I got together with GES's own, Jeff Cash to discuss the various aspects of the company and here is a bit of what he had to say:

GES started operating in the wind sector in early 1994, coinciding with the take-off of the industry in Spain. Its first assignment was installation of the Perdón wind farm in Navarre. GES has a great deal of experience in installing and maintaining wind turbines produced with different technologies: Gamesa, Vestas, Bonus-Siemens, Made, Ecotecnia, Acciona, General Electric, etc. GES is a multivendor world wide service provider that operates in more than 17 countries, offering in all of them the same quality standards. Outside Spain, GES has stable presence in the USA, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the UK, Ireland, France, Greece, Mexico, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. We also have a growing interest in increasing our activity in emerging countries like China and India, with their enormous potential for renewable energies.

Health and Safety is a major strategic value at GES. The main hazards of the wind sector are related to working at height and handling electricity. GES is responsible for all of the people who work for it, whether directly or hired by the companies with which it collaborates. Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources with the greatest growth potential. The services provided by GES in the solar sector are:
“Turnkey” projects
Electrical and mechanical installation of solar panels and their associated infrastructures. Control systems: GES has developed its own control system and standard application, permitting the local control and observation of farms and their remote viewing and supervision from a website.
Maintenance of the electrical infrastructures and panels on solar farms and associated infrastructures. GES activity in the solar sector began in 2004 with the assembly of small-sized installations. In 2005 it tackled its first big project, the Aznalcollar solar farm in Seville, with a capacity of over 3 MW. By now, GES has been involved in over 50 projects, having installed solar farms with a total potential of over 90 MW and is carrying out maintenance work of around 40 MW. A provider of multi-technology services, GES has worked with the solar panels produced by Gamesa Solar, Guascor Fotón, Solar World, REC, Conergy, Total, IBC, etc., and with the different manufacturers of inverter and tracker equipment. From the point of view of Health and Safety, the potential hazards for GES solar farm workers are electricity and potentially working at height, particularly in installations with trackers. The safety of all professionals under the responsibility of GES is an essential preliminary condition for the providing of solar services. GES is a reference in the providing of oil and gas services thanks to over 25 years of experience and a highly qualified team of professionals. GES has carried out important projects and applications in all stages of the oil (exploration and production, storage, refining and petrochemical) and gas chains (liquefaction and regasification plants and transport).
