Nordpil is proud to announce that three of our maps have been accepted for volume 28 of the ESRI Map Book, due out in July 2013. The publication showcases examples of high-quality maps prepared using geographic information systems (GIS).

UArctic thematic networks

Nordpil was contracted by the University of the Arctic (UArctic) to prepare a new set of maps showing the university’s thematic networks. The 26 thematic networks include a number of partner institutions that participate in UArctic’s network of centers of higher education around the circumpolar Arctic.

SAON inventory

Nordpil was contracted by the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) secretariat to summarize and catalog an inventory of Arctic monitoring infrastructure and programs for the Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks (SAON) initiative.

Borneo map

Nordpil was contracted to prepare a map for a report from the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) on conflicts over water, biofuels and palm-oil plantations in Borneo. The report was released in 2012.

Swedish forestry

The SEI report Climate change adaptation in Swedish forestry: a historical overview, 1990–2012 features maps, charts and table layouts prepared by Nordpil. The report covers the challenges and events in the recent times that silviculture in Sweden has faced, including the storms Gudrun and Per.

AMAP videos

The Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) recently set up an extensive video library containing videos on pollution and climate change in the Arctic. Nordpil assisted the client by documenting and uploading clips, and by developing a structure for the library.
