Cool Photoshoot with Lady D–We had a lot of fun photographing her and can’t wait to listen to her new album!

As the sun set and the full moon rose, the newleyweds celebrated with their friends and family with true Aloha. We were honored to be a part of their special day, and wish them the very best on their new journey together.

We had a great time with Aysha this week. As you can tell, she was quite a natural in front of the camera, and as a result, we captured some great shots.

“My experience was awesome. I had a lot of fun doing everything and i LOVED my pictures,” is what she wrote in her testimonial. Much mahalos, Aysha–words like those remind us why we love what we do!

This weekend the Goodnight Gecko hits the stage at the Palace Theater in Hilo. There’s one last show at 2:30pm on Saturday, May 16 at 2:30 p.m. You can find more information at the Palace Theater website here.

The examples of new transformative works are quite fun and thought-provoking. In addition, his take on the need for a paradigm shift in the way we look at copyright is insightful. And what is particularly humorous is the fact that Warner Music has issued a DMCA takedown notice on the video, even though it is pretty clear that it falls under fair use. Once again, the music industry demonstrates its ineptitude in understanding the future of creative works. Sigh.

The publication of this incredible resource by Time/Life is an amazing gift, especially as so many other companies try unsuccessfully to lock up content in pursuit of “monetization.” I’ll certainly be back to enjoy this archive again and again.

I enjoyed Studio Photography immensely and will miss the informative content that was published. The sad reality is that electronic news-gathering and delivery is becoming the norm, and publications such as this are going to become more and more difficult to support.
Hopefully we’ll see the advertisers from these magazines shift their spending to some of the new outlets.

We had a great time on Sunday at Coco Hunt’s 1st Birthday Party. The big event was held down at the Vacationland Tidepools in Kapoho. Thanks Jeff and Tiffany for hosting such a great party!

March 2009 saw the kids involved in the Malama O Puna Junior Lifeguard Program taught by Mark Franklin (with help from many friends!) The kids had a blast, especially on the final day where the class headed out to Hilo Bay for games, canoe paddling, and even a sailing lesson! Great fun was had by all, and we look forward to participating in the next session coming this fall. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in setting this up.
