Another inspiring TED Talk.

Do watch this, who knows may be you could learn a stuff or two from this and change your future! I mean come on, which world I am in? Every time I read a blog or watch a TED video, I am extremely happy that I was born in this century, with these people around me and I must be a worthy companion in their travel. I know I am going a bit sassy here, but I have to tell this some time. Watch out, there is one more TED talk coming tomorrow. I can’t wait to share!

You must be under the deepest of rocks if you have not seen this, it’s even on today’s The Hindu newspaper, thanks to @deepakurup. Please watch this genius invention, making it possible to do what Tom Cruise did in Minority report.

One more week and One more book. I guess I could go back to January 2009 and take this as a New year resolution and come back!  I am amazed at my own reading skills. Enough of myself!.

This book is provides certain deep research into commonly overlooked success stories, It would be surprising for some who has never thought in this frame of mind, but somehow, most of these stuff I felt, my parents have always advised. For example, put in extra efforts for a long period, get up early, and many such known things, but I guess they are all ‘news’ to Americans. Overall a good book but certainly not recommended, if you are going to spend Rs 400/- like me to read this

Don’t miss this one!

Wow! and that should say all. Within reading the first few pages of this book, I started liking it. There were some digression, unwarranted about the fringe characters, but that I guess is to keep the trivia quotient intact. Then it is pure business tsunami.

The whole book is written in a style which takes to unknown, exotic and down right obscure places. It talks about real life heros and the world as it is. I agree that there has been considerable censor, but still it lets you feel the outline and what you can expect. Come on, this is as big as it can get and hence you know how it would have been.

I feel Aditya has not been given a good coverage, and a Autobiography by Lakshmi Mittal would be a good complement to this. Of the whole book, I liked it most in two places. One, when Michael Zaoui sells himself to Kinsch and other when Lakshmi Mittal says he is not stoyc.

I think I am going to read this book. again. many times. Highly recommended.

Finished this book called Freakonomics recently, I say finished because I was waiting to finish. Just a bunch of trivia and lot of ‘Masala’, covers this book. I do not say it is essentially a bad book, but freak things cannot be called a type of economics. That’s a bit too far at least given what is there in this book. I would have rather read a fiction, at least I knew it is a waste of time, and would not be disappointed at the end of the day. Trash it.

Another book review in a short span! Actually the previous one was written a week ago and kept in draft. I thought I will update some more info, but then realized I had nothing much to say!

Okay, coming to this one, “Free” by Chris Anderson is a quick and enjoyable read. It is so contemporary I sometimes felt I am reading a blog rather than a book. The general Idea he is trying to say is that in the digital business, no longer money comes before. Duh! we would feel. But I think there are so many guys out there who still think they should charge for email and twitter. This book is for them. For us, it is just reassuring that at least some one realizes why Internet is Hip. Recommended.

I recently finished this book, and I should say overall I am happy that I took this.  This book does not seem to follow a pattern of writing and neither its contents are in chronological order, but I am just saying. It really helps to know what you have avoided. It makes you feel happy that you were not born a decade ago.  There are also some great moments on insight and a very street smart analysis of getting things done in India. Recommended.

A very interesting TED talk, of course all TED talks are interesting, but I am just amazed at this guy’s ability to think so out of box!
