- What tools and resources do allergy sufferers turn to on the web? How do they perceive the drug Xyzal? Which treatments are highly regarded in general, and which experience factors contribute to overall sentiment?

These were some of the key questions our client, pharmaceutical leader UCB, wanted answered in this Web Insight project.

 http://www.orbitsville.com/news/Stockholm-wins-first-European-Green-Capital-Award.aspx

24 February 2009
 - We're thrilled that earlier today Stockholm was announced as the first European Green Capital City for 2010. From the announcement:

“Some 95% of the population live less than 300 metres from green areas that improve the local quality of life, bringing recreation, water purification, noise reduction, and an enhancement of biodiversity and ecology.”

This shows that our home city (our HQ is in Stockholm) believes in, and commits to, our environment in a way that is a source of pride for everyone who lives here.

At Orbitsville we believe in doing green business. In November 2008 we joined the Klimatpakten initiative launched by the city. As part of our membership we have pledged to cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 10% before the end of 2010.

To encourage the people around us to do the same we offer perks and discounts to clients with a strong eco commitment.

 http://www.orbitsville.com/news/We-launch-Greenville-and-offer-perks-to-eco-consci.aspx

19 December 2008
 - Today we launch Greenville, a section of our web site dedicated to promoting an ecologically conscious way of doing marketing and running a business. It includes tips on how organisations can improve their initiatives in four key areas while helping the environment.

Greenville was originally an internal company effort. By launching this section we want to show you that we put our money where our mouths are before asking you to follow our lead. Our eco statement outlines what we are doing, and have done since 2001, to help our shared environment. This includes joining the City of Stockholm Klimatpakten climate initiative where we pledge to meet the goal of reducing our greenhouse gases by 10% by the end of 2010.

We also want to encourage our clients to adopt a green business policy. That is why we will offer perks and discounts to organisations with a strong eco commitment. They will be added to our Greenville pages and promoted as part of future eco projects.

Daniel Bevan at Orbitsville UK is one of our Greenville advocates:
- For us taking green for granted means living up to sustainable and ecologically sound ways of doing business without thinking about it, allowing it to become second nature. Green is after all the natural state of things in the online world. To distribute a campaign message on paper you need to kill trees, use chemicals, electricity and petrol. To do it online you only need to click.

 11 December 2008, Stockholm
 - Swedish-British interactive agency Orbitsville have been commissioned to conceive, brand, design and build the official events and visitors guide for Stockholm Design Week 2009.

Orbitsville's plan is to make the website a destination both before and during the February event. Instead of simply providing venue information and opening hours, the site will put Design Week’s visitors-to-be at the forefront, making it easy for them to create and save their own online itineraries.

The website will also list worthwhile galleries, stores, bars and restaurants on interactive maps, all with the aim to help attendees plan their time in Stockholm. Additional functionality is planned.

The website, billed as a "guide to a city of design ", will support various other official event websites, including that of the Stockholm Furniture Fair.

6 November 2008 -
What is it, where, and is it worth our time and attention? Those are the three questions we attempt to answer when we look at the hundreds of industry events that take place around the world every year. The result is our Industry Event Calendar; a handpicked list of get-togethers we think should be on everyone's radar.

This is in essence our internal events calendar that we have chosen to share, and as such it represents our subjective view of the web world. It is by no means set in stone. It will change and evolve as we do our best to find and attend the conferences, events, seminars and expos that will help us grow, learn and ultimately serve our clients better.

We hope you find it useful. If you are attending the same events as we are, let your Orbitsville contact know so that we can meet up.

Starting today, the calendar is live at

 30 July 2008
 - There are few things as exciting as moving to a new office space.

It's not just a new "home" for our team. It is a reflection of our growing and changing needs, a sign that where we are today (and where we will be tomorrow) has moved on from yesterday. And that is only ever a good thing.

Our new UK office space is located in the stunning Adelphi Mill, a former cotton mill built in 1868. It sits right on the Macclesfield canal and close to the A523 (known as "The Silk Road").

