Eighty percent of adult Americans do not eat enough daily portions of fruit and vegetables. Five servings are recommended to provide satisfactory amounts of imperative vitamins and minerals needed for healthy nourishment, nutrition and wellness. Five daily servings is a lot for some people, especially people who can’t take fresh fruit to their office, or perhaps they can’t buy fresh fruit close to where they live or work.

There are plenty of people who simply don’t love eating fruit and veggies. On top of that many of the fruit and veggies we buy today do not have the same nutritional value compared to years ago. Insufficient amounts of vitamins have the potential to increase the dangers of contracting prolonged illnesses like cardiovascular issues, osteoporosis and cancer. Numerous studies have shown the benefits connected with taking vitamins, which can lower the danger of many illnesses and improve nutrition and wellness.

It’s imperative to eat fruit and vegetables or take vitamins in some other form. Each vitamin plays it’s own role in keeping different parts of the body healthy. Vitamin A plays a gigantic role in healthy vision, it has anti-oxidizing properties, and appears to function in maintaining standard skin health. Healthy body tissues and muscles are the task of vitamin C, and they also increases the body’s protection and has antioxidizing properties. Vitamin D is good for powerful bones and is also imperative for overall fitness. The body’s defense systems are supported by vitamin E as well as it supporting a good heart.

In the most developed countries, 15% of the people has a severe depression, but a lot more have a milder version of it. It might be beneficial for you to take the online depression test. If the quick test is positive for you, don’t worry as there is also a link to a simple natural cure for depression, you can use.

Such free depression test may help you put a label on symptoms you may notice, but what matters most is not the label that some other person puts on you - it is how you feel in a particular situation. There are big differences in how you feel in some situations and it is mostly determined by how you have previously programmed yourself. You can learn more about this by reading this other article: I am so happy.

The bad news is that these bad feelings will spread like a wildfire to many other situations. A depression does not form overnight - it may start by a simple accident or another situation that can be interpreted as dangerous to a person by that persons own mind. It doesn’t have to be a very dangerous situation such as those experienced by soldiers at war that may end up with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). A small cut to a finger during cooking is enough to learn the behavior that knives are dangerous and thus that person will punish herself with bad feelings when she thinks of the word knife for the rest of her life.

The bad feelings will spread to other situations. For instance it could be to situations where the person is thinking of any sharp object, then to any weapon, etc. Eventually the person will feel bad in so many different situations that no matter what she will experience, she will feel bad and be in a constant “danger alert” state (stress). Then this person have formed a depression.

Take the free depression test today and stop the bad feelings from spreading to other areas of your own life; the sooner you will do this, the better quality the rest of your life will be.

Often there are times when everything seems to go wrong despite one’s hardest efforts. During these times, a positive attitude is the key to personal motivation that will help a person regain his stamina and come out of the rough patch easily.

You should never blame yourself for things that naturally seem to go wrong in life. These incidents cannot be avoided. You should always remember that tomorrow brings the hope of a new day.

Most days turn out to be positive for people, but there will always be occasional pitfalls when nothing seems to go right. Just take the failed day in your stride and move on with the knowledge that things will get better. Release the stress that came today and look forward to what tomorrow will bring. Most of the days in an individual’s life bring about positive results. If you can maintain a positive attitude regardless of what might happen, the bad days will be kept to a bare minimum.

Always remember that a positive attitude will help you recover quicker in times of distress. Some bad days will motivate you to have an even more positive attitude so that you can learn from the mistakes of today for a better tomorrow.

The situation may be extremely difficult. But a positive attitude will help you overcome irrespective of how bad the situation is and you will definitely regain your confidence and self respect.

Hard times will always appear in life. But they seem less hard when life is viewed optimistically. No matter how a hard life may seem at some stage, a positive attitude will help you keep your head clear and allow you to think steadily so that you can find the right solution.

Even at work, a positive attitude will help you keep your calm and you will be able to do all the tasks that need to be done to improve the situation. You will be able to end your day on an optimistic note. Even when you are down in the dumps, a positive attitude will help you recover quicker. The illness or the disappointment will pass sooner. You should not break down simply because you don’t feel fit and fine. Real strength and stamina come from learning to be optimistic and believing that time will soon change for the better.

No one is flawless. Making mistakes is a natural part of life. You have to learn from your wrong doings and be prepared for the future. You should not always blame yourself and lose your composure when something goes wrong.

Make this a positive learning opportunity for the future. A positive attitude is easy to maintain when times are smooth. It is only when you can do the same during rougher times that you can achieve happiness and success much faster.

Successful people are identifiable by their masterful positive attitude, which makes it appear as if there’s nothing that they couldn’t achieve if they wanted and nothing they couldn’t possess! It is a positive attitude which separates the successful from the losers: a self realized energy that propels towards success as opposed to a self defeating one that creates problems and provokes suffering in life.

Positive attitude is a state and condition of your mind that allows you to handle stress with optimism and patience, promoting hope and nullifying despair. This empowers you to be undeterred by problems, maintain your focus and continue to persevere without frustration, and thus eventually overcome all problems.

