Paramount+ Begins Trialing Free Tier on Android Devices

Paramount+ is building out a free tier to lure cost-conscious viewers

Paramount+ is looking to level up by making more of its content free.

Paramount's flagship streamer plans to expand access to movies and shows available to people without a subscription, according to an internal presentation viewed by Business Insider.

This so-called "free front porch" feature would allow people in the US to watch select movies and shows at no cost by registering for a free account, the presentation said.

The free tier rollout is expected to begin in the third quarter with the Paramount+ mobile app, and was listed as a "Q3 Product Priority" during a town hall on Wednesday [July 22], along with a plan to test micro dramas.

Business Insider reported in January that Paramount+ was exploring a push into "free content" after viewing an internal presentation sent by Dan Reich, the Paramount+ head of global product and design.

Paramount already has free streamer Pluto TV, which it's putting on the same tech platform as its namesake streamer in a process called "convergence." Paramount+ also has had a limited selection of free TV episodes on its website.

Although paid streamers usually don't allow access to shows without a subscription, Apple TV lets users sample shows, and Business Insider reported that Disney+ is exploring free content.

Hollywood is increasingly seeing the value of free as YouTube and other free-to-access services gain viewers amid price hikes at paid streamers.

A free tier can 'drive acquisition and winbacks'

Expanding the free offering on Paramount+ — which costs $8.99 a month with ads or $13.99 without ads — would give new users "less friction to browse and watch" and "more reasons to sign up," according to the presentation.

By requiring users to register with their emails to watch free content, Paramount brings potential customers one step closer to subscribing and can send them marketing emails to convince them to pay.

The slide deck said this strategy can "drive acquisition and winbacks" (bringing back past customers who've canceled) by building habits and giving them a reason to keep the Paramount+ app on their phones.

Paramount said it did A/B tests on its iOS app and found that "moving the paywall didn't harm paid starts," or new subscriptions.

Paramount+ will let users watch its short-form vertical video feed without registering or subscribing, the presentation said.

While Paramount is "defining success targets" for the free front porch with its finance and marketing teams, the presentation indicated that it will evaluate its success by seeing how many account registrations it drives and by the marketing emails that it sends.

Besides hooking potential customers on its shows, Paramount can also use its free tier to grow advertising revenue and inventory. The presentation said monetizing free content with ads was a strategic goal.

Show samples can "drive reach and visit frequency," the presentation said.

The best things in life are free

David Ellison's company is trying to gain ground on Netflix and take on YouTube by pushing into free streaming and short-form content, including micro dramas.

Audiences are increasingly gravitating toward free streamers, which have significantly increased their share of viewership on US TVs in recent years relative to their paid peers, according to Nielsen.

The top three free streaming services — YouTube, The Roku Channel, and Tubi — had an 18.7% viewership share on US TVs in April, the latest month that Nielsen data is available. A year earlier, that figure was 16.8%, and it was 12.7% in April 2024.

By contrast, large paid streamers like Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu have only grown their viewership shares slightly in the last two years.

Meanwhile, Paramount+ and Pluto TV have struggled in the year since April 2025, with their viewership share falling from 2.4% to 2.1% in April 2026.

Inside ‘Hollywood Arts,’ the ‘Victorious’ Spinoff Set to Introduce a New Wave of Young Talent

Last fall, Daniella Monet had what she describes as a “surreal” experience. She was again walking the halls of Hollywood Arts, the fictional elite performing arts high school that set the scene for her breakout role as Trina Vega on the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious. But instead of being surrounded by her former costars on a soundstage on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, she found herself among a new generation of fresh-faced actors on a set that had been eerily re-created in Vancouver.

That feeling of déjà vu was a regular occurrence for Monet while working on Hollywood Arts, a new series that premieres Thursday, October 15 on Netflix. (The first half of the 26-episode order, including the two-part pilot that has been combined into one 50-minute episode, will debut in mid-October; the second half will drop at a later date.)

In this spinoff, created by Victorious writer-producer Jake Farrow (who also voiced the abrasive puppet Rex Powers on the show) and Samantha Martin, Trina returns to her alma mater to act as a substitute for recently retired acting teacher, Erwin Sikowitz (Eric Lange). Trina’s initial hope is to jumpstart her own struggling acting career through well-connected “nepo baby” students, but she unexpectedly discovers a knack for nurturing young talent.

