Having a reliable vehicle to race with is an important part in winning a race. Who cares how much power your engine makes if the rest of your chassiss can't cope and falls to bits in the middle of a sprint? The right set of go kart racing tools is important in fixing your ride when something breaks and keeping it in top performing condition.

What every racer needs to have

First off, you'll surely need a set of basic tools on hand. A set wrench of wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, anything that has a general purpose in fixing mechanical objects is important to have around in case you need it. As well as basic hand tools, you might also want to keep around some of the more complicated tools, in this case, specialized bits for your engine and chassiss, so that you can open up and adjust things on the fly as needed.

You don't really need to have EVERY part that your vehicle calls for, since some of these can only be found in shops that make use of these tools often. Examples include whole vehicle lifts, great for working under the go kart when you need to fix something from beneath, but not really practical for you to keep in your garage when not in use.

Where to order

Some of the general tools you can find at your local hardware store, like the usual spanners and power tools. You can also find the other tools you need like engine-specific tools at auto parts stores as well as motorcycle stores because they have tools in common with go-karts. You can also check out online stores for go-karts for some of the more hard to find tools, like specialized wrenches and such. The good thing about ordering tools online is that you can view multiple offerings in a single go, and compare pricing so that you can order the best deal.

Power tools versus manual

There is nothing more convenient than to have power tools with multiple functions at your command. The best tools have multiple bits that you can simply bolt on to a drill motor and in effect have another tool, to multiple sizes of a certain tool for ultimate versatility. But still, there are hand tools that are more suited for certain jobs, like hand torque wrenches that allow the user to manually modulate the pressure used on the tool so that he or she can prevent over tightening of parts that may damage or strip studs, to name a common occurrence.

Order wisely

Whatever tool you need, it's best that when you shop around for a new one, always go for quality. It seems easy to compromise on this one because tools look the same on the outside, but in reality the craftsmanship of these tools is quite different when comparing a quality tool and a cheap substitute.

Not only do you compromise the tool's effectivity at doing a job, it can even break while you're using it and make you wish that you ordered the more expensive tool in the first place. Go for a reputable tool maker brand and you won't regret it. Not only is it possible that cheap tools will break down on the job, but you could also damage the part you're fixing as well.

Cheap bolts could possibly strip threads, and with something being really expensive like a cylinder head, nobody wants to have to make a costly mistake with their go kart racing tools.

With its diverse and abundant marine life, the Big Island of Hawaii is considered to be the Mecca for sport fishing.

The Big Island of Hawaii's Kona Coast is the perfect fishing destination for anglers. With mountains that block strong winds, you can expect to get fantastic water condition for fishing. It will mean calm waters.

The Kona Coast in the Big Island of Hawaii lies next to an ocean drop off which can go as deep as thousands of feet. This means that you will be able to access some of the world's largest game fish, where some are even mounted on restaurants and stores in the town of Kailua-Kona.

With the thrill of hooking one of these big game fish and attempting to land in on board the boat is simply intoxicating that you can never get enough of. For sure, you will never see fishing like this anywhere else in the world.

Many sports fishermen have stated that they want to go back to Hawaii as soon as the season opens again and as soon as they save enough money for another fishing vacation.

You will see that there is a huge fleet of fishing boats in the Big Island that will be able to take you and your group to go fishing in some of the best spots around the island or perhaps even the world. The great thing about these charters is that the prices are very attractive. It is very reasonable compared to other islands in the state. Even if Kona Coast is known for the best fishing in the world, you will see that you will be able to get very low prices for charters. This means that you can be sure that fishing here will be well worth your money.

Here are some tips that you need to remember when you go fishing in the Big Island of Hawaii.

First of all, if you are serious about catching fish, you might want to book a 6 hour or 8 hour trip. This will give the boat enough time to reach the fishing grounds and let you spend more hours fishing in the spot.

There is also the tag and release option where it will be entirely left up to you. Try discussing this issue with the captain of the boat.

Also, try to remember that the crew members are great fishermen who will never make your lunch. So, make sure that you bring your own food and drink.

Most of the operators here will be able to provide you with the equipments, licenses and ice to store the fish in.

Of course, you wouldn't want to just tell the story to your friends when you get back home about the large fish you caught. So, bring a camera to support your story. You have to remember that your fellow anglers will never accept the fact that you caught a fish larger than theirs and they are indeed fond of exaggerating. So, never forget that camera.

In Hawaii, always remember that it has a tropical weather and it can get very hot. Bring a sunscreen especially if you are going to spend hours in the deck of the boat fighting the fish you just hooked.

These are some of the tips that you need to follow whenever you go to Hawaii. With these tips, you can be sure that you will be able to know what to expect when you go to Hawaii.

Skydiving is a sport that may make you shake to your core, that is if you're afraid of heights. So let's know the basics of skydiving, to make us feel a little bit safer when we try to jump. Skydivers can fly laterally, they can also do barrel rolls, somersaults, swooping dives, and glide and soar like a bird. But how do they do that?

This is because the falling body reaches Terminal Velocity. There are no acceleration, the body have gained a steady momentum because the atmospheric drag or air resistance and body weight became equal and opposite. At terminal velocity, the falling sensation disappears. The Terminal velocity makes it easier to perform acrobatics, formations or just take picture from the specially mounted camera.

Remarkably, skydiving is a safe sport. Those who experience accidents are often under a fully functioning canopies and experienced jumpers who try to do extreme movements. Beginner accidents are rare and fatalities due to malfunctioning equipment are rarer still.

