I’m pretty careful about scraps.  And it’s great when I can make a card out of them!

For this card, I embossed the Paper Makeup image onto watercolor paper and colored it in.  Ivory Feltweave was used for the mat and the sentiment layer.  The Wild Cherry Pop Tones and  Abysse Sparkle were scraps that I was squirreling away.  They certainly pop on the Kraft cardstock.   Obviously, I need more Paper Temptress Papers!

I want to add that Kitchen Sink Stamps are the most realistic looking stamps on the market, if you don’t have any you need some!!

This was the email Teri sent me…..

Today is our 25th wedding anniversary which calls for a Special card made with Special paper!

White Diamond cardstock made a beautiful base.  The images were stamped with Versamark and embossed with Superfine Silver on Retro Silver Lustre text, then matted with Dark Silver Lustre cardstock.
Retro Silver Lustre text was perfect for printing the inside sentiment.
As others have pointed out, very little embellishment is needed when the paper is so elegant.

I couldn’t have said it better myself!

Then take a good look at the photos, I did!  The staging (term used for setting up the scene) is amazing with the green cloth draped nicely around the card.  Plus anyone out there that has tried to capture the beauty of the Lustre line with a camera knows how difficult it is since the flash creates a glare against it and these pictures are picture perfect so I emailed Teri to give her cudos on the photography only to be told that her 16 year old soon too them.  Imagine that, a 16 year old took these pictures, I am still blown away!  I wish he lived close, I could use his photography skills since there are still a few products missing product pictures at the store!

Image is from the Butterfly Collage set from I Brake For Stamps. Stamped with Memento black on some wax paper that had been smooshed into various acrylic paints and then allowed to dry. A surprisingly cool background. I always smoosh whatever is handy in to the acrylic paints to I don’t waste it and you never know what you will end up with. Layers are Abysse  and Noir Sparkle  from Paper Temptress. Sparkle is my favorite paper. I return to it over and over and over again. I love the look and the smooth texture. I stamp on it all the time. Love the Sparkle line.

Nuts About Sketches Week 99 is a wonderful 2 page sketch. You can do just one page if you would like. The ist page is Solar White Thick Columns. The photos are matted with Basis Brown. I used a 12 x 12 Greenbrier Grandee Felt  sheet for the border stips that are topped with parts from SU Simply Scrappin kit. The title is on Silver Lustre that was stamped with Vintage Labels by Stampin Up. The tags are SU retired. The letters were punched using Doodle Dots die on Crystal Metallic. The journal boxes are on Crystal Metallic.  The second page is on Red Pepper Thick Columns 12×12. The Tigger and Winnie Pooh image were emboosed with a Cuttlebug folder and colored with chalk on Crystal Metallic.

Isn’t it amazing, and it looks so much better IRL. I was stunned over how pearlescent the paper is. My jaw dropped when I opened this package.  Then I got this one and I am totally addicted now!

You can catch some of the shine in the pink and cream papers.  This matches the fabric perfectly!  Although it is a simple card, the colors and textures bring it to life.

I stamped my Lady image from the 20’s Ladies Plate from The Artistic Stamper on Sparkle Blanc. The heart layer is the Heart background from The Artistic Stamper stamped on Sparkle Noir with acrylic paints. The card base is also Sparkle Noir. The red layer is Sparkle Vermilliion. The gold layer is Gold Sparkle (text weight).

Second, I fell in love with Nina Brackett’s newest stamp set from Gina K Designs, “Lovely Labels”.  This set is sooooo perfect for showing off those papers and leaving just a simple message on the front that has so much presence.

My main purpose for this card was to show off this awesome metallic paper!!!  I used the Lapis Lazuli for my card.

I didn’t want to do the whole front in it because I felt that was just overpowering to drown it in so much sparkle.  Still… I wanted just enough to really make it stand out and add shimmer to my design.  This is FABULOUS paper!!!  I truly don’t think I CAN have enough of it in my arsenal!!!

And just so you can really see it’s shine… here’s a close up.  YUMMY!!!

Yellow mat is Lemondrop Pop Tones which is one of the colors that PaperTemptress carries in both 65# and 100# making it perfect to use the 100# for the card and the 65# for the perfectly matching envelope!
