Giant shoppers win Proton Exora cars

KUALA LUMPUR: No one is happier than Yee Ling and lamb Hayazi Azizan Mohamad when each took a RM67, 500 Proton Cars Exor 1.6 during the celebration of the anniversary of the last Giant.

They won their car after a thrilling match of the two hours that the actual commercial release of their knowledge and skills with 33 other participants saw puzzle.

The reality competition, the second will be held at Giant, was the grand finale of the celebration of her birthday, held from 6.26-8.06 last year.

Giant allocated a total of RM200, 000 € in prizes, including two cars for the competition, which attracted over 45 867 entries.

Thirty-five works were shortlisted to compete in the reality competition, held at Giant Hypermarket in Kota Daman Sara.

Participants had to go through three rounds of the competition. In the first round was the total value of 10 selected items recommended.

The second round was the most exciting event - the supermarket sweep, where the finalists were given a short set of 10 puzzles to get the right items in the supermarket to find.

The third and final round, which was the hardest part was putting together a puzzle that many regarded as "confusing."

GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd marketing director Ho Mun Hao said the competition was organized with a view to giving the participants an equal chance of winning the prize, the EXOR two protons.

He said he hopes the reality game giant added a new element of fun, excitement and enjoyment to their customers.

"We hope this game really added a new element of fun and entertainment for all of you as the purchaser of the Giants.

"We hope to help foster camaraderie and sportsmanship to all our customers, making this event a memorable experience for everyone," he said.

Besides the two big winners, five first prize winners won a Philips LCD 42''TV each and eight winners of the second prize of a Philips LCD 32''TV each.

Ten third prize winners walked away with a Samsung refrigerator with two doors, while a fully automatic washing machine Samsung has been given to the winners of 10 awards in the quarter.

Booking fees paid though transferrable (with proper documentation) to next of kin, and to other Proton models, are non-refundable.

Delivery time differs based on model, location of the branches and colour choices. Customers are advised to check with our branches for the latest information.

The manufacturer warranty period is 3 years or 100,000km. Extended Warranty Period (EWP) is 2 years or 75,000km. This makes total warranty period of 5-year or 175,000km.
Interest rate is 3.75% up to 9 years with EWP. This is a standard offer to all Proton Exora customers. EWP is NOT an optional feature.
A very reasonable maintenance cost is estimated at RM 1,980.00 for the first 2 years. Service intervals, after the first 3 services, are at 10,000km intervals.

PM Unveils Saga SE And Exora MT

SEGAMAT, July 7 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak on Tuesday unveiled Proton Holdings Berhad's Saga Special Edition (Saga SE) and the Exora 1.6 Manual Transmission (MT) cars.

The event was held at the Felda Settlers Day 2009 at Felda Maokil here today.

Najib also unveiled the Satria Neo Super 2000 Rally Car developed by the United Kingdom-based motorsport preparation company, Mellors Elliot Motorsport (MEM).

"The move to unveil the cars here is in line with the Prime Minister's One Malaysia call for equality amongst all Malaysians," said Proton chairman Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh.

He said it also coincided with Proton's aspiration as a national car maker to be close to the people regardless of race, religion, economic standing and status.

The Saga SE, a premium and sporty variant to the existing Saga, is targeted for youngsters who want to be different and comes in two exclusive colours of brilliant red and solid white.

It is handsomely dressed up with stylish black finishing roof top and front grille, new front and side skirting,rear lip spoilers, rear skirting with black diffuser as well as a new alloy rim design.

The Saga SE boasts of a new interior finishing complete with leather seats and door trims with matching leather-wrapped steering wheel, pearl white meter panel finishing, dark chrome air-cond vents and is fitted with a CD player with MP3 capability.

It is estimated to be sold at RM43,000 for the manual transmission and RM45,000 for the automatic version.

The Exora on the other hand is the much awaited manual transmission version of the country's first homegrown MPV and will be priced at RM64,998 (metalic) and at RM 64,548 (solid) with insurance coverage.

The cars will be available for sale at all Proton Edar and EON showrooms on August 15.

The Satria Neo Super 2000 was launched at the Proton Cars UK headquarters in Bristol, London July last year.

The small and agile car, constructed to conform to the latest International Automobile Federation(FIA) homologation, has raised the performance bar for the rapidly expanding FIA Super 2000 series.

The construction of the car was the result of an agreement signed between Proton and MEM to collaborate in the development and production of a World Super 2000 Rally Car to meet all technical specifications set by the FIA.

Today's event was Proton's second outreach programme after the inaugural "Karnival Proton Bersama Rakyat" in Jeli, Kelantan last month.

Proton included an interative display by its Reasearch and Development division to give exposure to the settlers and also brought along its Human Resource division to provide more information on various job opportunities and career prospects in Proton.

Proton reveals the Exora with a manual transmission

Malaysian car manufacturer Proton-based, has unveiled the manual version of its latest product, the Proton MPV Exor. The Exor, which was launched for the first time with an automatic rack, is now offered with a 5 speed manual tranny. Exor called Proton M / T is available with the M-Line trim level only, ie things like the DVD player and GPS is not part of the package. Instead of leather, M / T did with the fabric, and reduces the external chrome bits.