As Monet explains to Teen Vogue in a first look at Hollywood Arts, being a real teacher was not on Trina’s “bingo card, but there was something about it that hit something for her that gave her purpose.” Despite spending the last 15 years stuck in the shadow of her gifted younger sister, Tori (Victoria Justice), Trina is still intimately familiar with showbiz. “Not everyone has to be this huge star to understand what it takes,” Monet continues. “Trina’s not afraid to go for it. That’s a really great skill when it comes to opening up the minds of kids who are looking to explore their own talents.”

Although Martin insists that she and Farrow made “no concerted effort” to create characters reminiscent of the original Victorious ensemble, the comparisons remain inevitable. At the heart of this new offshoot is another eccentric friend group: Emmy (Alyssa Miles), a tech producer secretly harboring a passion for performing; silly, airheaded Pepper (Emmy Liu-Wang), who is also fiercely loyal to her friends; Qwest (Peyton Jackson), a musical genius hiding his talent behind a fake basketball scholarship; Jen Z (Erika Swayze), a sharp-tongued, neglected rich girl; and Oscar (Martin Kamm), Emmy’s self-serious, floppy-haired brother who is struggling in the shadow of her rising stardom at school.

School Is Back in Session

In the 13 years since Victorious was unceremoniously canceled without a proper finale, Farrow says that he had always been angling for a return to Hollywood Arts. (Sam & Cat—the first spinoff of both iCarly and Victorious, starring Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande—lasted only one season, ending in 2014.) Over the years, according to Monet, the Victorious cast members have mused over what a potential reunion or continuation could look like.

But in March 2024—while filming a Hallmark Christmas movie, her first acting role in five years after stepping back to have children—Monet received a call from Farrow asking if she would be interested in revisiting Trina. “Like anyone else would’ve felt, I was a little shocked,” Monet recalls of hearing Farrow’s pitch. “To take a show that was so special in that time and has lived on for so many years, and to actually have someone propose the idea of bringing any version of that back, I think I had to process the idea of that. It was a little hard to believe that it was possible.”

Unbeknownst to Monet at the time, Farrow had already spent the previous few months developing the idea with his former Henry Danger colleague Martin. (Coincidentally, Monet and Martin first met in 2004, when Monet starred opposite Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander on the short-lived CBS family sitcom Listen Up, which was created by Martin’s father, Jeff. Monet’s Listen Up character was largely inspired by Martin because they were the same age.)

Although Victorious was a hit for the generation just after hers, Martin felt that, having studied musical theater at New York University, she had already “lived” a version of the show. “As soon as I started watching Victorious, I was like, ‘Oh man, I wish that I were 10 years younger so this show could have been around when I was going through all of this,’” she recalls.

Farrow and Martin agreed that Trina was the most compelling Victorious character to explore, given that her trajectory was the least defined. Interestingly, though, Farrow and Martin say they were not nervous about tarnishing the legacy of Victorious; even now, the co-showrunners are “superconfident” that they have created a show that will appeal to devotees and newcomers alike.

For all of Monet’s excitement, she still had reservations. “It’s terrifying to reboot anything that had such a love and people think so fondly of. That fandom is so important. I wanted to do right by them,” she explains. Those people included the original main cast, all of whom Monet reached out to individually shortly before news broke in February 2025 that Hollywood Arts was in development. Even though many of her former castmates “are so busy and beyond those years,” Monet says, she still felt “such a strong obligation to have their blessing.”

“I felt much better with every single conversation because it was so supportive,” Monet says. “I remember Ariana saying something along the lines of, ‘This is your chance to make [a show that feels like] what Nickelodeon felt like for us.’ I watched Nick growing up, and there’s something that will always be special about Nickelodeon. Although there’s been so many iterations since then and the landscape is very different with streaming, there’s still such a need for this kind of content.” She adds over email, “Personally, it was my comfort network, so it would be really special to be able to be part of a show that could be that for another generation.”

