The 2012 Spring Newsletter includes a tentative tournament calendar for next season, a list of district committee members, minutes of the May 7 Executive Committee meeting, and an article about new directions for the League.

SPRING ELECTIONS:

Congratulations to Mike Amstutz (Cleveland), Nick Bollas (Canton), Lyle Linerode (Tarhe Trails) and Dolores Muller (Tarhe Trails) -- all elected to begin three-year terms of office on May 7. Complete results can be seen on the About>Executive Committee page.

District chairpersons will be communicating with coaches in their districts about forming District Committees for next year. Please notify the League Office by the first of May regarding committee personnel.

COACHING POSITION: NORTH CANTON HOOVER

Hoover is once again looking for a debate coach who can coach L/D and PF. We have a fairly competitive stipend to offer. Please feel free to pass my information along to anyone in the Akron/Canton area who you believe may be interested. Contact Missy Stertzbach at mstertz1970@gmail.com.

COACHING POSITION: ST. IGNATIUS

St. Ignatius is seeking a speech and computer skills teacher beginning with the 2012-2013 school year. This includes teaching Oral Interpretation and Computer Literacy to freshmen and upper levl courses in the Fine Arts Department. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in communications and have a command of a wide variety of computer software. It is desirable that the candidate have a certificate/license in communications or English language arts. Special consideration will e given to applicants who have proven ability in directing student dramatic and musical productions and/or can coach forensics. COACHING POSITION: LOUISVILLE

Kelly Ladd has decided to step back from forensics for a year. She sent this email: " Louisville is looking for a head coach for next year. In particular they are looking for someone with five or less years of experience, and the applicant should have a license in English Language arts." Anyone interested in the position should contact Kelly at ladd@louisville.sparcc.org.

Find results for State Tournaments 2009-2011 on the Archives page. The goal is to scan results for previous years and add them to the Archives. This area is still a "work in progress," so bear with us as we juggle the pages.
