Jeremy Scott + adidas :: teddy bears

Uhm. I really don’t even have words for the latest effort from Jeremy Scott and adidas. The two teamed earlier this summer to create some kicks with wings which were actually pretty solid and inventive.

However… teddy bears don’t belong on your feet and these kind of remind me of some sort of candy kid nightmare from the rave scene in the early 90s. If ever there was a WTF moment in shoe-wear, this would be it.

Nike Women’s Court Force Hi :: wolf grey + solar red + dark grey

There are very few more interesting colorways than a fairly monochromatic design with a splash of primary color, and Nike‘s latest pair of Court Force His deliver exactly that. In addition to the grey tones, black, and white are nicely offset by a red underlay which is covered with a dark grey rubber geometric pattern.

Not too bad, Nike. Not too bad at all.

Raekwon + Kanye West + Justin Bieber :: Runaway (remix)

A few weeks ago, Kanye expressed his love and appreciation for Justin Bieber via his Twitter account – including an open invitation to collaborate together. Who knew that Raekwon would be involved as well?

A few notes:

How hard is it for Raekwon to rap over an old Wu-Tang beat? Where’s the innovation?

Justin Bieber sounds like a chipmunk.

Overall, if I heard this shit at the club, I may or may not vomit.

Che Grand :: Get On Your Job + Man Myth Legend (Fixtape 2 mixed by Dj Low Key)

Che Grand is a fucking monster. Along with being one of my personal favorite mountain adventure buddies, he’s simply a beast on the mic and absolutely intricate with his words. The Fixtape 2 is his latest work of art (scheduled to drop next week) and mixed by my good friend, Dj Low Key and has been widely anticipated by yours truly (and features Von Pea and Donwill from Tanya Morgan, and more). As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that both of these fellas are pretty sick of hearing me ask them about when this shit is dropping. It’s almost time! Color me exited like a 4-year old on Christmas Eve.

Be sure to check out the two leaks below. Man Myth Legend brings a new cadence to Che than I’ve ever seen and causes an almost mosh pit meets Tron reaction at first listen. Get On Your Jobt is more of a legacy type Che joint which allows his lyrical mastery to shine.

Women’s Air Jordan 1 Retro High GS :: white + vivid pink + neutral grey

Pink and grey are perhaps the most classic colorways in the history of women’s shoes. Even the most plain granny shoes typically have a bit of grey with a splash of pink thrown into them. I’m not a huge fan of Air Jordan‘s for women in general, but this set of Retro High GS seem to do the trick.

The vivid pink stitching contrast on the midsole provides a bit of color around the darkest part of the shoe. Quite frankly, this shoe looks pretty similar to modern day Dunk Highs.

Forbes :: Hip hop cash kings 2010

Forbes has released their list of top earning hip hop stars this week and it’s little surprise that Jay-Z is wearing the crown of the kings listed. According to Forbes, Hova will owe about $22M in taxes for 2010, which is a little more than pocket change for most.

There are a few surprises in the list, including Akon who really hasn’t done too much lately… and also Kanye, who apparently could borrow a few dollars from Pharrell.

Nike Air Troupe Mids

Nike‘s Air Troupe Mids were designed with female hip hop dancers in mind… however, the hole in the heel doesn’t do much, except allow ankle movement from the expandable ankle band.

The colorway isn’t horrible, but the back leaves a lot to be desired. Who wants to go home with club grime on their ankle after a long evening on the dance floor, anyway?

Jay-Z :: Power remix, Decoded, All Black Everythings

Jay-Z is going to be pretty busy during the dog days of summer.

Kanye West announced yesterday that a remix of his latest track, Power will drop tomorrow, which features his non-blood big brother, Mister Carter himself.

In addition, Hov plans to release a 336 page memoir called, Decoded on November 16th, which will chronicle his life and also include interviews from the people who are closest to him. Decoded has been three years in the making and the prior release of the book has been stalled to unknown reasons.

So, Hov has given us something to read and something to listen to… and has also given the fellas something new to rock. Jay-Z has teamed with Nike to create a limited edition pair of Air Force 1s which are fondly known as All Black Everythings. In the true definition of “limited edition,” only five pairs are being made, which is representative of the five countries that are participating in the World Basketball Festival in New York next week. Interested in picking up a pair? Click here, but be warned – these kicks will cost you a pretty penny. Proceeds will go to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
