My brother is a pretty good guitarist. Actually, he is a really amazing guitarist. I'm not just saying that because he's my brother and neither am I one of those family members like some of those people who audition on American Idol and are adamant that their family member has talent. But yeah, my brother can play. Really well. It's a shame though that he just does it for himself and his family and his no. 1 fan, his daughter.. my adorable niece.

Anyways, he's always losing his guitar picks and he usually makes them himself. Then I found the DIY Guitar Pick Punch which I recommended he should get. Recently, I found an even cooler pick, that I so wanna get for him for Father's Day! Check out these alaska picks at music123!

After all, it's his first time celebrating Father's day. Then he can use it anytime to serenade my niece. Cool gift, right? Oh and he doesn't read my blog, so he won't know about it. Don't worry! LOL!

Pilates at Home

Now that Buddy and Allie are both at school, I have the mornings free to myself. Chores nowadays don't take sooooo much of my time since I'm up at dawn. So by 9am, usually I'm done. Baby Z will already be napping away after his breakfast and bath so I'm good to go.

So during this free time that I have, I am back to my efforts in trying to get back in shape. I normally do Zumba and Taebo but my cousin recommended that I do pilates more. So I took her advice and browsed through Youtube to check out some vids.

This video is one of my favourites to do at home, coz boyyyyy does it BURNNNN baby BURNNNNN! :) Plus, my lower body is my most problematic part so I am dead set on working on it most no matter how painful it is. No pain, no gain, right?

Piano Attraction

I love listening to classical music.. classical piano, specifically.

There's just something beautiful about the movement of the black and ivory keys and the harmonious sounds that just comes through it. I've always wanted to play the piano but never had the chance to take piano lessons as a child. So as an adult, I definitely still want to make that part of my dream come true. In fact, I had even purchased a touch sensitive keyboard for my children and I to learn on once we start our lessons. It may not be the best Yamaha P155 digital piano, but at least, it's something we can still use.

I honestly do think that if your kids are creatively inclined, music lessons are an amazing way to hone their creativity. Another way is probably bringing them over to Berjaya Times Square to go crazy at the Grand Musical Staircase.

Lucky Number 23

It's that time of the year again. It's March 13th and exactly 10 days before the hubby's birthday. My men are all born on the 23rd. My hubby's birthday is 23rd March and my eldest son's birthday is on the 23rd of April and my youngest son's birthday is on 23rd November.

My house number as well as my mom's car is also 23. It's just our lucky number I guess. However, I'm not feeling so lucky these days because I've been racking my head on what to give the hubs for his birthday this year. This is our 10th year of being Mr and Mrs so I need to up my game and get him something meaningful (just in case I'm beginning to take him for granted).

Something expensive is pretty much not in the cards this year 'coz just having had a baby, well, that pretty much eats up every spare cent you've got. What with monthly doc visits and diapers and what not. Secondly, I'm saving for a trip with my cousin this year. Hopefully I save enough because I think she'd kill me if I didn't go (as seeing as how she already bought HER flight ticket -- it would be mean for me to let her fly alone). Thirdly, I am just out of good ideas.

Most probably between now and the 23rd, I will be racking my brain (i.e. surfing Pinterest non stop for good and cheap and meaningful ideas). If I find any, I will be sure to update them in my gift ideas category. :)

The moment I reach KL, I think I should hit IKEA or some furniture stores to look for some single beds for my children. I think that's my main goal this year. Fixing up the children's rooms and make them sleep in there every single night. If you didn't know, at least once a week my three kids will end up sleeping in our bed and my husband and I will end up having a severe backache.

I know not bringing the baby cot back home will probably be a big mistake but I seriously can't pack up such a huge cot. For one, I don't have enough space in my room back in KL and another thing, I'm definitely not willing to pay extra for excess baggage on the flight back home. Plus, all the square head set screws that I'll have to keep tabs on. *stressed* I will miss the baby cot, but at least I know that it will be there waiting for us at my mom's house whenever I come for a visit.

Year of Travel?

My husband is working in the travel industry. So most of the business cards that I find in his business card folders are travel business cards. Therefore, I am totally going to make full use of them when I plan a trip someday (hopefully this year in celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary).

Since we get staff discounts on flight tickets, doesn't mean we can just go anywhere we want! It does help save a lot, though, no doubt. However we still need to go to places where we can afford accommodation, a place which is family friendly and also a place where it's easy to get Halal food. I can't just possibly go off to Monaco and sleep on the streets of the French Riviera now can I?

But I think the first place I would love to go is the exotic Morocco!!

Oh my!! If only I can go there this year and visit the souk in Marrakech and enjoy the exotic smells and food, woww.. that will just be amazing!! So let's cross our fingers, shall we?