So if you have been a pessimist and have been filled with negative thoughts, here are some motivation techniques to get rid of your problem, embrace your cherished goals and develop a positive attitude.

1.	When you sense any signs of negativity or pessimism creeping into your mind, immediately check your thoughts and stop: Instead try to imagine and visualize your favorite memories, expectations or ideals.

2.	Experts recommend another way to banish negative thoughts from your mind, a mechanism which involves two basic stages: The first which drives away negative thoughts and emotions, and the second which allows negativity to be infiltrated and overcome with positive thoughts and feelings.

3.	Talking to yourself and repeating positive affirmations are proven techniques to develop a positive mindset. Start composing your personal pep talk and motivation statement and ensure that you say it to yourself regularly.

4.	Another helpful way is to make posters or sticky notes carrying positive and affirmative statements such as: I can do it, Success is mine, My goal is within reach, etc, and to put them up around your home or workplace where you are apt see the message regularly, day and night.

5.	Try to make the highly successful people be your friends and acquaintances, and try and spend time with them and know their approach. When are in the right company, it will be easy for you to cultivate a positive attitude.

6. Start to read positive self help books or magazines. Better still you can even read biographies of people you admire. You could also attend relevant seminars and workshops. Remember that only you can cultivate a positive attitude for yourself because it is something internal that nobody can take away. It requires much time, effort and dedication, but is an invaluable asset.

How to Manage your Time Effectively? Time management is not concerned solely with the amount of time spent on certain activities in terms of minutes, hours, days, weeks or months. You could certainly track how you spend time everyday, and that might help you see where you’re wasting it. But if your goal is to get more done in less time, you can begin by examining your assumptions about time and how those assumptions may be preventing you from using your time productively. Let’s look at 10 of the most common–and erroneous-assumptions.

1. There is never enough time to accomplish what is really important. Wrong. There is always enough time to accomplish what is essential.

2. Other people make too many demands on my time. Your time is not controlled by other people. You do. If you allow other people to intimidate you, they will control you.

3. Given my busy schedule, it’s impossible for me to work on the basis of priorities. It is not only possible, it’s essential. To control your life, you must learn to set priorities and stick to them.

Are You a Constant Procrastinator
Live A Fulfilling Life

4. If you want something done right, do it yourself. This assumption stems from asking yourself the wrong question: Can I do this task better than anyone else? Instead, ask yourself: Is this task the best use of my time? Could someone else do this task well enough?

5. I could finish what I need to do, if only I could work more hours every day. This one is not only wrong, it is dangerous. Mental and physical fatigue is produced by working more hours every day. You can’t do everything; learn to set priorities and make some choices. In other words, work smarter, not longer:

6. I’m frequently overworked in my job. Sure, it’s possible, but it’s more likely that you are suffering from an inability to say no, set priorities or delegate. And these sloppy work habits are costing you time.

7. I’m much too busy to plan my activities. The busier you are, the more important it becomes that you take time out to plan. Planning is one of the keys to time management. If you have a master plan, spontaneity becomes a matter of making intelligent choices.

8. I need at least eight hours of sleep a night of function properly. Actually, most adults need six or seven hours of sleep a night. If you’re getting more, it’s likely a habit, not a need.

Life Management Is Easy
What Will Time Management Do For Me?

9. I can’t possibly devote a block of time to important projects every day. You can’t afford not to. Work on major projects by setting aside a 60-to 90-minute period every day.

10. No matter what happens I should stick to my plan for the day. In the real world, the unexpected and unplanned have a way of cropping up. But when the unexpected does occur, ask yourself that key question: Is this more important than what I had planned to do at this time? If it isn’t, don’t do it.

OK. You’ve concluded you have a time-management problem. Now what? Here are several specific steps that will help you begin to manage your time more effectively.

1. Accomplish one major objective each day. Pick one important task and concentrate on getting it done. If you develop this habit, it will prevent you from filling up your day with low-priority activities.

2. On Friday afternoon, plan your schedule for the following week. You have a good idea of what you’ve accomplished or failed to accomplish that week by the middle of Friday afternoon. This tactic allows you to mentally rehearse your schedule over the weekend so that you’ll have a psychological head start Monday morning. When you arrive at the office, you can hit the ground running.

3. Each weekday afternoon, write down your schedule for the next day. Committing your schedule to writing will force you to think carefully about your plan. It will motivate you to accomplish the plan and help you set realistic deadlines.

4. Substantially reduce one time-waster each week. Concentrate on keeping meetings shorter and more productive.

5. Spend your time as if you had to buy it. You’ll certainly waste less of it if you look at your time as a financial investment and monitor how you spend it.

6. Conquer procrastination now! Procrastination is not a harmless little habit. Careers fail, marriages fail and businesses fail because of it. Change your ‘do-it-later’ habit into a ‘do-it-now’ habit.

Goal Setting Experiences To Learn From
Goal Setting Made Easy

7. Maintain a regular physical exercise program. Exercising three or four times a week can help you reduce stress and maintain a sense of balance, discipline, order and control in your life.