There are four essentials in skydiving: fundamental safety, free fall plan, parachute usage and manipulation, and safe landing.

With fundamental safety, this means knowing the how and when of this sport. Checking the gear, proper procedure in jumping, presence of mind in case of emergency, parachute deployment, managing parachute failure, selecting a good landing site and actual landing is included in fundamental safety.

A skydiving beginner should learn how to maneuver or turn the body while in free fall. It is important for the diver to manage a stable position while falling downward at a velocity of 120 mph. This is the second basic element in skydiving.

Parachute usage and manipulation is the third essential thing to learn about skydiving. It is important to learn how to open the parachute in mid-air safely or open the reserve chute when the major parachute would not open. Opening the parachute requires timing. It even pays of if the beginner knows how parachute works and what it is made of.

Choosing a landing site is also a fundamental of skydiving. Choosing the right landing spot will help you avoid tangling on trees or ending up in open sea.

When you have enough knowledge of the four fundamentals, it does not mean that you will jump aboard the next plane and do the dive. There are preparations to be done by a skydiver before jumping. Make sure that the equipment are properly packed. You also need to coordinate the jump with the pilot of the plane.

Weather and wind conditions should be checked and monitored, these will decide the best place for jumping off the plane. Jumping pattern and order should also be determined to avoid mid-air collisions. Jumpers should practice the maneuvers that they will do before entering the aircraft.

The average fall speed of skydivers would be 120 to 150 mph. When they are free-falling in the air, jumpers can change their body position and do the maneuvers. All maneuvers are stopped at about 1,200 m or 3,900 feet. Jumpers have to turn away from each other and give the signal before deploying their parachutes. Waving their arms show that the jumpers are ready to deploy the parachutes. But they would have to gain enough space first from each other.

A parachute ride normally lasts two to three minutes only. The jumpers could make the landing softer by flaring the parachutes seconds before the actual landing. To avoid injury in arms and legs during landing, the jumpers could roll forward. There are some experienced jumpers who land on their feet while running.

Skydiving is an enjoyable recreational activity, as long as beginners follow the basic safety measures and listen to their skydiving mentors.

Below are the ways to get ready for your very first mountain biking race:

Pre-race Preparation

Upcoming races should be known as early as possible. This will help you ready the necessary papers (if any) or simply give you more time to prepare physically and mentally. Most biking websites as well as local bike shops have list of race events open for beginners and experts. Get a hold of entry or registration forms early. Pre-register to avoid long lines on race day.

Know the location, length of the course, date and time, categories, and direction of the race. It is better if you can ride on the actual trail before the race day to familiarize the track and learn the terrain.

If you are riding alone, make sure that you pack everything you need including a tool kit, tire repair kit, clothes suited for the weather, helmet, gloves, shoes, food and liquid. If you are riding in a team, check with the race organizers the rules. Can you munch powerbars during the race? Can you borrow tools or extra inner tube from your teammates? Can you get water-bottle from your pit crew as you turn a lap? These things are important to know beforehand to properly prepare and strategize how to race.

Personal Preparation

While you may not aim to finish first in the race, physical preparation is still a must. Make sure that you have been doing some personal time trial on your chosen course weeks before the actual race instead of the usual casual riding. Try to improve your time on every ride. Strengthen your legs more by doing leg exercises like squat. Eat properly and get enough rest and sleep.

Note: Any type of mountain bike race can be very competitive. If this is your first time to race, try not to push yourself too hard. You may need not aim to finish the race first. There is more to racing than winning, so enjoy the view and at the same time, improve your personal best.

Bike Preparation

Check your bike at least 2 days before the race day. This will give you time to go to shops and buy replacement parts if necessary. The last thing you want is to find an open shop at 11pm or change inner tube minutes before the race starts.

On Site Preparation

Arrive early; at least one hour before the start of the race. This will allow you to get a good parking spot, time to rest, relax and loosen up, and handle any registration complications. Practice a pre-race ritual by polishing your bike with a rug. This will give you time to mentally prepare and do a final check on your bike.

Warm up (but not get tired) by taking a lap around the course. If the weather is bad, consider bringing a roller or a trainer. Stretch your muscles.

Eat foods rich in carbohydrates, protein and fats before the race. Drink plenty of water. Go if you need to. Nothing could be worse than having to go in the middle of the race.

When the gun goes off or when the gate drops, pedal fast!

There are several specific types of injuries that are particularly associated with sports and it is especially vital to understand the various injuries so that the appropriate treatment can be sought as soon as possible. Quick treatment for most injuries can really reduce the amount of time it takes to heal as well as the expense associated with treatment, which makes it especially important to determine an injury quickly and begin the recovery process.

Acute - This type of injury is usually associated with suddenly occurring, and often being associated with bruises, fractures, broken bones, blood, ligament strain or breakage and even spinal cord injuries. The exact type of injury is not as important as the classification. Acute injuries require immediate medical treatment to help reduce the pain, as well as begin the treatment process.

Some acute injuries such as those associated with sprains and strains need to be bandaged and splinted to prevent further damage to the body and aid in healing. In addition, eye injuries must be carefully treated once the eyes are carefully cleaned to avoid any further damage. Typically, acute injuries are the result of being hit with a ball, hit by another player, or even falling while playing. Additional ways acute injuries occur are possible, and not all injuries are the result of another player on the field.

