My Silly World

Brayden's 1st Eye Apt

2009-05-21T13:03:00.000-07:00

I took Brayden to his first eye doctor appointment today. I was SURE when I made the appointment that he would need glasses. His eyes are super sensitive to light and he squints some when watching TV. To my surprise - no need for glasses right now. Doctor said he was a little far sighted but not enough to do anything about it right now. I guess we are all born farsighted so it may just correct itself. His sensitivity to light is just because he is so fair skinned and his eyes are so blue. So sunglasses will be a regular part of his wardrobe. I am suppose to take him back for another appointment sometime between the ages 5-6. Funny story about when we were there. Instead of using letters on the wall like they do adults...they use pictures instead (airplane, bird, cake, etc). They start off with large pictures then move the same pictures to a smaller size. After doing the first few sizes Brayden says, "I already did that one, airplane AGAIN". LOL. It was so funny!

Here is my cutie watching TV with his sunglasses on just before leaving for his appointment:

Kunka Poo Panda Party

2009-04-18T21:12:00.000-07:00

Today we celebrated Brayden's 4th birthday. We had a small party at pizza king. Brayden decided he wanted a 'Kunka Poo Panda' party (aka Kung Fu Panda). I think it is so cute to hear him say it that way.

Here is the birthday boy on the way to his party:

I had a custom outfit made for his party. I just LOVE the hat:

This is Brayden standing on the table yelling, "PRESENT TIME":

This is a present from the Baumgarts. Juan wrapped it with candy:

Another present from the Baumgarts. I just LOVE the look on his face in this one. He was so excited to get it...every time he had seen this game on the commercial he would say, "me want that":

Singing happy birthday to my baby then cake time:

Another one of his stanging on the table yelling:

Thank you to everyone that came and made this special day even more special!

Can't believe my baby is 4 already :(

What a life!

What a life! LOL!

I miss you Zoie :(

Finally got Zoie's cremains. Here they are in the box with her pictures and collar. We will put her up on the shelf with Kiara.

Happy 4th Birthday Brayden

2009-04-13T18:00:00.000-07:00

Since Brayden had a fever yesterday we weren't sure how he would wake up feeling today so we didn't plan much for his birthday. Instead him and I just hung around the house while daddy worked. Daddy did get off early though and brought him home ballons:

One of the presents we got him were these 'Go Paint' Finger paints. If you haven't seen these yet you have to check it out. It works like the 'wonder colors' and will only make color on its own special paper. So no paint mess all over to clean up. It is a type of powder and when you rub it on the paper it makes color:

We also got him some mini cupcakes to celebrate. Here he is picking out the perfect one:

Now carefully opening it:

YUMMY:

Some of the other presents he got are: Color Splitz Pens, Spongebob book for his Tag pen and the Stuart Little movie. This kid has almost every movie imaginable.

Daddy and him checking out the new pens:

Now he can hardly wait for his 'Kunka Poo Panda' (aka Kung Fu Panda) party. I can't believe my baby is FOUR!

Happy Easter?

2009-04-12T15:04:00.000-07:00

Easter morning Brayden woke up with a fever of 102. He was feeling so yucky he didn't even care that the Easter Bunny had brought him something. Worked out in my favor since the day before I was in bed all day super sick throwing up and didn't have time to get his basket together. Instead I just grabbed a handfull of stuff I had put away for him and gave that to him.

I hoped that the candy pooping bunny would cheer him up:

Kubota wishing he could eat some bunny poop:

Mama Kitty watching over everything:

After some Motrin he was feeling good enough to eat some of his chocolate bunny:

This is what happens when you eat chocolate with a fever:

Melts in your hands, not in your mouth:

After a bit I finally threw his basket together:

He LOVED opening the eggs to see what surprise was in them:

I had to take video of him opening the eggs cause he was being SO cute. He was so excited about all of them - even if it had the same thing in it as the last one:

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Photo Printing

He had to open EVERY egg before he even looked at what was in his basket:

Here are ALL the baskets I did this year (not showing the twins since I hadn't gotten theres together yet). I did a total of 8:

Then we headed off to Nanny & Papa's house!

