Don't Hide Your Text

There was a time when a spammer would hide text from either the user or a search engine. This technique doesn't work because Google is really good at catching spam. This article discusses some common spam tatics that should not be used.

Joomla 1.6 Geshi

GeSHi is a "generic syntax highlighter", originally designed for the phpBB forum system. It is licensed under the GNU general public license (open source). This article describes gotchas, fixes and improvements related to the stock install of GeSHi in Joomla 1.6.

Redirect Based On Browser (user agents)

There are a number of situations where you may need to redirect the browser based on the user agent of the browser. An example would be to an IE6 page, or a smartphone modified subdomain.

I would like to thank everyone that took the time to checkout my new web site template. The feedback I received from Tweets, IM, text messages, IRC and email were really helpful.

Over 300 unique visitors took a look at the site on launch date. Almost 50% where from twitter which really inspires me to get writing about interesting stuff.

I'm going to take this opportunity to rant about the problems I've had over the last few days with the site, including RSS and Joomla 1.6.