Overuse Injuries - These injuries typically occur due to extended repetition while engaged in an activity. This can occur in adults or children and while it is possible to minimize this injury through exercise and conditioning, it generally cannot be entirely avoided. Athletes who play sports a lot do tend to experience some form of overuse injury at some point.

Some examples of overuse injuries include swimmers shoulder, little league elbow, shin splits and spondylolysis. Each type of injury is typically associated with continuous repetition but most especially in younger children. Plenty of exercises and strength training will usually help to tone and condition the muscles to avoid the problems and injuries associated with the repetition of sports.

To help really avoid overuse injuries it is advisable to always warm up carefully before playing, always ensure you are using appropriate equipment that fits properly and also try to limit the number of sports you play at once. For example, try to avoid being involved in more than one activity per season as this can help strain the muscles and joints much faster.

Reinjury - This is the final type of injury that is common amongst athletes. This most often occurs when an athlete pushes recovery to return to playing sports again before they are fully healed. Most athletes who have reinjury problems tend to return to sports before getting the approval of their doctor; however, it is possible on rare occasions that the doctor will make a mistake. Returning to the sport before the injury has fully healed can cause the same injury to progress, and can also cause additional injuries depending on the circumstances surrounding the reinjury.

The best way to avoid a reinjury is to carefully allow your body to fully heal upon becoming injured. By following the instructions that the doctor recommends, as well as carefully and slowly re-entering the sports field after recovering from an injury you can greatly reduce the risk of a reinjury rather than making yourself susceptible to another injury so quickly.

There, you can have the opportunity to throw yourself off of the Macau Tower, a height which is approximately 764 feet (233m). This is an experience which you will most likely never forget– and it must be experienced first-hand in order to be fully appreciated.

If you are seeking the very best in true thrills and excitement, the Macau Tower is surely the place to go for your bungy jumping! In addition to being the highest jump, this particular experience has the added factor of allowing the jumper to fall very close to the concrete tower itself during your descent downward. This factor has the dual purpose of both assessing your speed and creating an increased adrenalin flow. Your plummeting speed will reach approximately 200km/hr; and at the end of your ride on a fifty-meter cord, you will be thirty meters from the ground. There is probably nothing else that you will ever do in your entire lifetime that can ever compare to the adrenalin rush you will get from bungy jumping off the Macau Tower. Their word for this experience– "extreme"– is undoubtedly a very accurate description.

The A.J. Hackett Macau Tower was opened to the public in December, 2006. Launched and overseen by A.J. Hackett, who first invented the sport of bungy jumping more than two decades ago, the Macau Tower bungy jump experience does contain a number of very important safety precautions. His group has developed a special cord system which ensures, among other things, the even distribution of weight during the jumping. Jumpers also wear a safety harness with dual attachment points for their protection.

In addition, prospective jumpers must meet height, weight, and basic health requirements, as well as being properly informed in advance as to the potential risks of the bungy jumping. For the sake of their own safety, pregnant women, and children under thirteen years of age, are not allowed to participate in this activity. The prospective jumper is required to sign a waiver stating that he or she is aware of these risks before being allowed to jump.

To commemorate your amazing experience, you will be provided with a membership card, photos, a DVD, and a special Jumpers Edition t-shirt. If you sign up for your bungy jumping experience with the A. J. Hackett Group, you will also receive a ten-percent discount at many of Macau's local restaurants, fifty-percent off your second and third jumps, and your fourth jump will be free. Membership will also entitle you to a twenty-percent discount at all of A. J. Hackett's worldwide adventure locations.

If all of this interests you, you should go to the adventure capital of Southeast Asia for the most unforgettable bungy jumping experience of a lifetime. You can request more information or book your trip through the A.J. Hackett Group. After you arrive in Hong Kong, you will take a one-hour ferry ride to Macau– and be prepared for an extreme experience!

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that is now practiced as a sport in many parts of the world. In Korean, the term Taekwondo translates thus: Tae is to kick or destroy with the foot, kwon means to strike with the hand, chiefly the fist and Do means the way. Add all this up and what you get is a martial art form that calls itself the way of kicks and punches.

This most popular of Korean art forms, based on Karate, is more than just kicks and punches. It is a combination of offensive as well as defensive techniques, philosophy and, as with most martial arts in their present form, entertainment as well.

There are several types of Taekwondo styles, each different in their doctrine and technical construct. Yet, all styles have a common emphasis: that on kicks thrown from a distance, using the leg's greater reach and power. This disables the opponent from a distance. The other techniques used are jumps, spins, skips and side-kicks. They are used alone or in combination with other moves. Taekwondo also includes a comprehensive system of hand strikes and blocks, but generally does not emphasize grappling.

To understand Taekwondo one must delve deep into Korean history. As early as 668 AD, Chinese Chuan Fa techniques were used to train the Korean warriors. With time these techniques evolved into the empty-hand art of Subak. This art form split into the Taekyon (striking art) and the Yusul (a grappling art).

Yusul never gained popularity and became extinct while Taekyon remained thanks to the secret practice of certain Korean families and street gangs. Now, when the Japanese moved into Korea, Karate was absorbed into the martial art forms like Taekyon along with influences from Manchuria and China.

Even when Korea was liberated in 1945, the art form called Taekwondo did not exist ; the nomenclature most definitely did not. In fact General Choi Hong Hi who is considered to be the father of modern Taekwondo taught a combination of Karate and Taekyon to his soldiers. In 1955, when the government called for a single name that could unify these disparate art forms, General Choi's submission Taekwondo , which incorporated several native Korean styles into a linear form, won the day.

