Sewing

The present that hubby got from the kids and I are three sets of jeans. One of them was a little long so I hemmed it at my FIL's new sewing machine. The only difficulty I had hemming jeans is the thick part of it because it is very hard to sew it hehehe.

Please don't disturb, I am busy lol.

I find it amazing how an lcd monitor can make a big difference to the appearance of the views you are looking or viewing. As technology progresses, electronic gadgets are getting better and better these days. I remember when both TV and computer monitor are still in their old style of screen, it is so much different now that they are available in LCD screen.

Chilly Walk

Yesterday was a little warmer so we took the kids for a walk at my father-in-laws place. We walked four blocks which gave our kids so much exercise. Prior to that, my husband and I went for a walk too when the weather was still frigid, here are some photos. You'll find more of the photos at my Husband's blog.

I love the look of this tree, its bare but still holds its beauty. Do you agree?

This is the river that is separating West Virginia and Ohio. My husband and I love taking a walk on this side because the view is gorgeous.

Alphabet Pasta

Sometimes, finding the fun meal for the kids is the key for them to eat. My daughter love foods that are creative in a way such as the pasta below that we bought in the store. The small ones are shaped into alphabet and numbers so when you cook it, not only that your kid is getting a full belly but you also feed their brain.

She always have fun eating this pasta. It is very easy to prepare too, I oftentimes add carrots and celery and its yummy. Chicken broth is a good one to cook it with. Here she is enjoying it.

I was so relieved when we ad our 1099 yesterday after a long long wait. I wish that IZEA would do something to have it sent a little earlier next year. Yeah, I was thankful because we can finally file our taxes.

I was bummed out though because when we put our blogging income, the 5k tax refund dropped down to 2k wahhhhh. Why? Because since 1099 is categorized for those individuals who owns business so you have to pay medicare, social security, and tax.

Missing the Lake

One of the things that we misses being n Korea is our weekend routine of going to the lake and feeding the colorful fish in there. Our kids remember our experiences there so vividly that my son would ask us sometimes if we could go there and feed the fish again. I wonder if they uses pond skimmer over there. But yeah, we have done and created so much memories when we were there so It will be hard to forget about it especially whose only memory is Korea. Here's a shot of them feeding the fish with bread.

Clothing and more...

My husband will be on a spring break next week and I hope that the weather will stay a little warmer like yesterday so the kids would be able to play outside with us. The snow is already melting so hopefully, there would be no more to come.

I was doing my regular visits to other blogs yesterday and a blog post about Spyder clothing caught my attention. My son's clothes are getting small now so I have to buy him some pairs to use for the next season. Hopefully, I could find good deals online so I can get him extra.

One thing about raising kids is the continuous demand for for the things that they need on a regular basis like clothing and shoes. In a place with four seasons like in here, you have to constantly change their clothing four times, so the expenditures is always a challenge. Not to mention that kids grow up so fast and you can never get away from spending for their stuff.

Pork Roast and Salad

My sister in law prepared a dinner when we first visited her home, thanks so much Chris. She made a very tender pork roast with sweet potato, regular [potatoes, and other stuff. She also made vegetable salad and brocolli, so delicious.

I really love her fancy plates, they are colorful and makes you wanna eat more lol, I mean it adds appetite.

Bathroom Reno

Here's the old look of the bathroom in the house. Hubby and I planned to renovate this when we came back from Korea. He was suppose to do it by himself but when he went to the mall and saw the sample of the bath fitter, he got interested and requested a quote. The cost was a little higer in my standard of pricing but hubby got enticed because it will save him time.

Please take note that it is only the bath tub that was replaced by the contractor and it cost 4,549 dollars. The good thing is that they installed it in just one day including the plumbing works and everything. John could have done the project by himself but it will take time. Since he is attending school, that is why he decided to just hire the Bath Fitter.

Now that tub is finally done, the next project would be to finish the whole bathroom which is to replace the existing tiles, old cabinets, and the flooring. Hubby has been browsing for different kinds of Bathroom Cabinets that he could use. Here is the new look of the bath tub.

If I have to rate the services of the contractor , I will say that from a scale of 1-10, the time frame will be 10 but for the price and quality of the stuff they use, I will give them 5.

Minor Injuries

Our son like messing with Champ whenever the latter is taking a nap. He did it the other day and the dog lost it, he bit EJ on the face. I know that it wasn't Champ's fault but I don't want to tolerate it so I put him in the garage for a couple of hours. I felt so bad with EJ coz he got so scared and cried.

I guess all kids are accident prone or is it just my kids hehehe. The other night while Rylie was playing, she bump her right face on the wall. She gets clumsy and careless whenever she's getting tired. She was treating it with ice on these photos.

Hubby love these shots because he said that Rylie looked so Filipina.

This post is a good one for this week's Mommy Moment theme which is First Aid Tip. We have an emergency first aid kit at home aside from the one that we normally use. Having kids means being prone to accident so it is always great when you are ready. I'll post the photo of the kit tomorrow, am so sleepy na kasi. It's already 12:17 midnight here..

Missing the Sound of Summer

Aahhh how I wish that summer is here so all of us can enjoy the warm weather and not being confined inside most of the time. I feel so bad especially to my kids because they do love playing outside and having them stay at home all the time gets boring.

My husband took them outside yesterday because the weather was 41 degrees although it was chilly because of the windy weather. They loved it, my daughter made a mini snowman and my son just love running around the snow. They did not stay very long though because of the very cold wind.

One thing that I am missing on summertimes is the sound of the teens outside home riding their skateboards. Most of the big kids that lives inside the base love riding their skateboard. I can't wait till this freezing weather is over. It would be very nice to sit at the back porch and just enjoy the summer breeze with friends and families. I promised my husband a retirement party but I am waiting till its summer so everyone can enjoy it more.

I took these photos when we got stuck in the traffic in Pittsburgh on our way home from Maryland last month. I busied myself taking photos while hubby was getting mad with the slow traffic lol.

I thought of sharing these two shots as it is to make it more interesting. What I mean is that you can rotate the photo clockwise to make it look normal but I find it unique looking that way.

What do you think? This is suppose to be a skywatch entry but it was gloomy that day and also getting dark so this is a bit boring for a sky watch hehehe.
