Starting a new business makes you your own boss and brings your leadership qualities to the forefront. A new business endeavour not only gives you mental satisfaction but also presents an opportunity to create financial independence for yourself. However, before making any concrete decision, it is crucial to consider certain basic issues.

First and foremost you must be physically and emotionally strong enough to take up the stress of working at a stretch for long hours, since anew business would make great demands on your time. You must be careful that your new business project should not overtly disturb your existing financial structure or induce unnecessary stress in your family life.

Your creative ability, intelligence and organisational skills are completely put to use when you plan to start a new business. It is considered wise to start a new business based on your already existing contacts. They would propel your work in the initial stage and ultimately help you in further getting new contacts. This would surely give you that competitive edge so important for your ultimate success in business.

Type of Business

You should select that work field in which you have some prior experience. You should start a new business, initially within a smaller framework and then steadily work and make it grow into a bigger venture. This will help you to eliminate any pitfalls and errors which generally crop up in the nascent stage of any new business. So without incurring any financial setback you can remove the hurdles and put your new business on the path of success.

Types of business structures

The type of business should be in accordance with your basic temperament and natural tendencies. It should not come as an encumbrance or a burden but some activity which you can really enjoy while doing it. This would create that driving force and positive energy, so necessary to run your business successfully. Everybody wants to start a business and eventually be in charge of one’s own destiny.

Budgeting

Another key factor to be taken into consideration is the amount of finance you can comfortably put into your business venture. It is generally advised not to invest your entire money into a new business and put yourself at total risk. A major problem that arises when you have to start your new business is to assess as to how you can support yourself financially while you set the business wheels in motion.

It may be months before you can actually make money. You should have adequate finance for sustenance. This lean period should be taken merely as a challenge and not as a permanent hindrance. This kind of a positive approach shall reduce the negative stress and shall keep you motivated.

Planning

How to write a business plan

How to sustain a business

Also, you should develop an open and a flexible approach while making a plan for your new business. It is good to take advice from the existing entrepreneurs of your business. This would surely help you to establish your goals and thus effectively charter growth in you new business set up. Creating a new business is one of the most gratifying propositions of one’s life, but to make it a success you need business acumen and total commitment towards your new venture.

IN THE ARTICLE:

Steps to Career Change

Steps to Career Planning

How to Overcome Fear of Career Change

At times we find ourselves in the middle of career quagmire. We do not like the job we are doing but then we cannot muster courage to leave that job and find a new one. When days are good we tell ourselves to keep going with that job and when anything goes wrong we blame our own selves for the wrong job we are into. But the onus of taking the new step of leaving the job which is not fit for us lies on us only.

Taking the Decision

It is us who has to decide what is good and what is not. There is no point being struck in a wrong career because this will do more bad than good to us. Changing career is like battle of mind over heart where we try to put what all we think into logics. Our drive to work and take a decision wavers dramatically. And we begin to doubt our own credibility.

Clear Your Thoughts

Keep one thing in your mind that you are not the sole individual who faces such a predicament in life. A lot of people go through it and come out with making the correct career choice. Though career dilemma is excruciating for the mind it is better to take a plunge for career change before it gets too long. These days it is a common scenario to change jobs as now people have a number of career choices and they switch jobs to finally reach a job which they truly like.

Career guidance is available in a big way these days in colleges, universities, and even in the corporate sector. People who go for career counseling want their jobs and career to be more fulfilling rather than just a means to earn more money. If you like your job it does not become a hassle and burden for you. So it is always better to love what you do rather than being caught in the fear of changing your career later.

Taking Actions

Though innumerable tales have been written and told about people changing careers, the effort which goes into this process is generally overlooked. Actually in reality, it generally necessitates a catalyst like a major loss or organizational transformation to shift us from day dreaming mode and into affirming that we are in dire need to make a career change. Of course, career change does not take place by just making a declaration. Being ready is one thing, and going ahead and acting on it is another.

There are a number of things which come up in our mind when we think about leaving our job. Some of the usual questions which plague our thoughts are: Who will hire me? What will I do if I do not get the right job? Do I possess right combination of skills and experience? What if I dislike my new job as well? We are also worried about what our family and friends will think about us. The remuneration which we will get at our new career choice is also a topic which bothers us. So these are few questions which come in our mind when we think about a career shift.

There comes a time in life of everyone when they want a change from their existing job or at times a total career change. But these things are easier said than done. You have to be really careful before you take a career change or resign from your existing job lest you end up making more enemies than friends. It is not as straightforward as sending an application for resignation. You have to create strong base when you are going to resign from your existing job so that it does not end in bad taste.