Physically, Taekwondo develops strength, speed, balance and stamina. But it emphasizes on the development of five qualities in the practitioner: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. The art form is therefore a mental discipline as well and one that leads to heightened awareness, focus and concentration.

Besides Judo, it is the only other Asian martial arts that finds a place in international sports. It also enjoys the honor of being Korea's national sport.

It is like riding a rollercoaster but even better because the ride does not end in just a few seconds. Once you have completed ground school, it is time for you to do the real thing.

There are three types of skydiving that are done in the US. There is tandem jumping, static line and free falling.

In tandem jumping, an experienced jumper does this with you. This person will be the one to guide you all the way till you reach the ground. You don't have to do anything the entire time except enjoy the ride.

The position of a tandem jump is with the instructor on your back carrying an extra large parachute that is capable of carrying weights of up to 500 pounds. You will wear a harness that is attached to the instructor and once you exit the plane, you guys will be in free fall motion for about a minute or so before the parachute is deployed and you slowly descend to the ground.

The tandem jump is considered to be ideal for people who don't meet the physical or proficiency requirements to make the jump on their own. This will allow people who are overweight the opportunity to still have fun.

The cost of a tandem jump could be from $70 to over $300. If there are a lot of skydiving centers where you live, you should check each one out so you can get the best deal.

The static line jump had its origins from the military. This is because your parachute will automatically open a few seconds after you jump off the plane. The jump is done at an altitude of 3,000 feet and after a series of jumps you will now be the one to pull the cord.

The third and last is the accelerated free fall. This is the best way to experience modern sport skydiving because you can do some acrobatics before it is time to pull the cord. You will exit the aircraft between 10,000 to 12,000 feet and slowly drop to the ground with the parachute open at 4,000 feet.

The entire time that you do any of these jumps, there will always be an instructor around from the moment you board the plane until you land on the ground. They may not be attached to your back anymore like in tandem jumping but they will be beside you to make sure everything went according to plan.

The three types of jumping are considered part of the training requirement so you can do a solo jump. It will cost money to become a licensed jumper even if this is not required by the FAA or the Federal Aviation Administration but this is a requirement if you plan to jump in drop zones regulated by the United States Parachute Association or USPA.

Skydiving is a lot of fun and you need to be trained on the ground first before you are allowed to jump off from an aircraft on your own. If you have the time and money, you will be able to get a license in less than year so you can jump anytime and anywhere.

Just remember everything that was taught to you in class so the next jump won't be your last.

Mountain biking, in the first place, should be fun. And some accidents, while often humiliating or painful, are just part of the sport. You probably have several personal reasons to quit. Instead of entertaining these negative thoughts, why not ask yourself, why should I not quit? Here's why…

Because some jerks expect you to quit

Your neighbors or probably even your friend will just roll their eyes if you tell them you have started mountain biking. They might say, "You are just wasting your time because you will quit anyway." If stirring skepticism is all that you create, why not put it in a positive way. Whenever you feel like quitting, remember all these people who do not believe that you can stay on your bike. Prove them wrong.

It makes you feel good about yourself

You might have seen some changes in your body after just weeks of regular mountain biking. What more if you maintain it for several months?

When you ride, you burn lots of calories that should have turned into fat if you did not decide to get moving. Riding helps you keep in shape. And if you are in shape, you start to feel good about yourself, which can be reflected to the way you act, communicate and relate with others.

Also, you are often judged as a person through physical appearance. If you look good, many will think of you as trustworthy and smart. If you are fat, you may be labeled as dumb, lazy and untrustworthy. This is not morally right but it is true; and many studies have testified to it.

It makes you feel better when you bump to an old friend

Isn't it nice to bump to an old friend from high school looking chiseled and fit? Isn't it great to attend a reunion and become the center of talk because you have lost a lot of weight? Losing weight may be the reason why you started mountain biking, looking good is a bonus.

Mountain biking is fun

Fun can be defined in many ways. Being able to improve your endurance, breathe fresh air, challenge yourself, learn new skill, see new places, meet new people and stay in shape are some of those. Mountain biking allows you to enjoy them all at the same time.

The beach season

Can you still remember the last time you have taken your shirt off and put on a swimwear? Or, have you done it? Confidently? If you love the beach or planning to go to the beach this summer, wouldn't it be nice if you can show off how good your body looks? Mountain biking, although it may not be able to give you those big muscles, will certainly keep those fats off and help achieve a trimmed body.

The opposite sex

For some strange reasons, human beings still posses some attitudes of animals even if we claim that we are the superior kind. We still have the idea that if we look good and look strong, we attract the opposite sex. But is it true. Good looking people get more attention; and you have to admit that you want to belong in this small, lucky group.

It is a medium to delay the pull of gravity from earth when deployed form higher altitude.

In short, it makes the dropping of an item, a person or equipment vertically or diagonally slower by reducing the amount of dragging force while maintaining a balance so that the item would remain safe until it reaches the ground. Early physicists have made use of this principle and newer develops in parachuting technology led to the creation of various types of parachutes.

Early types of parachutes

Parasol type- Though not strictly called parachutes, the parasols were commonly used by performers in China to create a slow falling effect onstage.

Conical parachute - Possibly the earliest form of parachute is the conical shaped-parachute which appeared during 1470s in Italy preceding the design conceptualized by Leonardo da Vinci. As an escape device, this type of parachute was intended to allow people to get safely on the ground from burning buildings. However, there are no written records whether this parachute was ever used for that purpose.