Finding the Next Gen

Monet had a couple of mandates as an executive producer of Hollywood Arts: The sets had to feel the same, which, for her, meant rehiring Victorious assistant art director Tristan Dalley as the new production designer (Monet calls him “a living, breathing archive” who has maintained photos and original props); and Monet had to be directly involved in casting.

Between February and May 2025, before the spinoff was officially greenlit that June, more than 5,700 actors auditioned for the five central roles. Throughout the process, Monet personally reviewed self-tape auditions, sat in on Zoom callbacks, and ultimately participated in one-on-one virtual chemistry reads with the final three contenders for each role.

Above all else, Monet prioritized comedic skill. Before ensuring that the next generation could sing and dance, she wanted to make sure they were funny. “We’re lucky that we get to play in this familiar world, but let’s be fresh about it; let’s be really intentional,” she recalls saying. “Talent comes first.”

From the outset, the executive producers considered the chosen actors their “dream cast,” in part due to their contrasting music styles. And much like Victorious—which spawned iconic original hits like “Freak the Freak Out,” “Give It Up,” and “Take a Hint”—Hollywood Arts is jam-packed with a variety of music. “There are a fair amount of covers, original songs, some really cute Phoebe Buffay-style ditties,” Martin says. Backed by an “extremely generous” music budget from Netflix and Paramount, the show also features a surprising lineup of licensed tracks, including, Farrow says, “a Goo Goo Dolls needle drop” that he believes is “worth the price of admission.”

Slipping back into Trina’s shoes felt like second nature for Monet. She says she rediscovered the character’s voice almost instantly during those chemistry reads, and relished the opportunity to dive back into her signature physical comedy. “Our wardrobe stylist, Kelli [Dunsmore], was incredible about making Trina’s version of who she is slightly elevated, but still kind of ‘bad teacher,’” Monet says, describing her outfits as “edgy, but still grown up, youthful and silly” with “a lot of monochromatic” and color blocking.

“I love that Trina stays true to the character that she always was, but she’s grown up and there’s a little bit of character rehab going on,” Farrow adds. “She’s matured, and she’s become a better and more likable person.”

Monet has been particularly touched by how fans, as well as the Hollywood Arts writers, have given new meaning to a character once written purely for laughs. “People are looking for that permission to advocate for themselves and not be so self-aware all the time,” Monet says of Trina’s enduring appeal. “Trina is very unapologetically who she is; what she says is not filtered. You know that she’s not malicious by any means. She’s a little bit selfish, but I think it’s refreshing.”

Although the creative team has “the door open” for “legacy cast” to make guest appearances, Monet says, most of her former costars are waiting to see what the spinoff looks like before committing. Some, she adds, including Elizabeth Gillies and Avan Jogia, already have their own thoughts about where their characters would be today. “It’s important to honor that,” Monet says. “I think they’re all rallying behind me in their own way and curious and excited. We’ll see what the future holds.”

Martin reiterates that Hollywood Arts was always designed to “pass the torch to Trina and establish the new cast,” but Victorious fans “will be satisfied pretty quickly in both the pilot and then pretty shortly thereafter.” In fact, she notes, there’s “a really satisfying arc with a member of the original cast” in season one.

Even without many cameos, Victorious Easter eggs abound in Hollywood Arts. When Trina first enters Sikowitz’s classroom, which still has the painting of ducks playing poker hanging over the door, she is wearing a shirt with an original printed ticket from her signature one-woman show. In a later episode, she mentions buying a discounted pair of boots that look remarkably like Fazzinis. An early episode is centered around the lore of Tori’s school-famous locker. And, naturally, the students still eat lunch at the Asphalt Cafe near the Grub Truck.

Viewers, however, should not expect too much backstory about what happened to Trina after Victorious, including whether she ever made it to a production of Chicago—at least not yet. “There were so many points where we were like, ‘Where does Trina live?’” Monet says. “There’s a lot that we’re leaving unwrapped because we want to have time to explore that.”

She continues, “There’s only so much you can explore with all the episodes we were given, and we’re so grateful that we got to do so much, but I think there’s more there for sure.”