How To Paint Nails Like A Pro

I have had to give up a lot of dreams due to my shaky hands. Well, not really a lot. I just gave up my dream of becoming a surgeon when I was younger. But really, when I was young, I was the last choice in my family to take a family picture because my shaky hands will always end up blurring up the family photo. So in the end, they'd rather a stranger take their photo than letting me do it. LOL!

Anyways, due to my shaky hands, I've never learnt the art of just a simple thing as putting on nail polish. It will always end up sloppy. Well, as seeing as I'm a Muslim and we aren't allowed to have nail polish on when we pray, I just gave up painting my nails altogether.

But when I get my menses (and not able to pray), for that one week, I do envy girls who have awesome nail designs.

So I found this tutorial vid on Beautylish, a site on everything beauty! I don't know if this will work, because honestly, I think my sister does a better job than this video, but I don't know. Maybe I'll try her style anyway. Check it out and let me know? Is this the right way?

De-Clutter and Organize

You know how before the New Year comes around people start cleaning their house and organizing their stuff so they can usher the New Year without much clutter and have the "energy flowing" (feng shui talk) better around the house?

Yeah, well my mom does that every year end. But she's not exactly done right now. She has tackled the kitchen and her room and she made my sister clean up her room as well (which is a feat, I tell you! She deserves a medal!) So what's left is the living room area and the store. I don't even want to see how she will attempt to clean the store. Probably we'll have to organize a garage sale when we're done with that.

But as for the living room area, what we really need is one of those standsandmounts dvd cabinets because the DVDs are just lying around everywhere. Or maybe if we're lucky this year, maybe mom will consider turning my late dad's old office to a theater room. Man.. I've always wanted one of those! :)

To Swim Or Not To Swim

I'm supposed to bring my daughter today to my sister in law's parents house for a little swimming session but the weather can be so unpredictable. Right now, the weather just looks fine to me. But knowing the weather here in KK City, it can change to heavy downpour in a matter of minutes. It's crazy.

Also, although I know that I "sort of" promised my daughter to go today, I haven't even contacted my sister-in-law and ask her about the condition of their pool. I don't even know if they've serviced their pentair pool pump yet.

The reason I like going to my sister in law's parents house is because they have their own pool. Rather than going to my sister in law's condo, where the whole community will be ~~probably peeing~~ cramped in one pool.

Oh man, my daughter just ran past me and she's getting ready. Gotta go and talk to her before she gets all excited. Maybe we'll go after all. We'll see.

A Workstation To Fit Your Needs

When you have so many things to do and you need everything within your reach, you need to get a workstation that can satisfy your every needs.

If I could customize my own workstation, I'd have a drink station attached to a music station, attached to a computer table, attached to a baby crib, attached to a changing table, attached to a study table, attached to a book shelf. I'm not sure whether I left anything out but that's all I can think of at this moment.

Then, I'll put it in the den where I can watch tv, reach the fridge and be close to the bathroom at the same time. LOL!

However, if I don't have enough Benjamins to put a custom workstation together, I think I'd just have to make do with the tremendous omnirax force 12 at Musicians friend.

A little smaller than what I had in mind, but that'll have to do for the time being. Beggars can't be choosers!

The Five Elements

The weather has not been too kind lately. It's been raining all the time. Year end, I suppose. That's just how it is, here in Malaysia. However, instead of feeling chilly and cool all the time, I feel HOT. I feel HOTTER than a Pussycat Doll tanning in the Gobi Desert. Like SERIOUSLY!

Perhaps I need some Feng Shui Master to help me add more cooling elements. The five elements are earth, fire, wood, metal and water.

I think my earthy elements are getting the best of me. Too much earth and fire and wood )or something like that) around me. I think I need more water elements around me. Maybe I should get one of those tabletop water fountains to balance my energy and aura.

I'm not really into this Feng Shui reading but I was just watching America's Next Top Model and when they were in Macau, the Feng Shui Master made some interesting points that made me feel all... feng shui-ish -- if that even makes sense.

I haven't been sleeping well lately.. just for the past 2 weeks or so. And while everyone is asleep and dreaming about having oodles of money and what not, I amuse myself by watching Equals 3 videos by Youtube comedian, Ray William Johnson.

Shedding Before the Wedding

My sister's wedding is coming up next year. March 2013 to be exact. And here I am, still as huge as a whale or a "rare big fish" -- my sister's words, not mine -- worrying about how I'm gonna fit into a dress without looking like Christina Aguilera stuffed into a size 2 dress.

Oh gosh! It's time to break out the yoga bag that hasn't seen the light of day this year and start heading back to the gym or at least back to running. I used to run 10k like it was nothing. Now, perhaps I can barely run 100m without wheezing!

I know I have to get back in touch with some Zumba, Taebo and hard core crossfit training before then. Can I? Do you guys have faith in me??

It's like the whole world is watching but nobody is doing anything to stop it. Children are dying left and right. Something needs to be done. NOW.