The process of resigning is not very tough though: give proper notice about the same, if possible in advance. Be very careful as well as considerate whenever you plan a resignation. Resigning from a job is easy, but resigning in a graceful manner is definitely not. There are certain tips which you should bear in mind for an easy and grudge-free resignation.

Keep all details to yourself

Once you have made up your mind that you want to resign do not leak this information out. Keep all details to yourself so that no confusion crops up at the end. It is vital to notify about your decision to resign first to your immediate superior and then you can inform your colleagues about the same. In case the company comes up with an alluring counter-offer, it will be tough for you in case you have leaked all your plans out beforehand.

Decide on giving a prior notice

In case you wish to resign under most favorable terms, do not leave your boss in a position that he does not know what to do. Give your employer at least 2 weeks’ notice so that he or she gets enough time to look for a substitute. This way your employer will face less problem looking for a replacement.

Ask your superior for an appointment

Always ask your boss for an appointment when you can break the news of your resignation to him. He or she cannot leave all his work to listen to whatever you have to say. So look for a suitable time and then break the news to him.

Be polite, and avoid talking in a roundabout way

Practicing in private will certainly help you to be prepared when your boss invites you to talk to him a lot of managers are very busy with work and will be pleased with your direct approach. No one wants that you should cover up your real motive behind the flowery language. Be direct but still be polite about what all you want.

Be ready to discuss

It is always possible that you have been working in your office since a very long time. But this does not mean that you cannot resign from your job. You might have your own personal reasons for leaving a job. Your boss can have some questions to ask.

Do not get inpatient and answer all questions with maturity. It is also possible that your boss comes up with a lucrative counter offer. So make up your mind beforehand whether you will stay in the office in case you are given a pay hike or dome increased perks or any other incentives. This will be your main negotiating chance, so be ready to make full use of it. If staying is an alternative in your mind, so tread the path little more carefully. Check all the warnings signals, as counter-offers can at times have some very grave downsides.

Lay emphasis on being positive

Be frank, but with politeness. In case your employer asks from you whether he was the reason behind you resigning from the job, it’s ideal to depend on tact as well as diplomacy to make your truthful answer little easy to accept. You can also put your point across in a soft so that the feelings of your employer are not hurt and no bad blood establishes between you two. There is a lot of difference between rude and expressing what you want.

Carry a copy of your letter of resignation when you go to meet your boss

Let your letter of resignation succinct, non- offensive and professional. No one wants to read long and boring letters. Your approach in writing your letter of resignation should not at all be casual. Always be sure of whatever you are writing. Always notify about your resignation at least 2 weeks in advance. This gives sufficient time to your boss to prepare for the same. It is advisable that you do not leave your company in lurch if any important project is going on because in that case it is very tough to get a replacement.

Resignation Letter Samples

Sample #1

Sample #2

Sample #3

Sample #4

Tips

There are very few people who will lose nothing in case they resign from their job. So always think before you speak and be little tactful when you are resigning from your job.

It is possible that the person you leave behind today might end up becoming your boss in sometime in future. So if you have person who is very nice as a boss be sure that you end at a good note saying that you yourself are feeling sad about moving away from a nice person like him. This may make sure that in case you meet that person again in life you will not have to make a sorry figure.

Always measure the pros and cons of the counteroffer made to you. Be sure that the counter offer made to you is given in written and signed by the concerned authority. Never behave in an indecisive manner. At all times be sure of what you want. After informing about the resignation to your immediate supervisor, also inform other managers as well as main employees of the organization that you have submitted your resignation.

It is easy to comprehend the general trends and inclination of the job market. If you analyze the entire job scenario few facts will emerge which can lend positive direction to your efforts.

However, the most lucrative and secure jobs are those which attract minimum number of applicants. This may be due to the fact that few people possess the skill, aptitude and qualification for that particular job.

Anyone who already has a well established career will never opt to take drastic risks but at times you are in a precarious position when you have to make a choice between your package and your state of mental satisfaction. It is very rare that both the features coexist in one’s life.

How to find a job

Some people prefer to take more salary for their long and arduous effort in a restrained work environment. Others may be content with a lower salary but want to work in a stress free scenario. Depending on your personal aptitude and skill you should be careful while choosing a professional job.

1. Gastroenterologist

Working as a Gastroenterologist requires fine diagnostic skills for examining the digestive system especially the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, intestines liver and the pancreas. A Gastroenterologist‘s job does not hold any glamour which is normally associated with the medical profession. Also handling problems connected with the sensitive stomach can be tough and unnerving for the patient and the doctor.