A New Beginning

Like anything in life, change is inevitable at Hollywood Arts. The series premiere will feature a brand-new theme song unveiled at the school’s “Big Showcase,” mirroring the original pilot where Tori famously performed “Make It Shine.” The pear-shaped phones from Victorious no longer exist in this universe, largely because, as Monet explains, “when we’re doing a green screen on a phone, nothing fits into a pear shape, so that’s hard [to do].” And while the new show retains the original’s sharp sense of humor, Farrow says, the tone has been updated to be a little less mean-spirited.

Most notably, Hollywood Arts’ social networking website, The Slap, has evolved into a TikTok-esque platform called The Dap. Farrow, who credits his own TikTok obsession since about 2020 for inspiring the change, describes The Dap as “what The Slap became”—a modern space where students “make and post content showing their talents,” while interacting with their followers in comment sections.

“Jake’s TikTok affinity is part of the reason that this show doesn’t feel like adults writing for kids. We really want this show to feel cool and current,” Martin adds. “We use [The Dap] in transitions between scenes to serve a little as a functional talking head. Characters talk about how they’re feeling, and it helps transition from scene to scene in a way that I think will feel comforting to people who loved the original. It serves a bit of a similar purpose [as The Slap], but also feels more current because it’s vertical and looks like you’re swiping.”

Hollywood Arts debuts just two years after Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Investigation Discovery’s explosive five-part docuseries about the toxic culture surrounding some children’s shows from the 1990s through the 2000s. The series focuses heavily on Victorious creator Dan Schneider during his tenure as Nickelodeon’s most powerful showrunner, and features interviews with several former child actors, including Drake & Josh star Drake Bell, who comes forward to reveal that he was the previously unnamed child actor sexually abused by dialogue coach Brian Peck behind the scenes. (Peck, who is of no relation to Bell's co-star Josh Peck, was ultimately sentenced to 16 months in prison and required to register as a sex offender.)

After the docuseries, Schneider apologized for his “embarrassing” behavior, including inappropriate jokes and routinely getting massages on set, in a YouTube video; but he has also sued the Quiet on Set producers for defamation, claiming that the series intimates he was also a sexual abuser, which he denies. (Teen Vogue has reached out to Schneider for additional comment.)

Multiple Victorious cast members have since reflected publicly on their time at the network. Justice spoke out about what she described as her “very complex” relationship with Schneider, while calling certain moments in his shows “in poor taste.” Grande and Gillies, who watched Quiet on Set together over FaceTime, each shared that they have both been “reprocessing” their time on the sitcom.

In the 2022 Business Insider investigation that preceded the docuseries, Monet criticized some of the hypersexualized content in Victorious, pointing to a specific scene where her character was directed to eat a pickle while applying lip gloss. Farrow, who was not quoted in Quiet on Set, was a presence across many of Schneider’s Nickelodeon shows; along with the shared iCarly and Victorious universe, he worked on Drake & Josh, Game Shakers, and the Henry Danger franchise.

While speaking with Teen Vogue, Farrow and Monet are focused on how they cultivated a much happier and healthier work culture on the Hollywood Arts set, an environment where the safety and protection of underaged actors is paramount to the producers. “That is a non-negotiable for Jake and me,” says Martin. (Farrow and Martin confirm that Schneider, who parted ways with Nickelodeon in 2018, “is in no way involved” with Hollywood Arts.)

“I’ve been watching showrunners since 1997,” Farrow says. “I was a writers’ assistant on Friends. I saw how David [Crane] and Marta [Kauffman] ran it. On Arrested Development, I saw how Mitchell Hurwitz ran it. I always watched these guys as, ‘This is how I would run a show if I ever have my own,’ so I’m finally getting to do that. And on the original [Victorious], in some ways, I learned how not to do it, and I’m not making the same mistakes.”

Monet says that she and the co-creators had a simple philosophy when hiring anyone: “It was basically like, ‘It’s good vibes or bust.’ We know so many people are capable of doing their job, but the feeling we get around everyone, that’s going to matter most,” Monet says. That meant always returning to one question: “Is our work environment going to be so fruitful and enjoyable that everyone’s going to not only want to be there, but they’re going to put their best foot forward and want to keep coming back?”

To that end, Monet, Farrow and Martin all lived in the same building as the main cast in Vancouver, where they filmed from last October until March. Not unlike Trina, Monet immediately assumed a maternal role with her younger counterparts: making them soup when they were sick; dropping off clothes and PR gifts at their doors; and gathering everyone for coffee runs or group workout sessions. Even when Farrow and Martin flew back to Los Angeles to spend weekends with their families, Monet often stayed behind with her greener costars.

“Anytime my family was around, they were truly the best big sisters, brothers, aunts, and uncles you could ever ask for. The most precious thing I could ask for is them being so sweet to my family and my kids,” says Monet. “It really felt like living together in a different place and them being away from their families for that long for the first time was so conducive to us creating this kind of unbreakable bond that I’d never really experienced [before].”

Accompanying his announcement appears to be an official look at the toys. Keep in mind, it could be AI — but the collabs all look very realistic and properly reflective of the characters' aesthetics.

The bad news is that if you don’t live in Australia or New Zealand, you're out of luck. It appears that this collab is for Australia and New Zealand only for the time being, however, the image does tease that collab may rollout in additional countries.

The promotion would follow McDonald's currently active Spider-Man: Brand New Day toy set in the Australia/NZ market. A specific launch date has not been posted on McDonald’s websites in either region at the time of posting.

Update (8/18) - The SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal collaboration has been confirmed!

The collaboration will be available with every purchase of a McDonald’s Happy Meal, and according to the official One Piece website, is happening this month (August 2026, subject to region) in the following countries:

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie opened in fourth place in the Box Office charts, and has so far made $20.5M.

Per Deadline:

Paramount/Spin Master’s PG-rated Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie overperformed at $20.5M and Warner Bros/Bad Robot’s The End of Oak Street came right around where NRG predicted at $21M.

That’s the second best opening in the Paw Patrol franchise after 2023’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty which debuted to $22.7M. Dino Movie received a second solid A for Paw Patrol after The Mighty. The 2021 Paw Patrol movie received an A- (puppies can’t always be perfect). Dino Movie also had a good 63% definite recommend for Dino Movie in Rentrak/Screen Engine PostTrak exits. The Mighty did a 2.87x multiple off its opening ending its U.S./Canada run at $65.3M. Dino Movie over performed in the South, South Central and Midwest with great playability in the middle of the country.

Typically, some of these kid franchises run a five-to-seven lifecycle before fading, but the preschool puppy IP has been strong for 13 years (this being Paramount’s third feature film with Spin Master) with renewed engagement on TV and streaming, merchandise sales, and live events. Jennifer Dodge, Paramount’s President of Animation, is behind this. She worked previously at Paw Patrol studio Spin Master, building out its entertainment division, and overseeing the franchise’s evolution from creative to toy line to now.

Paw Patrol: Dino Movie is more family friendly than End of Oak Street (hello, it’s about a family and they’re chased by dinosaurs, just like in Jurassic World), pulling in 50% parents, 36% kids under 12 and 14% general audiences.

Per PostTrak, Oak Street‘s inhabitants were 10% kids under 12 with 17% family adult. Diversity demos on Dino Movie was 43% Caucasian, 29% Latino and Hispanic, 14% Black, 8% Native American and other, and 6% Asian American.

The End of Oak Street landed a B CinemaScore, which is just under the B+ of August Warner PG-13 hit The Meg which debuted to $45.4M. Oak Street was tracking heavy with women because of the Anne Hathaway factor, but women over 25 were the second biggest to attend at 28% after men over 25 at 45%, followed by men under 25 at 14% and women under 25 at 13%. A meh 51% definite recommend overall for Oak Street. Diversity demos were 48% Caucasian, 24% Latino and Hispanic, 13% Black, 10% Asian American and 5% Native American and other.

At a time when everyone is going back to school (K-12 were 51% off yesterday), the family audience is split this weekend, with some going to Spider-Man, and others going to one of two dinosaur movies: Paramount/Spin Master’s PG-rated Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, which looks like it’s overperforming at $20M or Warner Bros/Bad Robot’sThe End of Oak Street which believes it has a path to $20M (though some saw it’s under that). The pre-schooler Dino Movie settled for $7.35M on Friday at 3,545 theaters and an A CinemaScore, while The End of Oak Street, was $8.1M at 3,446 sites after a B CinemaScore (that’s just under the B+ of August Warner PG-13 hit The Meg which debuted to $45.4M).

