It happened to be Brent Teichman’s birthday. He was beside himself with enthusiasm and was even allowed the opportunity to introduce Chris to the audience. Though none was necessary, I think he did a great job of honoring the moment. From this photograph, one would think they were old friends. Are those matching ties?

Though there are many local personalities, few are as fearless as Chris. You can catch his podcast or listen to him live each morning at the link above.

If you haven’t read my previous post yet, you might want to check out what is going on… Basically, I’m at CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Committee’s yearly hootenanny. It is living up to all hype and exceeding expectations. In fact, the Boston Globe *may* have put it best, interestingly enough. Read here.

You would expect the usual suspects. There was Mitt Romney. For me, though the slick and finely tuned speech was delivered beautifully, he fell flat. Nothing can shroud the inaccuracies of a fool gone astray with Government-sponsored Massachusetts heath care reform, now swimming in bankruptcy as it’s Chief-RINO utters to a captive audience:

Strong families will have excellent healthcare. Getting healthcare coverage for the uninsured should be accomplished at the state level, not a one-size-fits all Pelosi plan. The right way to rein-in healthcare cost is not by making it more like the Post Office, it’s by making it more like a consumer-driven market. The answer for healthcare is market incentives not healthcare by a Godzilla-size government bureaucracy!

You can read the complete text of the speech at The Daily Caller.

Facts suggest that state level intervention, sponsored and passed by Mitt Romney, is a failure as well. Until Romney comes clean on the failures and his exact reference in regard to “reform,” I cannot get over the hypocracy. When all Conservatives stop trying to intervene and speak only in terms of reform to cut cost and create a system driven by doctors and patients, I am out to lunch.

I think, overall, my annoyance lies in the constant vieing for attention and Presidential ego. It’s no wonder since all media coverage is speculative of the 2012 frontrunners and their latest maneuvers. One example: Politico, “CPAC embraces the new Mitt Romney.”

I realize the groundwork is laid early. However, this forum is more the benefit of the speech given by Dana Loesch of St. Louis. Why? Because it wasn’t about her. It was about giving advice to a population who seem teaming at the bit to continue momentum into a strong 2010 message delivered in a crisp white envelope to Washington in a few short months.

Once video is posted, I’ll be sure to update this post, however, the summary of her message was to get out of your seat, be unafraid in your opposition — talk about it. Gather together and leave “no patriot behind.” When we are attacked, we lift them back up with our collective efforts. “It isn’t an easy fight.” Yet, her tone was just right for the moment… bright and encouraging with the urgency we must embrace if we are to continue. Yes, we’re jubilant in success, but not congratulatory and boastful. We want to continue with the people’s passion.

The reason I know Dana is where we should be casting our attention… did you see the last paragraph of the first-posted “read here” above?

Yes… this is a quiz.

So, I’m here. Somehow I’ve scored a pass to the Bloggers Lounge. Some of the most influential writers and thinkers of this movement are sitting around me. I hope some of their brilliance rubs off.

But what does that mean? I’m in the blogger’s lounge… It’s a dedicated, fully functional “office” – digs that clearly the traditional media folks are wishing they had. In fact, the traditional media lounge is 1/6th the size of the bloggers lounge and does not have a view of the speakers podium. I think I’ll just show you what bloggers lounge is like:

Here I find myself in the throws of Blissdom. Surrounded by engaged, smart “mommies” who wish to make their passions into a business, big or small. Being here as a “political” blogger is dicey, at best. Frankly, many Moms are far more engaged in everyday conversations to get through the many responsibilities they juggle. Conversations highlighting political punditry are not priority numero uno. I can say, however, that never do they judge my considerable passion (bordering on problem) for the daily news and its impact.

I, however, feel a small amount of personal satisfaction being here at Blissdom. Last year, with one post on a tiny blogger blog, with an idea in my head, I registered and blindly flew to Nashville searching for information. My best friend lives in Nashville. If it didn’t work out, I would have, at the very least, been able to know her children more deeply and share a beer over some appetizers. However, it did work out. A year later, I guess… I am a Blissdom success story. At least in my own mind.

Last year, I went home and began registering and protecting my idea. I launched it and I own it. That means, at times, it takes a backseat to my job, my husband and my children. It also means that I knew from the very start that the balance remained solely in me and for me. I need not be anything other than me.

A year later…

Smart Girl Nation airs live at RFC Radio and is also available for download from iTunes.