With the manual, owners can save more fuel, and will be able to enjoy accelerated slightly better performance because it reduces the transmission loss. The power of the automatic version seems banal, but enough.

Next in the schedule Exor is the possible launch of the line B Exor (the most basic models) and the 1.6 Turbo engine Campro for the people mover, something I am looking forward, as could certainly Exor use more power. If you still have the budget and you wish to drive bigger with cheaper price, then you should choose Exora. Malaysia first MPV. The price is affordable plus the model is not bad looking too. Well, the car still new and we wouldn't know any problem will occur or not while it is on the road. Of course Proton will run thorough checking before the launching. But you will never know whether their checking is 100% accurate or not! LOL So it is still advisable to wait for another month before your purchase.

Proton has announced the name of the new MPV Proton - Proton Exor! The Exora is based on the name of the Ixora flower, with the slogan "Keriangan Keluarga". The name and the currency have been taken up by the name of competition Proton MPV winner Norsholihan Bt Abdul Eanich who will drive and even the 7-seat people mover name, she helped after it was launched in April.

The company also revealed that protons Exora MPV will be priced at 80,000 for RM and will be available in 5 colors - Genetic Silver, Tranquility Black, Blue Haze, pyrite Gaia Brown and Blue. In terms of security, all variants will have at least 2 SRS airbags as standard, but it will be as far as possible in terms of total number of airbag. The Exora Proton will be built in the Shah Alam plant. Development cost was just over 450 million RM.

Proton will produce between 3000 and 3500 units of Proton Exora a months initially. After the local launch in April, the MPV will be quickly exported to markets such as Thailand and Indonesia in July. We'll see how the new Exora rates in an open market with our friends in the north against their favorite Toyota MPV.

"This car is coming in August, but I do not want to say too much yet. We are all locked."

Proton Exora is The New Proton MPV’s Name

Salam and hello all. I think most of you already know about this new Proton MPV which will be launched this April 2009. I don’t really know what’s the point Proton told the media about the name of this new MPV earlier than the launch date, for promotion purposes probably? Or just a teaser? Whatever it is, a bit sad to hear that this new Proton MPV which now can be called Proton Exora will only be powered by 1.6 engine. Hello?! Come on Proton, your Proton Waja is already using 1.6 engine and for MPV also want to use the same engine? What do you expect?

By announcing this news yesterday, it means all the rumors that said this new Proton Exora will be using 1.8 engine are totally wrong and the price which expected around RM80k maybe will be less. So, what do you think? For me 1.6 engine is not so suitable for such a MPV that will carry at least 8 peoples inside it. I don’t know how to explain technically but the rough idea in my mind, a MPV at least should use 1.8 engine instead of 1.6 engine.

I don’t want to comment much, but from what others has commented in this entry, I can say that many people will be disappointed after Proton has announced some details of this Proton Exora.

Exora will help bolster Proton: MIDF Research

MIDF Research, which has a target price of RM2.90 for the proton, expects bookings to improve if consumers have the chance to see and test the MPV
Sharing protons Holdings Bhd (5304) May get help from a temporary launch of its latest model, the Exora multipurpose vehicle.

"Although the current test time is Exora May to push the proton in a higher level and spark, recovery is that the long tail", MIDF Research said in a report.

It has a target price of RM2.90 for the proton. The stock rose 6.6 percent to almost RM2.40 yesterday.

The Exora is launched by the Prime Minister today. Bookings to date amounted to 2,500 units which is less than MIDF expected.

However, it is expected that consumers in order to improve the chance to see and test the MPV.

Proton stock is up nearly 40 percent since March 31, compared with a gain of 7 percent broader market over the same period.

"The speculation of the merger in a Perodua and we coupled the launch of Exora, short-term price catalysts appear to be in place," said MIDF.

Speculation of a merger between Proton and Perodua, which is nothing new, has taken a pinch of salt, MIDF added.

This is because it is a disorder. Proton is the major shareholder Khazanah Nasional Bhd with 42.7 per cent, followed by the Employees Provident Fund, against 15.4 per cent and 7.9 per cent with Petronas.

Perodua has five major partners UMW Corp Sdn Bhd holds the largest share at 38 percent.

The merger will result in a new company controlled 60 percent of local markets.

"The merger has its advantages - economies of scale, market dominance, etc, but a broader national car companies can create duplications ie products, a network of dealers, suppliers, etc." said MIDF. As it is, is to find protons, it is difficult to reduce its network of suppliers and distributors.

All Proton cars eligible for Xchange scheme

Proton Holdings Bhd announced today that all models under its marque is now eligible to qualify for the RM5, 000 discount provided under his Xchange program, including his latest proton Exora .

The new ruling is effective immediately, the company said in a statement.

"All car models are eligible under the program. Datapwat, the vehicle must be tested and certified by Puspakom Sdn Bhd to ensure that they are not illegally tampered with," said proton.

Malaysia will soon introduce a new car to begin proton Pender.

Exora Proton MPV is a compact car manufactured by Malaysian automaker Proton, and 15 April 2009. This is a new model of the proton on the basis of a new chassis.