Pyramid Parachute - Another design by Leonardo da Vinci, this parachute was conceptualized in Milan during the early part of 1480. It was a canopy that is supported by light wood held by a square bottom frame.

Pack-style parachute - This is the predecessor of all parachutes that are stored in casings these days.

Round parachutes - A basic drag device, round parachute is used in various settings like medical missions, cargo applications and military operations. While being described commonly as round in shape, the parachute actually resembles a dome or a jellyfish. This has been among the most popular type however; present-day parachutists don't normally use this kind of parachute.

The earliest round parachutes were circulars with flat surfaces that made them unstable, thus causing a number of deaths and injuries on parachutists. To add more stability, military round parachutes were made parabolic or conical in shape.

There are two types of round parachutes- steerable and non-steerable. Like ram-air parachutes, non-steerable parachutes can't be maneuvered to intended direction thus this type glides only to the direction of the wind lending no control to the parachutists. However, steering is provided through cutting large holes in the edges giving relatively partial forward speed.

Square parachutes - The cruciform design helps reduce oscillation. It is commonly used today by sport skydivers.

Ram-air parachutes - For better control of speed and direction, ram-air parachutes allow the canopies to self-inflate. Like standard paragliders, ram-air parachutes are designed to hold, spread and lessen the tension of parachute deployment on terminal velocity.

Ribbon/Ring Parachute - Specifically designed for supersonic speeds where ordinary parachutes would break down, this type often has a hole in the middle of the canopy to lessen the pressure as the parachute reaches the ground.

On some designs, the ring of the canopy is broken into a number of ribbons that are connected by ropes so as to allow more air to pass. The leaks in between the ribbons will diminish the pressure on the parachute so that breaking or shredding of the canopy is prevented.

These various types of parachutes are made according to the use they have and some are according to the technology the inventors had during their time.

Trying to transport an ATV in the back of a truck or in an all purpose trailer is not the best idea. It can be dangerous and make the task more difficult than it has to be. An unsecured ATV is dangerous and can injure people, and damage your truck or the ATV. If you are going to transport your ATV, make sure you use a specially designed ATV trailer and properly secure your ATV. Taking large heavy equipment such as an ATV on trips with you can be stressful, but using the proper trailer will reduce the amount of stress and make your tripe and enjoyable one.

An ATV trailer is a type of trailer made to transport ATV's. Loading, unloading, and moving your ATV is much easier with a specially designed trailer and your ATV will be much more secure during transport. Most ATV trailers are made low to the ground and include a ramp that also folds up to secure your ATV after loading it. ATV trailers are made to withstand the weight of an ATV and have other safety features including places to use straps to secure your ATV.

There are some tips you should remember to make the most of your trip while transporting an ATV. Loading and unloading your ATV may seem like the hardest part, but compared to the challenges of driving with a trailer in tow these steps are relatively easy. Make sure the ramp on your trailer stays in good condition and if it is not attached, make sure it will not slip while you load or unload your ATV.

Driving while hauling your ATV in a trailer will prove to be the hardest part of transporting your ATV. Every move you make with your vehicle will cause your trailer to move as well. If you switch lanes or turn often, your trailer will also sway and move form side to side. Because the trailer is being towed a short distance behind your vehicle, the reaction of the trailer will be delayed.

It will take a few seconds longer for the trailer to stop swaying and the movements of the trailer may be more exaggerated than that of your vehicle. If you are new to towing trailers, you should practice on quiet roads near your house before you attempt to tow your ATV long distances.

Acceleration and braking is also different when you are towing a trailer. Obviously, you will not be able to accelerate as fast when towing a trailer so make sure you give yourself plenty of room when entering the road. You will also not be able to brake as quickly so do not follow as close to cars as you normally would.

The faster you drive, the more your trailer will move so always drive with caution while pulling your ATV trailer. You should also make sure your ATV is properly secured on the trailer so that is does not come loose from bumps and vibrations and get damaged or cause damage to anything else.

Many people are already into the Frisbee fever. A good thing about this game, especially the regular Frisbee, is that you can develop or create your moves. Among the difficult yet unique moves is the 'kick-throw'. From the very word, you will already have an idea on how the throw is executed.

Kick-throw is basically about throwing the Frisbee with your foot. So how will you do it? Here are the steps to follow:

1. Your feet should be apart from each other (preferably shoulder-width). Position yourself about 45 degrees from the direction you're aiming with the dominant leg in front. The disc should be held at your waist-level with both of your hands.

2. Release the Frisbee to the space beyond the kicking foot. When releasing the disc, you should let it go in a tilting position and it should be spinning clockwise. That way, the farthest edge of the flying disc is somewhat above the trailing rim or edge.

3. When the disc is about 12-24 inches from the surface, swing the dominant leg like a pendulum and strike the trailing edge of the disc, using the outside portion of the foot. Your goal here is to create forward momentum and to increase the clockwise spin's rate.

Now, this move is a bit tricky and you might not be able to get it in one try. It will surely take a lot of practice before you can do the kick-throw move.

When practicing the kick-throw move, make sure that your foot does not go after the disc. You must wait until the disc is near you foot (12-24 inches from the ground surface). You don't have to use a lot of power play here because the move is all about technique. You must be able to determine the proper technique in order to execute the move properly. Some players have their own technique when doing the kick-throw move and perhaps you may be able to create your own technique too.