Here is NiKilie with the basket we got her:

Cutest Easter Bunny ever:

So all in all - even with the sicknesses - I would say we still had a pretty good Easter☺

Coloring Easter Eggs

2009-04-11T16:22:00.000-07:00

I was SO super sick that I wasn't able to color Easter egss with Brayden this year. Instead I was in bed feeling like I was going to die (I probably threw up 10 times in a six hour span). So daddy took on the chore and even took pictures so I wouldn't totally miss out on it!

Look at the excitment on his face:

There is a smile for mommy:

He said he did pink egss just for me:

Thank you daddy for taking care of sickly me, coloring eggs with Brayden and still managing to get pictures to! We ♥ you!

Easter Exchange

2009-04-10T15:56:00.000-07:00

I am on this GREAT online moms group that I really enjoy (just wish I had more time to be involved in it). For the past few holidays we have been doing a gift exchange with the kids. So for Easter I was really looking forward to the exchange. We got a 7 year old girl so we did her a theme gift with lots of Hannah Montana stuff, finger nail polish, nail dryer, etc. We are suppose to have a $10 limit (including shipping) but I never stick to it. I always tend to over buy....but I love it. Even threw in a little something for her mommy. Brayden got his in the mail and it was jammed packed with FUN stuff: chalk, candy, crayons, bubbles, games, etc.

Oh the anticipation (see his box on the bottom of the stack of mail:

Digging in:

A Bug Kit:

This was a neat little thing! It has gummy worms on the top then the bottom part was a powder mix that you just add to water to make a kool-aid type drink:

Of course, the gummy worms were a hit:

All the loot:

Thank to Renee and Caleigh for taking part in this with us!

NiKilie's Basketball Game

2009-04-07T15:40:00.000-07:00

Cousin NiKi had her FIRST basketball game of the season. Thought it would be fun to take Brayden to watch....plus NiKi is so cute I couldn't pass it up. Last year during BittyBall we were calling her 'Paris' (aka Paris Hilton) cause they all just ran around clueless...but she looked adorable doing it. I was wondering what she would be like this year and she was of course still cute as ever - but less Paris like. I think her favorite thing to do was steal the ball then run down the court for a basket. It was SO cute.....and basiclly all they did. I still think they are pretty clueless to the game. He he he.

Got Brayden looking all cute for the game but of course he again wouldn't let me take a picture:

Prepping for the game:

Posing for a picture - she always has time for that:

Getting ready to take it down the court:

Going for the shot:

Looking a little tired and confused:

Cheese:

Crazy girls:

Brayden got impatient so we didn't stay for the whole game. Not really a big deal though cause at this age they don't keep score anyway. I am going to try and be better about going to more of them this season.....but we shall see.

Happy Birthday DiSean

2009-04-05T15:25:00.000-07:00

My nephew DiSean's birthday is on April 4th - but since he had basketball that day we weren't able to celebrate his birthday. So he decided that today we should all meet at Sizzler for his birthday dinner.

Daddy and Brayden ready for dinner in there matching shirts:

Something was funny:

CheeseBall:

The Birthday Boy:

Brayden & his cousin DiSean:

I let the kids use my camera and they took some crazy pictures. I will only post a few but there were about 10 of them.

I am pretty sure he took this picture of himself:

Then NiKi preceeded by taking a picture of herself:

Happy Birthday DiSean!!!

RIP Zoie

2009-03-28T15:16:00.000-07:00

I have to say - this was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life :(

My Final Night with Zoie :(

2009-03-27T14:58:00.000-07:00

My finale night with Zoie just her and I had a slumber party. Daddy, Brayden and Kubota slept out in the living room so I could have some alone time with her. I spent lots of quality time with her. She even got a HUGE can of wet food for dinner:

- -

And we gave each other LOTS of Snuggles & Kisses!

I am going to miss her SO much :(

Brayden and his bruises. I have no idea where this one came from:

Here he is all snuggled on the couch in his towel fresh after his bath:

Sad news - Jade had to be admitted to Doernbeckers Children's hospital again :(

Went Back to Work

2009-03-25T16:16:00.000-07:00

Sears Portrait Studio called and wanted to know if I wanted to work there again. I decided I would help out with the busy Easter season and then maybe one day a week after that IF they have the work and then maybe again come Christmas. Started today and it sure was was weird after being gone for so long...not to mention all the other employees were laid off (except 2) when I was and the manager has quit since I left so it was totally different. One employee during the week, the manager from Salem helping fill in and one weekend employee. Crazy. We shall see how it goes.

Went to see Jade at HOME!

