Twitter. Not using Twitter. Sign up and Join the Converation.

9. Enter your email address or Twitter username.

10. Enter your Twitter password.

11. Click the Allow button.

You will be redirected back to Ad.ly.

12. Set your Account Details.

Supply your answer on the fields for About you, Country, Category, and Set Your Price.

13. Finally, click Complete Sign Up button.

You will be redirected to another page.

Welcome to Ad.ly!

That’s it!

Ad.ly has a referral program too. Click the Referral Program button beside your email address at the top area. You can use the referral link that Ad.ly has provided you.

You can promote Ad.ly and when someone signs up using your referral link, you will earn 12 percent of everything they make on Ad.ly.