It is a personal joy to be able to work with many smart, amazing conservatives who wish to make information more readily available thereby acomodating the busy lives we all lead. If you disagree with my perspective, I am open to the continuing dialog. I find rich discussion always leads to a deeper understanding. If you wish to stick around, subscribe! You’re gonna love the new look I’m working on. I’ll be rolling out the new Mommentary to include all things digital.

If’ you’ve been around awhile…thank you. This fun, fulfilling ride is only made possible through your participation and encouragement.

Well, if you tried to watch my Momtv show you found out that technology can be tricky with webshows. Basically, your support was so overwhelming that we crashed the system. It was delayed and upset the entire time. Therefore, let me share with you a Teaparty sentiment that I hope you embrace and allow to fan the flame of the Conservative movement. We cannot be beholden to any Father, only on the guiding wisdom of Forefathers.

Here is a video from today’s “backyard” Teaparty:

P.S. The amazing speaker was Paul Curtman, of Youtube fame, for calling out Missouri Senator, Claire McCaskill, requesting her apology for trashing our constitution. He is running for Missouri State Representative. I say, bring it Paul!

Photos from Lafayette County: {It was 13 degrees, this is the real deal folks}

PHOTOS

In tribute to the teaparty, I decided to mock Al Gore’s doomsday poem he produced to further exploit his personal cash cow: climate change. I hope you enjoy it:

GORE POEM: UNGORE POEM:

One thin September soon Two full December moons

A floating continent disappears A vast majority did cry

In midnight sun In protest

Vapors rise as Their voices did rise

Fever settles on an acid sea Fever against lies

Neptune’s bones dissolve Statism dissolves

Snow glides from the mountain The mountain of legislation removed

Ice fathers floods for a season Rules flood the power machine

A hard rain comes quickly A teaparty comes quickly

Then dirt is parched Then the dirtbags are unhinged

Kindling is placed in the forest Kindling is placed in their hearts

For the lightning’s celebration For the Forefathers celebration

Unknown creatures Truth be known

Take their leave, unmourned Senators take their leave, unmourned

Horsemen ready their stirrups Patriots ready to stand

I hope to join with you in 2010 to continue this momentum.

There have been some exciting additions to the Mommentator repitoire lately. As they unfold, it takes some time to get them up and ready for you. I am glad to see you are all hanging in there as my blog has been a little neglected lately. However, I would like to aprise you of latest developments:

NOTEWORTHY: I am now a co-hostess for Smart Girl Nation, which is a weekly, one-hour radio show which highlights Conservative issues in the same format as The View (except, clearly, with more intellect.) Smart Girl Nation is a project for Smart Girl Politics and produced by TakeThat! Radio. My co-hosts are Teri Christoph, @decidedlyright, co-founder of Smart Girl Politics and blogger at Smart Girl Nation. Also, Kathleen McKinley, @RWSparkle, who authors the blog rightwingsparkle and also writes for the Houston Chronicle, Newsbusters and others. I am humbled to be included in this exciting endeavor and hope you will tune in. There are many options available for keeping up with the Smart Girls…

1. You can listen to the podcast aired “live” at Radio For Conservatives. We are on the schedule at 9 Central on Tuesday nights. Just visit the site and click on the icon in the header, “listen and chat.” You will find yourself in a chat room full of wickedly smart conservatives all laced with a bit of snark. This is your online “Cheers” where “Everybody Knows Your Name.”

2. You can listen to the podcast on TakeThat! Radio. Simply visit our page here. Click on the Audio/Mp3 icon and listen.

3. You can download the podcast from ITunes (search SmartGirl Nation) and take it with you!

As a tech idiot, wanna-be, I encourage you to see this as proof positive that all things are possible.

Additionally, this week, I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of other fabulous radio/podcast productions. Check them out!

1. Funhouse.us

Eric Morris is firing up the Conservative internet scheme by featuring a bi-monthly podcast, in round table format, of some of the best rising Conservative commentators. I somehow managed to be a part of an awesome discussion this week with: Jimmy Bise, Media Lizzy, Dr. Melissa Clothier and of course, Eric. Check it out here.

2. Jenny Erikson

Jenny, is the author of the blog Candid Conservative and host of the Smart Girl Report. Her content is amazing with very interesting guests. As a fun segment, she has invented “Healthcare Jeopardy” which has included myself, Michelle Moore (@Michelle_Moore, @_metalbabe) and Thomas LaDuke (@irishduke). These antics in our second installment are a must for your listening pleasure.

3. Tabitha Hale – Pink Elephant Pundit

If you don’t know Tab, you might have just woken from a slumber so deep, you have grown a long white beard like Santa. Tabitha’s weekly podcast covers all things Conservative, and her lovable Southern charm is entwined with direct wit and interest. Don’t miss it!

This guest post comes from a friend of mine. Russell Kruse is an attorney in a neighboring small town, engaged in a varied practice of law, much like my husband. He became a friend through our mutual participation in our County Central Committee. He actively speaks out against progressive agendas.

I wanted to put his post here because he believes, just like I do, that  the announcement {ironically/painfully on the HEELS of Breast Cancer Awareness month} flies in the face of reality and speaks to a murky churning in the water that Republicans warn about: managed care.  This is no more a revelation than a prime example of how liberties will be taken with YOUR HEALTH in order to drive down cost.  You may wish to believe we live with substandard care when IN FACT we only now face high cost of care.  Cost containment, utilization management and primary care are all great examples of real life solutions.  I vehemently urge you to consider this  road which the Democrats in Congress find appropriate: government rationing. Background story from MSNBC {no less}

President Obama’s medical czars recommend that women in their 40’s no longer get any annual mammograms or breast cancer exams, and that women in their 50s cut their annual exams to alternating years. This bureaucratic recommendation flies in the face of decades of medical recommendations from the American Cancer Society, and my grandfather, father and sister, all of whom were/are practicing primary care M.D.s. Obamacare says that such screening only saves 1 in 1,900 lives of women in their 40s and only 1 in 1,300 lives of women in their 50s, and results in unnecessary costs for many cancer free biopsies. Obama’s first death squad committee has decided that saving those middle aged women is too expensive.

My mother was that one in 1,900 women in her 40s who was saved by this screening and early treatment, to lead a cancer free life, and see her grandchildren. Under Obamacare, she would have died of breast cancer at age 45.

This is just the first bitter taste of Obamacare’s medical care rationing. Breast cancer is a very common, but treatable cancer, if detected early. Women are the first victims of Obama’s arrogantly and incompetently run health care system. Obama wants to substitute his czar’s judgment for that of your practicing doctor and even the American Cancer Society!

Obama took offense this summer about rumors of death squads deciding people’s medical care. Yet his first death squad was already at work, making its recommendation before the Senate even voted on government health care.

Tell your Senators Bond and McCaskill you won’t stand for this type of arrogant, incompetent medical treatment.

Russell J. Kruse,

Concordia, MO

Women: This post which was brilliantly produced by my friend Danielle Smith is how we OUGHT to be encouraging women. Please be sure to take the time to watch it , I find her courage and willingness to encourage others inspiring.

I hope you will have the courage to tell Congress that we must start anew. Refresh this issue with facts. Bathe it in solutions that have WORKED elsewhere and pass legislation *not* in haste and for political prowess, but rather for the long term success of our nation, with our citizens well cared for.

For fairness sake: the Administration through HHS Director Kathleen Sebelius went on the record late today encouraging {back-peddling} women to begin scans at 40. You can read that story here. This isn’t the back and forth of private sector vs. the Government. This was a government task force’s finding that was sent out into the public as a means test. It failed. Now they scramble.

You ready for the back and forth of what the Administration will say and what they will put into the mouths of their “panels” or “task forces” in determining every aspect of your care? They are testing the water to find what they can get away with, just as they did with the HC bill in Congress, and then they will swiftly act.

Are you on the phone with your Senator yet?

I *get* it, the majority of Americans don’t find politics intriguing, therefore they downplay its significance and tell themselves that their attention is better focused on truly self-relevant pursuits. If they do tune in on the 5 o’clock they will find the Main Stream Media (MSM) throwing out the talking points and accept them as the truth. Thus is true with my latest revelation, that while I am aware that most will find this to be an insignificant detail, it’s just lively embodiment of the fact that all political machines are lying to us, we accept it and we therefore receive more of it.

You may have heard of this little faux pas:

Fox News Blog

To which the Obama Administration replied, and the vast majority accept:

Protocol?

Judge for yourself:

I realize the actual outcome could mean very little as time goes on. But consider this:

* This Administration is, in fact, inexperienced, as was suggested previously.

* This Administration is capable and comfortable with lying to you, insinuating that you are too stupid to consider the alternative to their lines or apathetic to it.

* This Administration is not the Internationally strong powerhouse of influence that you may have been wishing for. In fact, in light of the fact that they can’t take a stand on such an insignificant fact, are you willing to entrust your future security to such mishandling?

If nothing changes, and by that I mean your willingness to invest, we can continue to expect lying and manipulation. Maybe three years from today, no one will remember the BOW heard round the world, but what would be remembered is political courage vast enough in it’s influence to require the elected to check themselves before they throw out blind spin and ask us to lap it up like dogs.