8. Schedule some personal time every day. To write it into your daily appointment book is the best way to set aside personal time.

9. Good intentions are not enough. So, stop talking about how you should spend your time differently and do it.

Not so long ago some people used to laugh at the very idea of things like carbohydrate calculators and carbohydrate count chart. Suddenly as the whole world becomes increasingly very conscious regarding health and appearance, these are no longer a laughing matter. You should not be foolish to listen to the guy who laughs with you at work about how stupid dieting and carbohydrate count charts are. He probably has a chart at home on his bedroom wall. If you ignore all these new devices helping to maintain your health, in the end you would end up the loser with high blood sugar and heart disease.

A carbohydrate count chart would prove to be very useful for planning diets, in the case of athletes, people on weight losing regimes and pregnant women who need extra nutrients. Giving instructions on how much carbohydrate different meals contain and the quantity that should be eaten, carbohydrate count charts are very useful and easy to use. With even the required amount being given in measurements like cups as opposed to measurement like ounces some carbohydrate charts have become very easy to use and now you can even plan you own diet deciding on the type and amount of food that would suit you. Nevertheless if you do hope to make critical changes to your diet, it is better to take assistance from your physician.

If used with a device such as a carbohydrate calculator, carbohydrate count charts may prove to be most effective. It would make it much easier to decide on your diet if you use it with a device of the same kind. All carbohydrate count charts however may not be totally accurate and most of those which you find online are extracts taken from books. Remember that most information regarding such subjects still remain controversial so, to try find a carbohydrate count chart made recently using new findings if it is possible.
Expert medical advice states that it is better for your health to eat 5 or 6 small meals rather than eating 2 or 3 large meals. Eating a lot of fresh fruits and vegetable is normally recommended for anyone.

A balanced diet could do wonders in keeping you healthy and in maintaining your figure. carbohydrate counter chart could prove to be of great help to plan such a diet and getting yourself familiar with the information would most likely help you in the long run.

Well, 2010 started a new decade. Ten years of the new century are gone. Along with it went promised changes of the past. So, what do I want to accomplish in the next 10 years? That is where my thoughts are now. In the coming days, I’ll reveal where I am headed.

If you know where you are going, please leave a comment and let me know.

Firm abs and a flat abdomen are not always the same, contrary to what many people believe. You can have firm abs under a beer-belly, because working out the abdominal muscles does not cause weight loss. But let’s take things step by step! The advantages of muscular firmness are beyond any doubt and they start with the capacity of the body to keep a good posture and the ability of the system to cope with physical resistance demands and effort. The very function of the abdominal muscles is that of protecting the delicate internal organs in the cavity.

Many training formulas are now available for the shaping of the six pack, and it has all happened under the pressure of fashion trends. The truth is that soft muscles provide very little support for the spine and the organs. Yet, there is often the risk of not making any distinctions between programs that support weight loss and programs that aim at body-building. Although the concepts overlap at a certain level, many people fail to to tell them apart. Weight loss comes with diet and exercise because these two factors are interrelated when it comes to determining how much energy your body consumes.

Fat loss occurs evenly from the entire body and not from a targeted spot alone. Firm abs can be trained with complex exercises at different workout angles. In terms of calories, they will go away if you train major muscle groups by intense physical activities such as aerobics, rope jumping, swimming, running or cycling. The body responds to stimulation, but it is important to remember that their is a genetic component that will impact the process.

Lean bodies are something certain people are born with, but this is not the case with everybody. The right way to start a fitness program is to show respect for yourself and be honest about your condition. Even when genes are good, things can go bad and firm abs may seem like an impossible dream. People with good metabolism and no predisposition for being overweight, can develop abdominal fat if they are not careful. Unhealthy food, lack of physical activities and an imbalanced lifestyle are the premises for the loss of physical shape. Only great care and commitment to training will allow one to overcome the obstacle of overweight.

Simple. Direct. No mincing of words.

Years ago I was a collegiate level basketball player. Practice 5 days a week and lots of carb loading prior to each game. I was also a hundred pounds lighter. So what has changed? Not much–which is the problem. I didn’t change my eating habits, I didn’t change my grocery shopping routine……..BUT my activity level dropped significantly.

Over the years (marriage, kids, divorce, remarriage) I have had phases of regular activity. But they were short-lived and I didn’t really lose a significant amount. Often times I had tricked myself into believing I couldn’t lose the weight unless I did the activities of my youth. The reality is that walking regularly, eating a healthy diet, and just plain staying active will help me reach my goals.

So, won’t you join me in just starting to move again? Go for a walk.

To your health,

Chris

Yes, it’s true; it is not always bad to say good bye to some things. For example, saying good bye to poor habits or a poor diet. That is what I am having to do. The days of abandon and “devil may care” attitude when it comes to my health are done.

I reached a major milestone in my life–41. Yes, I am rapidly approaching midlife. My goal is to leave off the crisis part. Part of growing older is being more in tune with yourself and your environment. Myself is telling me to get a grip and make the changes I have avoided for too long now.

So that is what I am going to do. Join me in my journey of getting healthy, fit, and balanced in my lifestyle.
