That’s right, Possible Oscar is returning to our hometown convention MarsCon March 1-3, 2013 to celebrate 10 years of the MarsCon Dementia music track. Full details can be enjoyed over at marscondementia.com. We are scheduled to kick off the festivities at 9:00PM on Friday night.

To help transport and lodge this year’s slate of artists, we are once again featured on the annual MarsCon Demetia Track Fund Raiser CD set. This set features three discs of live performances from MarsCon 2102. All proceeds from sales go to subsidize the travel costs of the artists, so get over there and buy it already!

We had two new original songs released in 2012 that are eligible for nomination. We humbly ask that if you deem either worthy of recognition, please nominate it. Those songs are:

“Get Our Geek On”
“Underboob”

If you feel neither of those songs is up to snuff, by all means nominate another of our contemporaries instead. No hard feelings.

Our concert is scheduled against the Masquerade, so we decided to host our own costume contest. Get dressed up in your Saturday finest and be ready to participate in our POscarade contest. There will be prizes!

What this means is that we will have a new T-shirt available at CONvergence this year. We’ll get the shirt online for ordering shortly after we get them in stock. Per the parameters of the Garage Sale, the shirts will be in a variety of colors not of our choosing. Pricing has yet to be determined, but given our minimal production costs — not zero since our own time is worth something — we’re betting the price will be a bargain. Here’s a sneak peek mock-up of the shirt as modeled by… oh, let’s call him Sven.

As a promotion for the show, we prepared this short commercial.

In addition to YouTube, the commercial will air on the closed-circuit hotel television, dubbed CVG-TV. Look for it throughout the weekend.

Food. Shelter. Fire. Man requires these things for life. But man also craves another thing that, while not essential for survival, certainly makes the whole struggle a bit easier to endure. We’re talking about boobs. Jugs. Sweater stretchers. There are at least 99 words for them. And all it takes is a little tease to set our imagination in motion.

This doesn’t mean the end of Possible Oscar. Obviously we need to figure out what to do about our lineup for live performances, but since nothing is booked on that front for a while, we have some time. As far as recording goes, the magic of the Internet will allow Nathan to still participate in that. We have several songs in various states of readiness for the next album. Look for Nathan’s unmistakable presence on new tracks in 2012.

And now we begin our annual holiday hibernation. Expect only sporadic activity for the remainder of 2011. Happy Holidays!