It’s the second solid A for Paw Patrol after 2023’s The Mighty sequel. The 2021 Paw Patrol movie received an A- (puppies can’t always be perfect). A good 63% definite recommend for Dino Movie in Rentrak/Screen Engine PostTrak exits.

Paw Patrol: Dino Movie is more family friendly than End of Oak Street (hello, it’s about a family and they’re chased by dinosaurs, just like in Jurassic World), pulling in 50% parents, 36% kids under 12 and 14% general audiences. Per PostTrak, Oak Street‘s inhabitants were 10% kids under 12 with 17% family adult. Diversity demos on Dino Movie was 43% Caucasian, 29% Latino and Hispanic, 14% Black, 8% Native American and other, and 6% Asian American.

Paramount and Spin Master’s Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie had previews of $1.9M stateside at 2,800 theaters. The pic bowed in 30 territories last weekend including France, UK and Germany with a running cume that’s now at $35.4M. The domestic outlook is mid-to-high teens. The previous installment, 2023’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie didn’t have Thursday night previews, but posted a first Friday of $6.8M and 3-day of $22.7M.

Paramount and Spin Master have PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, which will pull in toddlers and moms. It’s already banked $25M overseas from 30 territories and should do in the mid- to high-teens this weekend at 3,500 sites. It’s always about the tail with these movies on Paramount+ and in regards to the Melrose lot’s co-share on merchandise money. There was already a Saturday preview that will be rolled into Thursday previews, which start at 2 p.m.. The last film in the franchise, 2023’s PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie owns the best domestic franchise debut with $22.7M, which legged out to $65.3M. Since Paramount has had theatrical on the franchise it has grossed more than $374M worldwide from two movies including 2021’s PAW Patrol: The Movie.

Per Deadline, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie opened in third place at the global box office, with a $23M weekend and a $25M foreign B.O. running cume from 30 territories, a 75% foreign footprint. The pic opens Friday in the U.S./Canada in addition to 22 more territories, with another 12 markets to follow thereafter.

Pic’s top 10 highest openings included: China at No. 7 grossing $5.5M at 10,830 locations, France No. 3 grossing $4.5M including paid previews at 734 locations, UK with $2.2M in No. 3 with paid previews at 620 sites, Germany No. 3 with $2.2M and paid previews and at 593 theaters, Poland saw a No. 2 bow with $1.3M at 295 locations including previews, Spain opened No. 3 grossing $745,000 at 361 locations, Netherlands saw a No. 3 opening but with $615K including previews at 133 locations, Denmark No. 3 with $504K plus previews at 115 sites, Norway No. 3 with $431K at 118 theaters, and Sweden notched third with $396K including previews at 112 locations.

‘Lioness’ Season 3 Premiere Reaches 7.1 Million Viewers

The Paramount+ original delivered a bigger premiere than Season 2 while building momentum with audiences in the U.S. and Europe.

The third season of the hit Paramount+ espionage thriller from Taylor Sheridan drew 7.1 million viewers in its first seven days of streaming, according to Paramount internal data. The strong start puts the Sunday, August 2 premiere significantly ahead of the audience for the Season 2 debut in 2024, marking an impressive return for the series.

According to preliminary Nielsen data, Lioness ranked as the No. 2 most-watched streaming original series in the U.S. during the week of Sunday, August 2 – Saturday, August 8. The series also generated strong conversation across social platforms, ranking as the No. 1 buzziest streaming drama from August 2–4 and driving 6.9 million social media views, according to Social Content Ratings.

And the momentum is global. On SkyShowtime in Europe, the Season 3 premiere outperformed the premieres of both previous seasons and is tracking to become one of the service’s top five returning premieres ever, according to internal SkyShowtime data.

The performance adds another chapter to a strong year for Paramount+. In March, the first season of The Madison reached 8 million views in 10 days, followed by the debut of Dutton Ranch in May, which drew 12.9 million views in seven days.