There are over 50 other exciting businesses here, covering everything from health and medical communications, to advertising, fashion and energy. In other words, we are in good company.

 9 July 2008
 - Our good friend Thed Björk continues to shine in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC). On 14 June Thed won the Gothenburg City Race in front of 30 000 roaring spectators and was named “The King of Gothenburg” by a Swedish television network.

At Orbitsville we are very proud to be one of Thed's long-time sponsors.

We were with Thed in 2006 when he won his first STCC championship as a driver for KMS/Audi, and also during last year's fourth place overall finish.

This season Thed drives for Honda and we are very pleased to be right there in the car with him – literally, we have our name on his helmet – as he goes for a second championship crown.

Love emla™.

Social media helps people share their stories

11 June 2008

We are proud to announce the release of the emla™ campaign website at www.ihateneedles.co.uk on behalf of AstraZeneca.

Our client's main purpose with the campaign is to increase awareness with consumers about the local anaesthetic cream and its intended uses.

AstraZeneca generously gave us the freedom to drive the overall concept, design and development of both the emla campaign site and the accompanying banner campaign.

At the heart of the campaign is a social media initiative where people are encouraged to share their emla stories by uploading photos or videos. Visitors to the site can even record a video message straight in to the website using their web cams, making it even easier to participate.

The stories are then voted and commented on by the site's visitors and at the end of the campaign the winners will receive prizes from AstraZeneca.

Daniel Bevan oversaw the project on behalf of Orbitsville.

"We created a foundation for AstraZeneca to gather information about the different types of problems people have with needlephobia and skin discomfort. The stories about the issues people face automatically reveal the benefits of utilising emla cream.

This is the first time a pharmaceutical company in the UK has used social media in this way. It is a groundbreaking project."

 9 June 2008
 – Orbitsville's Jaan Orvet is featured in the latest issue of Pharmaceutical Marketing Europe.Talking to Selina Denman about the true meaning of social media, Jaan's comments and views represent the forward looking approach we feel companies need to subscribe to in order to have success within the “social” field.

He also stresses the uniqueness of social media as opposed to more traditional channels.

“Note how there is no mention of ‘deploying messages’ or ‘penetrating core groups’ or any other marketing speak in the definition of social media. Social media is about conversation, about honesty and about behaving like a person and not a corporation. It’s not something you can fake or throw money at to make it work. After all, you don’t buy friends or credibility. Both come with time and commitment.”

 21 April 2008, Stockholm
 – For the second year in a row Orbitsville is heading out west to attend the Web 2.0 Expo event in San Francisco.

This year the sessions and workshops are in large part focused on social media and its place in the business world. At Orbitsville we have team members that have worked with the "social web" for many years, and will be highly involved in the informal discussions at the event.

The Expo is also a great opportunity for us to meet with the people in our network that we don't get to see live and in person very often.

If you or someone you know would like to meet up, contact Jaan Orvet at

 jaan.orvet@orbitsville.com

or just say hello in the hallways of the Moscone West.

26 March 2008, Stockholm
 – Orbitsville will once again attend PharmaBrand Summit, Europe’s premium pharmaceutical marketing forum. The event will be held at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in Geneva 16-18 June.

This year Orbitsville will conduct a workshop as part of the official program. Jaan Orvet, Orbitsville’s Communications Director will speak on the topic of "Exploring the true meaning of social media and its promise beyond the hype".

- The pharmaceutical industry is buzzing with ideas and promises on how to make “social media” a marketing reality. Lost in all this hype is the true meaning of social media. While the online population already sees social online interaction as part of their everyday lives, marketing departments have some catching up to do when it comes to understanding what social media actually is, and why credibility in this area is reliant on being engaged in conversation, being open, contributing and sharing."

Andreas Vezzoli, Orbitsville's CEO:

- PharmaBrand is a one of the best opportunities for us to present a number of ideas that we have embraced and that we see as invaluable to the industry. This will be a workshop well worth attending.
