As the weather hots up this week you might fancy the idea of having a beer or two and a few sizzling sausages outside? Well if you’re in need of a new barbeque then you might want to consider any of these popular models below.

Always bear in mind how much cooking space you’ll need. A small barbecue isn’t best if you’re going to be cooking burgers and chicken for a group of family and friends. And don’t forget to look after your barbeque …keep it in a shed or garage over the winter whenever possible.

Cappuccino Barbecue

Part of their Cappuccino collection, this M&S stainless steel, barbecue features a classic kettle design, removable grill and integrated shelf. The tripod legs should offer a stable setup too.

It’s available in a choice or red or grey.

Available for home delivery only.

Find out more.

Weber Barbeques

Weber offer a wide range of barbeques that use either charcoal or gas.

The one pictured is called the Performer and it’s a charcoal BBQ that uses one-touch gas ignition to light the briquettes.

Many of the Weber models offer a one-touch cleaning system; thermo plastic handles that stay cool; crack-proof materials and all-weather wheels.

You can see a wide range of Weber barbeques and accessories at John Lewis.

Bucket Barbeques

These bucket barbecues are cheap, cheerful and often come in bright colours!

They can have folding legs on the bottom and have a carry handle. As they’re small they’re not really suitable if you’re planning to cook for several people, but great if you fancy an impromptu burger down on the beach with a friend.

Be careful when you pack up of course as the bucket may still be hot.

Widely available from various high street store including John Lewis.

Masonry Barbecues

Fancy something a little more contemporary? How about a masonry barbecue like this one pictured. It’s called the Curve and it’s available from Homebase. This would great in a smart patio garden for instance.

There was a great story going around the news sites last week about the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and supermarket sausages!

Apparently, Mr Putin halted a meeting with senior Russian retailers to take them to a supermarket to show them how expensive sausages were. Mr Putin was angered to see some sausages priced at 240 roubles when other were just 49 roubles. Despite being told the more expensive bangers were premium meat Mr Putin suggested that they were still too expensive.

Critics suggest Mr Putin was just pulling a publicity stunt to demonstrate that he is aware that inflation (running at about 14%) and that it’s not the Governments fault – rather it’s greedy retailers charging too much.

Either way, it’s hard to envisage our very own Mr Brown complaining about the price of his premium chipolatas.
