I’ll admit it right now: I just started listening to this band as of ten minutes ago, and decided that I needed to write about them. I’m currently listening to thier album Nord, and it had me right away with the very first song. This happens very rarely for me, let alone doing band reviews without extensive listening. I guess I just have so much confidence in their writing as they do. One sec, I’m going to click back on the first track.

There.

Ok, so this band is a beautiful mix of screamo, sludge, and melodic goodness. The first track starts off modestly enough, but the buildups are way beautiful and send chills all over me. If I was in this type of band, this is most likely what it’d be like. From what I’ve listened to so far, it has a very consistent feel, but in a non-repetitive way.

I don’t know how France does it, but they’ve really mastered the screamo/melodic genres. With bands like Dïatro, CELESTE, and Sed Non Satiata;  YoNL has managed to keep the movement strong.

Here’s hoping they come to the states!

Aptly titled ひので, this will be my next release under zxyzxy. I have created the artwork for the cover, and I wanted to share it with you all. This single embarks in a different path from my LP release, and not only that, but better mixing as well. I am constantly evolving and creating whatever I can to really break through the mold of music. My plans for my next release will also be quite a different path from this single. Even though my style will be evolving, it’ll be more consistent throughout. My LP is an emotional wreck, and I plan to stabilize at some point, but in a very interesting way. Anyways, here is the front cover.

It’s been known for well over a thousand years that these guys are assholes. Well, actually, I had no problem with them at all prior. I mean, we all hate paying fees, but I was totally happy to pay a measly $2.50 fee for convenience to get my ticket ahead of time, knowing I won’t be screwed over by the show possibly being sold out. But now…

Fuck ME! Three fees now? Fuck you! That’s roughly $10.00 in fees.

The thing is, I would much rather just buy my ticket at the show, but I have no idea if they’ll be sold out, and I’m not risking it being sold out. Jerks.

If you can manage to find a way to get your tickets ahead of time through another method, I highly recommend it. Next time I’ll be sure to do some research before getting my ticket to a show.