Keep in mind that controlling the kicked disc is difficult. You should not practice in a very small area where there are other people present because you might hit them. It would be best to practice alone if you're in a very small area or better yet, try to practice the move in open space where there are very few people.

There are still other movements that you can learn but you need to learn them all one at a time. You can't practice many moves every time you practice. You must learn to do things one at a time and once you've mastered a certain move, you can proceed with another one.

Even if Frisbee is among the non-contact sports, you still need to be extra careful when doing stunts like that. There are times when you can hit another person or you're the one who will get injured. Being careless is not a good attitude. You must always be aware of the people around you especially once you've thrown the disc.

Playing Frisbee is really fun. You will get some exercise while you're playing with your friends and you can even meet new acquaintances. It'll be more fun to play this game if all the players know some neat tricks so that the game will not be very boring. You can also teach the move to your friends if you like.

Most sports medicine professionals can all readily agree that those athletes who take the time to really care for their bodies experience far fewer injuries than those who act reckless with regard to their health. It is really important to remember exactly what a benefit stretching provides when you are trying to decide if spending time stretching is worth it. The exact benefits are almost limitless, however there are some specific benefits that virtually all athletes should experience.

Amongst the benefits of stretching there are the improvements to your circulations, range of motions, posture, overall performance and even your ability to relax after working out. However this is not all that stretching provides, it also helps you decrease the tension in muscles and can even assist in reducing overall joint stiffness that can occur after a work out. The overall benefit of stretching is possible to achieve in as little as 10 minutes before starting an actual workout, which makes it very easy to work into any routine that you are exploring.

By properly ensuring that you are stretching, you are not only providing the benefits to your body, but you are also able to reduce the number of times you are forced to go to the doctor over an injury. Most athletes would rather be playing their favorite sport rather than sitting in a doctor's office being treated. However, while most athletes would prefer not to spend time being treated, it is still important to seek treatment for all injuries that occur rather than leaving them unattended.

With proper attention paid to stretching in addition to an appropriate exercise routine it is possible to greatly reduce the number of injuries that occur. While not all injuries can be avoided by stretching, it can help to reduce the severity of many injuries as well as reducing the overall number of injuries. It is highly important to work with a coach or other sports medicine professional to develop a routing for stretching that is most effective for your individual lifestyle as well as body type.

Especially important for athletes is discussing their workout habits and any previous injuries when selecting a stretching routine. By carefully choosing the proper exercises and stretches it is possible to help protect against further injury, and really tailor the workout to your exact individual needs. However, just merely stretching to stretch can sometimes void the benefits if the stretches are not the proper type. For example, if you are a runner and focus more emphasis on stretching your arms you are going to see fewer benefits than someone who stretches their back as well as legs before actually running.

Deciding with your sports medicine team the appropriate exercises, number of repetitions and all other pertinent details of your stretching program also helps to ensure that your entire team knows exactly what you are doing, and can make modifications and adjustments based upon what you need as an individual, as well as what you need to improve your overall athletic ability. It is very important to carefully select exercises that are appropriate for your needs at the time of the warm up as well. This means specifically, if you have an injury to your hamstring muscle, you should give it some rest for a couple of days at a minimum.

This brings to light the importance of talking to your doctor and learning to listen to your body. If you feel as if the stretches you are doing cause you more harm than they help, it is time to rework your routine and change how you are treating your body. Remember, changing the types of stretches that you do is perfectly acceptable especially when you are healing from an injury. Working to keep your body in the best overall condition possible is your ultimate goal and working towards that goal often means having to make adjustments to a routine, often at the last minute.

They are notorious for causing injuries and even death, but with the proper safety precautions your chances of injury can be reduced. ATV's are powerful machines that are designed to traverse difficult terrain. They can de difficult to handle and the nature of the riding you can do is dangerous in itself. If you want to stay safe while riding, there are some general safety tips you should follow.

Having experience is the best way to ensure you drive safely. Before you buy your first ATV, make sure you become acquainted with their operation and try one out if possible. There is a wealth of information online about how to properly handle an ATV and proper driving techniques. You should also study the owner's manual to get insight on how to safely drive your ATV.

After you purchase your ATV you should drive with others that are experienced and observe safe driving techniques. The best way to learn how to navigate rough terrain with your ATV is to watch experienced riders navigate. You should begin your ATV hobby by riding on easy, level terrain so that you can get acquainted with your ATV. Taking a training class is also a good way to learn how to safely operate your ATV. Some states require minors to take safety classes prior to being able to ride and they are a good idea for everyone.

No matter how experienced a rider you are, you will inevitably take a few falls. The best way to protect yourself is to wear safety gear at all times. A helmet is a must along with gloves and goggles. You should also wear pants and a jacket that are designed for riding and durable.

They will protect your arms and legs from abrasions and not tear as easily as normal clothes. Many injures occur because riders do not wear proper safety gear and these injuries could be avoided if riders wear safety gear. Make sure your helmet fits properly and if you do take a serious fall you should replace it if it takes impact.

Another way to stay safe when riding an ATV is to make sure you can handle your machine. Larger more powerful ATV's can be hard to handle and you need to make sure that you can control the ATV you choose. If you have a hard time controlling a large ATV, you can always get a smaller one that will be easier to manage. Make sure you get plenty of practice and are comfortable with your ATV before you tackle tough terrain.

Another safety precaution that seems obvious but causes many injuries is driving under the influence of alcohol. Never operate an ATV if you have been drinking, you can endanger your life and the life of others. ATV's take skill and precaution to operate safely and all ATV owners should follow safety rules. Proper safety equipment and experience will go a long way to keep you safe while on your ATV.

The earliest models had six wheels instead of the four that riders are now familiar with. Honda was the first company to make the 3-wheel ATV in 1970. These were famously displayed in the James Bond film, 'Diamonds Are Forever.' Originally called the US90, the ATV was purely for fun, made with very large balloon tires instead of the mechanical suspension and smaller tires eventually introduced in the early 1980s.

One of the most important versions of the ATV was the 1982 Honda ATC200E Big Red. It was a landmark model in that it featured suspension and racks. This made it the first utility three-wheeled ATV available on the market. It was popular due to its ability to go anywhere on any type of terrain. The fact that it could go over types of terrain that most other vehicles could not eventually made it very popular with hunters in both the US and Canadian. It was also very appealing to those who were looking for nothing more than an exciting ride on the trails.

Soon Honda broke new ground by developing sport models. Honda seemed to have a virtual monopoly on the market, due to its patents on design and engine placement. The 1981 ATC250R was important because it was the first high-performance three-wheeler, featuring full suspension, a 248-cubic-centimetre two-stroke motor, a five-speed transmission with a manual clutch and a front disc brake. For those who enjoyed the sporting trail, the 1983 ATC200X was another in a series of landmark machines. It was developed with an easy-to-handle 192-cubic-centimetre four-stroke. This simple design was seemingly perfect for new participants in the sport.

Honda soon found itself competing with Suzuki. Suzuki led the industry in the development of 4-wheeled ATVs. It sold the first 4-wheeled ATV, the 1983 QuadRunner LT125, used primarily as a recreational machine for those who were just beginning to ride ATVs. In 1985, Suzuki stepped up their game when they introduced the first high-performance 4-wheel ATV, the Suzuki LT250R QuadRacer. This ATV was in production from 1985-1992, during which time it underwent three major engineering makeovers. This vehicle became the ATV known as designed primarily for racing by highly skilled riders.

Honda then responded a year later with the FourTrax TRX250R. This ATV has never been replicated.

Kawasaki joined the battle to develop better ATVs when they introduced their Tecate-4 250. In 1987, Yamaha introduced a different type of high-performance machine - the Banshee 350. The Banshee 350 featured a twin-cylinder two-stroke motor from the RD350LC street motorcycle. This ATV was heavier and more difficult to ride in the dirt than the 250s .It soon became a favorite with riders who preferred the sand dunes. The Banshee is still a hugely popular machine, but 2006 was the last year it was available in the U.S. Riders will be able to pick up a 2007 model in Canada, however.

ATVs were first introduced to the buying public in the 1970s. They immediately caught on with those who were interested in doing something different outdoors. Original versions featured much larger tires and were offered in both 3-wheeled and 4-wheeled models. Soon, though, the 3-wheeled models of the ATV were prohibited, as they gained a reputation for being too dangerous. ATVs have since undergone a number of cosmetic and mechanical changes. Companies such as Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha have developed a number of models that serve ATV riders of all tastes and interests.

For over one hundred years, great athletes have traversed vast roads and steep mountain climbs in France for the title of world's greatest cyclist. It's hard to believe, then, that the historic race began as a publicity stunt for a newspaper!

In 1903, the publishers of the French newspaper L'Auto wanted to outdo the cycling race promoted by a rival newspaper. The paper's cycling journalist, Géo Lefèvre, came up with idea to have a race throughout France, separated by stages. He discussed it with editor Henri Desgrange after lunch, and the idea took off. In January, the first ever Tour de France was announced.

However, many details had to be ironed out before the race could even begin. Originally, the race was planned to be an incredible five weeks long. Unfortunately, that proved to be intimidating to most cyclists, as only just over a dozen were willing to take on a race of that magnitude. By cutting the length severely to a total of nineteen days, more entrants were enticed to give it a try. It also didn't hurt that participants were given a daily allowance for their efforts. The changes increased the participation in the inaugural Tour de France by four times the original number of riders, to sixty.

The participants themselves were almost exclusively French, with a handful of riders from other countries, mostly Germany, Sweden, or Italy. The riders included some personalities that captured the imaginations of French cycling fans, such as the 20-year old Lucien Pothier and experienced cyclist Maurice Garin. Many of the riders, attracted by the promise of the daily allowance, were amateur cyclists, or unemployed and simply looking for something to do with themselves. Fans also were intrigued by the sheer scope of the race, and the fact that some of the stages were so long that riders had to keep cycling on into the night.

Maurice Garin took an early lead once the race started, taking the first stage during the ride from Paris to Lyon. He held on to the overall lead, even as Hyppolite Aucouturier won the next two stages. Despite this spirited challenge, Garin won the last six stages, and the first ever Tour de France. Garin was actually quite dominant, finishing over two hours ahead of the afore-mentioned youngster, Lucien Pothier. Fernand Augereau rounded out the top three cyclists in the first race.

There was definitely a disparity in talent in the first race, as the adventurous nature of the race attracted even the most unorthodox of challengers. In fact, Garin finished over 64 hours ahead of the last place finisher, Arsene Millocheau of France. Again, this only endeared the Tour de France to those who were already intrigued by the massive race.

The 1903 installment of the Tour de France served its purpose not only by launching the overwhelmingly successful cycling championship that has lasted over one hundred years, but also by giving L'Auto the publicity and sales bump that its editors so badly wanted. During the race itself, readership of the newspaper almost tripled, as a matter of fact.

The riders themselves would continue on into the next year. Garin, Pothier, and Aucouturier would compete in the 1904 Tour de France, which was a ragtag affair marred by cheating and occasional riots by fans. All three would end up being disqualified, which kept Garin from winning his second straight Tour de France.

From such humble beginnings, an annual spectacle known the world over has resulted. Throughout the last one hundred and five years, heroes as well as villains have emerged to succeed the likes of Garin and Pothier. Almost as amazing as the athletes that compete in the Tour de France is the fact that the race itself came from such a humble and unassuming beginning, as a race organized to promote a simple French newspaper.

At first glance, it's easy to tell Utility and Sport ATV's apart, and many people will eliminate one class of these quads solely on appearance. However, other than size, there are some important differences between Utility and Sport quads that you might want to take into consideration if you are looking for a new ATV, or the next time you go riding.

If you're looking to do some work, or take a quad deep into uncharted wilderness, a Utility ATV with a winch is probably the best choice for you. Although Utilities are perhaps not as extreme as a Sport quad on level ground, Utility quads can crawl over or through terrain and mud that would swallow a Sport quad alive. Although the additional size, weight, and low end torque, not to mention the optional four wheel drive, give utility quads a huge edge in dicey terrain, there are many other features that allow a Utility get through the really rough stuff. Many Utilities have a locking differential to climb out of deep mud holes and other situations where traction is a problem. The differential will either make all the wheels turn at the same speed or shift torque to the wheels that aren't slipping. Most Utility quads also have independent suspension on all four wheels, allowing it to keep in contact with the ground and keep you in control no matter where you're at. In most utilities, the suspension is tuned to give a soft and predictable ride that insulates riders from bumps in the trail. These features draw many people to Utility quads, especially if they plan on using it for hunting or work around the farm. However, many people overlook Sport quads, even though they may be more suited for their riding style.

If you want to have the power and performance to simply pull away from your buddies on the trail, or carve a corner like you never thought possible, you should try a sport quad. Sport quads are engineered for quick acceleration and bursts of speed. Sport quads are designed to be run hard for optimal performance, and can stand up to hours of high-speed riding. The gearing is aggressive and the suspension is stiff for digging into corners, which is one of the complaints that many people have about Sport quads. However, you can adjust the tension and range of your suspension to give you a stiffer or softer ride, but if you soften the ride you will inevitably get more body lean and less performance. One factor not to be overlooked is the ease of getting a Sport ATV airborne and landing it gracefully. Some people can land jumps that put them over 100 feet in the air or do a back flip with small and maneuverable Sport ATVs. Although you may not feel up to flipping an ATV under any circumstances, hitting jumps is a lot of fun once you get comfortable.

Utility quads were originally designed to be worked, but recent years have seen Utilities get a lot sportier and more suited to recreational riding. Sport quads are also getting more user friendly, which gives them more appeal. Although each category of ATV has its advantages and disadvantages, in 2006 Yamaha made a very successful attempt at bridging the gap between Sport and Utility ATV with their 450 Wolverine, which combines the best features of both classes of ATVs. It is a light ATV with sport-like handling, but it has four-wheel drive and is balanced for high speed performance, but has the comfort and low-end power for rough terrain.

Essentially, Utility and Sport quads have different angles on how to have fun off-road. Sport bikes are designed for all-out speed and handling, while utilities seem like a Cadillac in comparison-they're bigger, heavier, slower, but much more comfortable to ride. The type of ATV that is best for you will depend on your riding style, and how far you want to push you quad and what kind of obstacles you want to use to test the limits of your quad. However, with the popularity of Yahama's Wolverine, you can expect to see several crossover ATV's in the next couple years.

One of the best extreme sports is mountain biking. It will keep you fit and at the same time, let you enjoy nature. If you are a hiker, you will find the experience quite similar, except that in hiking, you walk and in mountain biking, you ride a bike. You will exercise in both of them and you will be close to nature in both of them as well.

How Do I Start Off?

You need a fair amount of stamina and endurance to start mountain biking. A little, know how about the working and repairs of bikes is also required. Just in case you have a flat somewhere in the midst of wilderness, miles away from civilization, this information can save your life. The first thing that you need is a bike. If you are an amateur who is starting off in this sport, you need to start off with a basic mountain bike that is not too expensive. Do not buy anything over and beyond $500 even if the salesman tries to sell you one.

You can look out for used bikes to start with. There are various websites that auction/sell such bikes online. A good and sturdy used bike might just be perfect to start. See if any of your friends have bikes that they want to sell off. Also, check if there are any biking clubs in your area. Getting in touch with these guys will give you a lot of information about trails and bikes. Try the bike before you buy it. The comfort level, the fit should all suit you.

Trails

There are many types of trails in mountain biking. You may not want to start off with one that is not for your skill set. Depending on what state you are in, try searching on Google for biking trails. Go for a simple downhill trail. Try one, which will not exert you too much. If you go for an advanced trail you will find many bumps and curves on the trail, which might leave you bruised and battered in the end. So, stick to a basic one.

Safety Gears

Do not try to race if you are biking in a group. Also, make sure that you wear helmets, kneepads and also goggles if you are riding in a densely forested area. Safety is a very important thing and should never be neglected.