Paramount’s Dino-Sized Mission to Help Kids Discover Their Own Superpowers

The PAW Patrol is taking on a rescue mission unlike any they have encountered before in PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, playing now exclusively in theaters. In the film, the PAW Patrol land on a mysterious dinosaur island after a storm where they meet Rex, a stranded pup. When Humdinger's reckless mining triggers a volcano, the team must band together to save the island, kicking off their biggest rescue mission yet.

But beyond dinosaurs, adventure, and big-screen action, the film also opens the door to another kind of mission: helping kids recognize their own ability to be brave, persevere, and make a difference. At the heart of the story is a message especially meaningful for families with kids ages 2-9 years old: even when a challenge feels enormous, you can keep going.

Inspired by Marshall’s storyline, Paramount and Nickelodeon extended that message beyond the screen through a social impact campaign designed to give families resources to help kids build confidence and resilience.

A Dino-Sized Adventure with a Lasting Message

The campaign builds on Nickelodeon’s existing Our World initiative, which launched in 2023 as a global initiative to inspire kids and provide them with tools to make a positive change in their communities and beyond. Together with Afterschool Alliance, Ashoka, Association of Children’s Museums, Boys and Girls Clubs of America Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Team Impact, and UNICEF USA, the partner organizations reach more than 20 million kids and families. With PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, that mission comes to life through resources families can use to help a child navigate a challenge, recognize their strengths or take positive action. Custom print materials, digital content, and an online resource hub page, encourage families to access these practical tools designed to turn the movie’s themes into everyday moments of empowerment.

Conversation Starters offer sample questions parents can ask after the movie to spark empowering dialogue with their kids.

A Dino-Sized Mission Kit provides parents with interactive activities that help kids build skills like imagination, resilience, and teamwork while having fun with their friends and family.

A PAW Patrol-themed set of Dino-Mite Tips to Build Confidence and encourage kids to find their roar.

Together, the resources center on a simple idea: the lessons kids saw their favorite pups put into action on screen can become tools for navigating their own world.

The campaign also created opportunities for families to experience those messages together in the real world. Through a partnership with the Association of Children’s Museums, PAW Patrol costume characters visited children’s museums in Dallas, LA, Miami, NYC and Salt Lake City, and offered families movie-themed takeaway materials featuring Our World resources focused on kids empowerment. Children’s museums across the country are invited to further activate using the Dino-Sized Mission Kit to engage kids and families on Worldwide Day of Play powered by Nickelodeon Our World on September 26, 2026.

Families got into the prehistoric spirit with the EGG-cellent dino photo opp at the LA Premiere of the film and Family Day screening. Kids struck a "hero pose" with empowerment props featuring messages including "I can make a difference," "I never give up," and "My voice matters," and received printed resource cards with valuable tips from the Our World campaign. This playful activation, inspired by the movie's dino-sized adventure, gave families another memorable way to engage with the world of PAW Patrol.

Families were also given Our World resource cards and invited to check out the campaign at family day screenings taking place in 29 cities across the country the weekend before release.

The fast-paced 1v1 fighter is available now for $29.99 USD SRP on PlayStation^® 5 and PC via Steam, featuring full cross-play support from day one. The Standard Edition of AVATAR LEGENDS™: The Fighting Game is also available today on Nintendo Switch. The launch coincides with a major San Diego Comic-Con celebration, where the Avatar franchise takes over Hall H for a special panel.

Set within the iconic worlds of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, AVATAR LEGENDS™: The Fighting Game delivers fluid combat, expressive bending abilities and competitive gameplay designed for both fighting game veterans and newcomers. Players master the elements across a diverse roster of fan-favorite characters, combining strategic depth with fast-paced, accessible action. Each fighter features a unique playstyle rooted in traditional martial arts, allowing them to utilize tactical element-specific counters and cinematic finishers. From casual local versus matches to high-stakes cross-play ranked battles, the game brings the dynamic martial arts and elemental combat of the beloved series to life in fast-paced 1v1 battles.

Story Mode in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game takes place in an alternate reality where characters from multiple eras of the Avatar franchise meet and have different roles and relationships.