2009-03-21T16:11:00.000-07:00

Since Gee got home from the hospital yesterday we decided to go spend some time with the whole family at their house tonight. We took stuff over to make dinner (BBQ Pork Chops, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli w/ melted cheese & Garlic Bread) and even took some dessert. We had Pumpkin Pie and this super yummy German Chocolate Brownies:

Glad she is finally home and on her way to a full recovery (even though it will take awhile to get her back to normal).

Jade is home!

2009-03-20T19:15:00.000-07:00

♥Gee is finally home!!!

Jade is coming Home!!!

2009-03-20T15:04:00.001-07:00

YIPPEE!

Jade should be able to head home sometime this evening!!!!!!!!!!

Jade is Tube Free!

2009-03-19T15:01:00.000-07:00

Jade is tube free, with the exception of her IV. They took her feeding tube and lung tube out yesterday. Today she is finally perking up a little and finally interested in doing a little playing (like stickers, etc). She has one dose of anti-biotics left tomorrow and then she will hopefully get to go home this weekend. The only thing keeping her at the hospital right now is that she isn't eating or drinking enough and she had to have more IV fluids yesterday. Can't wait until she can come home to finish recovering.

Here she is playing 'I Spy' with mommy:

Thank you everyone for the prayers!

Poor Brayden & Zoie

2009-03-18T14:41:00.000-07:00

Poor Brayden looks like he is abused lately. Now he has a mark next to his eye to add to his collection. A friend hit him in the face with a toy gun.

And poor Zoie. Here she is scratching her butt on the wicker dog bed. LOL!

Miserable household huh?!?

Zoie bit Brayden again :(

2009-03-17T14:07:00.000-07:00

Here are some pictures taken with my cell phone:

Everyone PLEASE pray for strength for me because I will probably have to have her put down within the next two weeks. It is going to be VERY hard for me because I have had her since she was a baby (about 8 years) - but I have to put Brayden first.

Our Trip to see Jade yesterday!

2009-03-16T14:03:00.000-07:00

She is finally out of the ICU and onto a regular floor. She had one lung tube taken out but still has the one in. She had been running a fever off and on so they are watching her closely for infections anywhere. Since having the respirator taken out she has still had to be on oxygen - but that is still an improvment! She is finally starting to look a little more like herself.

Here she is when we first got there. Sleeping like a log:

This is what is being drained from her lung. You can see the stuff on the left is much darker and thicker. This is what was coming out at the begining. As you can see the stuff that is coming out now is looking alot lighter and better. I can't believe this much has come from her one tiny lung.

She still isn't feeling very good but agreed to eat a little bit of a happy meal. She ate better then we expected and were thrilled because if she hadn't eaten they were going to start feedings again that night.

Her and Brayden really wanted to play together so her doctor agreed to a 10 minute wagon ride! She was not very happy about being moved into the wagon cause it hurt her (see her crossed arms):

Daddy got to pull Brayden in his OWN wagon behind her:

Since she is still on oxygen and fluids we had to tag all that along with us:

We decided to take Brayden for a walk around the hospital to get some of his energy out before we loaded into the car for the trip home. Here are him and daddy looking out the window:

Here is Brayden HANGING from the window:

Ok - not really:

I want a drink too daddy:

That's better:

Jade even sat up for a little bit to color with Brayden:

The dads:

We can't wait for you to come home and color with us Jade!

AnotherJade Update

2009-03-13T19:16:00.001-07:00

Went to see Jade yesterday. It was a GREAT day! I even got to take Brayden with me this time. When we got there we set Brayden up on the bed with her and she smiled for the first time since she has been there!

Jade Update

2009-03-11T19:14:00.000-07:00

Went to see Jade yesterday. It was actually a pretty good day. Downs sides were that her fever was up and she also had to have a tub inserted into her other lung. The fluid on that side was less so that was a good thing. They were also able to start tube feeding her. Positives - she opened her eyes a few times, squeezed hands and nodded her head. When I got there I walked up to her, put my hand on her head and said, "Kristin is here" and she opened her eyes to look for me. I asked her if she wanted Buddy (Brayden) to come see her and she wiggled her fingers on my hand. Just before putting the tube in her I told her, "I have to leave for awhile, do you want me to come back?" and she shook her head YES! I think they are all positive signs! I so look forward to when she can be fully alert and off the respirator so that she can talk. Here are a few pictures:
