Hey folks, how is it going? Hope you're all doing great and in good shape. So what's up with MacArthur gym? Oh well same old news, still not available. Anyway, last Saturday we were able to play basketball in Florida City and we all had fun. We'll again visit the place this Saturday at 7:30am, you guys are all welcome to join us. The long wait is NOT over...

Yeah that's right. You read it right, the long wait is not over yet due to the fact that we have to wait for another 3 more weeks. We actually don't want to give you any figures anymore because we really don't know when it's gonna open. It will just prolong your agony.

To find out the status ourselves, Joel and yours truly went to the gym yesterday and talked with the security supervisor guarding the place and he confirmed that it's not done yet. Also, we gave him our contact numbers so he'll be able to advise us with the latest status of the gym.

For the meantime let's focus our attention to our family, work and vacation if you have any. Looking forward in seeing you all once the gym opens. Cheers!

Hey guys, we apologize that you have to wait this long. We appreciate your patience.

This is to inform everyone that MacArthur gym won't be ready for tonight.

We learned that there's gonna be another week of waiting. Hopefully it'll be ready. Let's again cross our fingers.

It's just that, we don't want to keep you guys hanging that's why we are doing everything we can to get the latest status on what's going on.

Anyway, we're hoping that the excitement's still there.

Let's just put it this way that the gym is being prepared for our opening ceremony. Once we see the newly renovated gym, you'll begin drooling and will say that it's worth the wait.

Hi MTC members, how's everything? I'm sure you guys can't wait to play anymore. It's been a month already. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I myself is feeling the same way since they closed down the gym.

Just so you know, Joel, Roland and yours truly visited the place a while ago and let me tell you, there were a lot of big changes, like the parking area were we used to park. They closed that area already, so instead of trying your luck you might want to consider going around and take 117th or 107th ave.

We also noticed that there were debris all over the place so we are assuming that it's not ready yet for the public.

If the gym is not ready by next week, we are gonna try playing in Florida City. As per Roland and Joel, it's a covered court with fiberglass boards and cement flooring.

I know it's far but it's just another alternative for those who can't wait to play at the gym.

Please note that it's not a league or a new venue for our MTC tournament. It's only a place for us to burn those extra calories in our system.

Hi guys, yup you read that right. As per conversation with the committee members we learned that the gym is gonna be ready in 2 weeks time. Let's cross our fingers and still hope that it's gonna push thru. I hope the excitement is still there. We'll keep you posted for the final date of our opening ceremony. Hey MTC members! How's your weekend? Hope you guys enjoyed.

Anyway, this is just to give you an update regarding the alternative gym that we talked about last Thursday.

As of the moment, we still don't have a confirmation from the organizers, whether we'll be allowed to play at the proposed MDC gym or not. I just learned that the school is asking for a lot of requirements as in a lot, like insurance and stuff.

We'll just have to wait I guess. We are doing everything we can to get this league started ASAP. I myself can't wait anymore...I know the feeling guys.

So for the meantime, maybe you can just organize your team and have some practice or even talk about strategies on how to beat other teams. You can go to the park this Thursday if you want to.

Please let us know if you have questions or other suggestions.

Again, we appreciate every comment that you post and will post, that's why we are encouraging everyone to speak up and let their voices be heard.

What's NEXT???

Hey guys! I'd just like to give all those who weren't able to attend yesterday some important updates.

First, we got our jersey. Yay! Thanks to the hardwork of Mr. Marlon Cruz. Way to go dude!

Second we weren't able to play...funny right? What the heck happened???

Would you like to know? Oh well here's the thing, after weeks of waiting, we thought that it's gonna push thru yesterday, but unfortunately something unexpected happened. The guys in charge of the gym closed it down for some major repairs. That is basically beyond our control. We can't do anything about it. Really unexpected that is.

So instead of just telling everyone to just go home, we actually talked about some important things including rules, details of the opening ceremony and alternative gymnasium, hopefully we'll be able to rent one. Everybody's willing to shell out at least $5 to $10 per player to pay for the rent.

One prospect is the Miami Dade College Gymnasium in Kendall (104th St.), hopefully it will be approved. Cross your fingers guys.

Also, we were able to choose our team names. Nice! I'll post the first 2 game schedule before the end of this week.

So, after weeks of preparation we are still wondering what's gonna happen next? It could be one player won't be able to play because of injuries during practice or whatever. Anything can happen. We don't know actually.

Let's just hope for the best.

And one final note...cooperation is the key for this league's success!

How's everybody doing today? Hope everything is smooth. Anyway, this is it! It's game time folks! Get ready for a fun filled and exciting Thursday as we start the first 2 games of the Miami Thursday Club Basketball Tournament tonight.

Please bring any BLACK and RED jersey or shirt later tonight with your MTC reversible shorts of course! We are still awaiting for our MTC jersey to get here (in case you guys are wondering why you are required to bring your own jersey tonight). We'll just improvise for the sake of tonight's opening games. Just be patient ok?

As per Marlon Cruz, the jerseys have been shipped already. So no need to worry.

With or without the jersey, we'll still push thru with our first 2 games. We are not stopping guys!

So FYI, the opening ceremony will be re-scheduled next Thursday, June 18, 2009 so please do attend.

How is it going guys? It's Bernie here trying get some sleep but unfortunately I really can't because at the moment I am experiencing an excruciating pain. Yup that's how to describe what I'm going through right now. I actually sprained my left ankle and it doesn't look good. It's swollen.

Anyway, since I can't sleep, I decided to re-edit the All star logo that I designed yesterday. It has been presented to the committee during our game last night and they liked it. So without further ado here it is.

Oh, by the way, I know you guys are wondering why the topic is All star game already and the league doesn't even start yet...I know, I know. Just keep your cool. We are just so excited and ecstatic, that's why this early we are already talking about the upcoming All star game. Please note that I created the logo also because we are trying to convince ourselves to order another set of uniform for the said event. We'll give you more updates soon. Just let me know what you guys think about the logo. Cheers!

Hey guys, we are back once more and we are very much excited because in two weeks we'll start the league. It was supposed to be next thursday the 28th but unfortunately, we don't have the jersey yet, but don't worry, Marlon Cruz, the one in-charge ordering the uniforms said that he'll make a way to speed things up. We'll hear from him in a couple of days. So right now, since I already told you about the jersey and the delay of the opening of the league, just would like to show you the jersey with the logo and everything (only in pictures though). Here's something to show you guys. This is just some random shots that we took the other day at the gym. It's like a parody of the 2009 ESPN playoffs commercial. Check it out and enjoy. Hey folks, how is it going? We are back once again and we are pretty excited because we got our shorts for our team uniform. We are still waiting for the jersey though. Also, we brought speakers and tried the sound system and they worked just fine. We also shot some player's profile video clips to be included with our soon to be released DVD costing $10 a piece (might raise the price to $20.00 though, we'll tell you exactly why in the next coming days).

Please also note that we were able to distribute waiver forms for players, so if you were not in the gym yesterday and haven't signed yet, please let me know via comment here and i'll provide more copies and bring them next week.

It's gonna be exciting as we await for the opening ceremony to be presented by the members of the Miami Thursday Club committee. We'll give you guys more updates in the coming days so just visit this site from time to time. Cheers!