Stone Age PC

Every time I come back to my hometown, I never fail to get frustrated with the state of my mom's stone-age PC. It's been around since forever and that means it acts like it's been around forever too. The total disk space in this PC is only about 80GB and you can hardly do any work or download anything with that kind of space. So my plan is to upgrade this whole computer but I need to get a san storage systems first to backup all the data so I can restore this computer and upgrade it to a better performing PC.

It doesn't matter that the internet speed is the speed of lightning around here but because the PC is so slow, one blog post on this baby takes me about an hour. Ridiculous!! Oh well, just gotta bear with it.

And to think I'll be here until the school holidays are over... in January!! *GASP*

Misfits Is Back!

Okay.. okay..

Misfits has been back a while now. Since end of October to be exact. But I have been super busy with other stuff that I have only watched the first episode of season 4. The rest of the episodes are just waiting for me. I can't believe that I can actually stand it.

Misfits is one of those TV shows that I wait for religiously every single year. Ever since it came out in November 2009, it has been one of my favorite tv series ever!! The cast is AMAZING, the script is hilarious and just overall a brilliant brilliant show.

It's only a short season, actually. Season 1 consisted of only 6 episodes and that was it.. until Nov 2010! Seriously! You have to wait one whole year for the next season! It's torture! Season 2 had 7 episodes and in November 2011, at least there were probably about 10 episodes including 2 15 minute season prologues.

Misfits is a British science fiction comedy-drama television show about a group of young offenders sentenced to work in a community service programme, where they obtain supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm.

Seriously, if you haven't watched it, watch it, already! It's so awesome and I think it's a really great show. After I watch it, other tv shows like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars just seem lamer than ever. Although most of the original cast members from Season 1 has left the show, Season 4 is just as awesome and just as amazing.

The Unproductive Employee

Somewhere in the office where I'm doing my work, someone is not doing his part in being productive for the company. Instead he is checking out YouTube and checking out X-Factor USA (or is it American Idol?) auditions. Seriously, dude? But then again, I'm just jealous because I'm still trying to finish up my work.. on an empty stomach, at that.

This guy is really taking TGIF to a different level. If the boss comes out, I wanna see how fast this guy can exit the browser without being caught. Or maybe he's used to doing it with porn sites. LOL! I know. I'm hungry. I'm cranky. What do you expect? Hahaha I'm just being mean. But if I were really mean, the moment he leaves the office, I will sneak in to his cubicle and fix it with Bugera Amplifiers at musicians friend so the whole office including the boss can easily pinpoint the unproductive employee.. HEEEEE!! :)

Friday Fill-Ins: If, When, Why..

And...here we go!

1. If I don't get some food in my system in the next hour, I will seriously start biting people.

2. When I do get arrested for biting people, then you'll know that I didn't get my work done in an hour's time.. and that I meant what I said.

3. Why didn't I eat before I did my work?? I was rushing to get my daughter ready and my husband was supposed to pick me up from home earlier so we can get breakfast before he sent me to do my work.. but he was late. Grrr.

4. Soon everyone in this office can hear the grumbling in my tummy.. and it won't be pretty.

5. Wow! I am really on a roll with this rambling-about-being-hungry-thing.

6. You said you were gonna pick me up early so we can have breakfast but you didn't and now I have to suffer... as well as the next person that looks yummy to me. (What I'm gonna say to my husband if I get arrested for biting people).

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching The Vampire Diaries Season 4 episode 1 (YAY!!), tomorrow my plans include packing for my trip back to my hometown and Sunday, I want to arrive at my hometown safely and give my newborn niece Naeema, a huge big kiss!! I PROMISE I WON'T BITE!!!

Battery Hang Ups

The scenario may be hilariously funny to you, but honest to gosh, this is the story of my life. I will not change my batteries until it's at it's last breath and when the scenario above does not work for me anymore. Can anyone else relate?? LOL!

However, nowadays, there are rechargeable batteries for your convenience. At least you don't have to run to the shop when you suddenly find out that your torch light batteries are out or you're trying to switch between The Vampire Diaries and X-Factor (which plays at the bloody same time), and your remote control is stuck on one channel.

So if you're too lazy to go out, you can find nimh batteries online and everything in your world will be alright again. ;)

It's 12.34pm and I haven't packed for my flight back to KL which is at 5.30pm. Actually, I haven't even done anything like shower and get ready because I'm busy doing my assignments and my work while I still can. I don't want to get it done before I go back to KL so I don't have to stress about it anymore.

The thing is, I'm using the old family's computer and it is S-L-O-W!!!!

I know I could've done my assignments in half the time if I use my laptop back home but I just want to get it done NOW! I am definitely thinking of sharing the article of how to speed up your computer with System Mechanic with my brother so he can get it done. So that the next time I come back to my hometown, I'm not stuck with a dinosaur of a computer. Hahahah.

Why not just bring my laptop back to my hometown?? Too freakin' heavy a carry on bag when I have to worry about my 2 kids and THEIR carry on bags on the plane.
