Serato and Stones Throw have teamed with the J Dilla Estate for the official J Dilla Serato release, Donut Shop. This is 2 discs with six J Dilla tracks, 2 sides with Serato Control Tone (for use with Serato Scratch Live DJ software), and 2 donut slipmats in a package designed by Studio No.1. The J Dilla tracks consist of three previously unreleased instrumentals selected by J.Rocc from the Dilla archives – “Safety Dance”, “Sycamore”, “Bars & Twists” – and three unreleased instrumental versions of Dilla’s production for Mos Def, Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes, each remastered by Elysian Masters who mixed and mastered J Dilla’s Donuts, The Shining and Ruff Draft albums. by Stones Throw

All things considered, the first installment of the NYC related AF1s is… you guessed it… super dope.  Extremely anxious to see who the next collaborators are for the remaining four boroughs.

It truly doesn’t get nerdier than this.  adidas previewed their Tron collaboration last week at San Diego’s Comic-Con (which may be the biggest geek haven around.  Secretly, this poplemon has always wanted to go… full video gamer girl’ed out).  What’s extra fresh about these kicks lies within the reflective strips that give off an appearance of light, as well as the glow-in-the-dark stitching which echos the Tron suits in the movie.  The thing that sucks, ladies, is that adidas will be releasing their Tron collection in December, 2010…. for men only.

If there’s one thing I love more than my future husband, John Legend, it’s The Roots.  Since working together, the band and song master have created a full length album, Wake Up,  which is scheduled to drop in September.

One of the absolute best tracks on The Roots‘s ninth full length album is The Fire which features my man has yielded a super dope video, which you can check out below.

It’s been a minute since PopLemon featured a throwback video, and this is one of my favorite summer songs…. Mostly because, well, ice cream is good in the summer.

Recently, Pharrell admitted to asking a fourth member to join the group – R&B songstress Rhea, who’s debut album features Pharrell‘s production exclusively.

Black and white polka dots will never go out of style and have remained a consistent element in women’s wardrobes for decades and across all borders. 

Nike comes correct with a black two-tone set of Nike Dunk Highs which feature shiny and rather large dots around the entire shoe which contrast the sleek and smooth leather around the midsole, tongue, and heel.

Perhaps I’m simply a Married to the Mob hater, but these high tops have left me fairly unimpressed.  While the gold detailing within the metal snaps and grommets and stitching may work for some, it seems a bit gaudy and awkward… Plus, I fucking hate when companies turn their logo into the pattern without thinking their decision through.  Overall, boring.

One may think, upon first look, that the latest set of colorways in Puma‘s First Round line resemble some sort of confused technicolor dreamcoat accident, however there are a few things which make these high tops stand out.

The first is the quilting, which adds a sense of texture and also another contrast between the typical Puma waves and the balance of the design.  The quilting is carried through using a rainbow-esque thread which helps brighten the black colorway and also deepen the blue and purple colorways.

Second, the colors are absolutely phenomenal and will catch even the most distracted person’s eye.

One thing though… the stock laces have got to go. All in all, a nice high top from Puma, which seems to be a rarity.