2. Surgeon

Generally considered as the most demanding and nerve- racking profession, surgeons possess minimum margin for even a minute error in their unpredictable and tedious work. They are exposed to extremely traumatic life threatening situations and at times get involved in tough lawsuits filed by hostile family members. They have to deal with resentful hospital staff who are not dedicated enough to work at odd hours. Since their maximum time is spent in the hospital, the family and social life also takes a back seat. A higher pay packet cannot substitute for their long and arduous working hours in the hospital and that too at the expense of their personal time in life.

3. Anesthesiologist

This job ranks as the second best paying job next to a surgeon. This is a specialised field, requiring finesse and immense alertness while performing the task of an anaesthesiologist. An anaesthesiologist has to administer specific dose of anaesthetics which is the drug that creates general or local loss of your sensation. There is no margin of error in this profession since the patient’s life depends on it. The normal anaesthesiologist can actually earn a good amount of money and there is scarcity of jobs in this field. Working with a strong commitment and zeal is important to achieve success in this tough field.

4. Internist

A good and experienced internist is a type of physician who does not perform any surgeries but diagnoses and treats, chronic or serious diseases Internists essentially provide primary care, assistance and treatment to their female and male patients with preventative medicine. One important aspect of their job is to deliver relevant and important information regarding various health issues, drug abuse and mental health. An internist deals with common problems related to skin, ears, eyes, neural disorders and reproductive organs. An internist requires a medical degree in a college with additional few years of specialization. Besides diagnostic expertise excellent communication skills are needed to be successful in this field.

5. Obstetrician/Gynaecologist

This noble profession requires complete dedication and commitment to deliver infants and look after women’s needs. An obstetrician/gynaecologist assists women during the most sensitive experience of a woman’s life that is child birth. A lot of responsibility rests on his shoulders wherein the health of the newborn and the mother is involved. Working as a gynaecologist needs lot of expertise and perseverance to work at odd hours. An obstetrician requires a medical degree in a college with additional few years of specialization. It involves hard work but at the same time gets considerable financial benefits.

6. Stockbroker

The random and erratic nature of the stock market as well as the economy makes a stockbroker’s job as the most wavering and unstable. Accountable for their prospective clients’ finances and their personal salary, stockbrokers have to deal with most indiscriminate and oscillating market situations. This fluctuating working scenario demands immense patience and determination in critical financial situations. One has to be really mentally alert and stable to do justice to this taxing job. However a basic graduation degree may be required to become a stockbroker but real money comes with experience.

7. Divorce Attorney

Divorce can never be a satisfying experience, especially for a divorce attorney, who has to endure traumatic situations and deal with distressing emotional problems of his opposing clients. In most disputes the logic and rationality is completely abandoned by the aggrieved parties, and the lawyer has to deal with non cooperative and emotionally disturbed clients. Resolving the bitter and aggressive fight between two parties is a demanding and extremely challenging job deciding acceptable alimony and suitable custody arrangements can be very precarious and unnerving.

8. Commercial Airline Pilot

In present times commercial pilots receive a lucrative and hefty salary. However their schedules are extremely arbitrary and capricious and have lot of restricted work time patterns. Long routes, random layovers and uncertain weather conditions add immense stress even in a routine flight. The captain’s margin for any error is not there, since even a single mistake can precipitate a terrible catastrophe ending the lives of many people.
The first thought that plagues the mind on taking up a new job is the remuneration. It is the pay check that matters more than the boss and the co workers. It is the salary package that brings home the food and the luxuries. Success today is assessed by the money carried back home. A smart person maneuvers and negotiates a higher compensation than a simple worker for the same work. A few essential tips help in aiding the salary negotiations. These essentials help bring in a heavier pay cherub back home. The negotiation should include the start up salary, the periodic increment, and the raise and commission.

Highlight the achievements: The employer should know what he is paying for. Highlight the achievements and the past experiences showcasing the skills possessed. The employer should realize the need to employ the person.

Display facts and figures: Facts and figures highlighting the achievements should be displayed with the past job titles. They work as a proof to your success. They show on paper the accomplished tasks and the growth of the previous company.

Negotiate the demands: A person willing to negotiate with the employer shows a higher confidence level about the skill possessed and is a tad above the rest of the competition.

Know about the targeted company: Read about the company’s detailed past and present activities and see what the job is about. An interested and aware candidate scores above the rest and makes a difference in the eyes of the employer. Try to stick to a single vocation it makes it easier to grasp knowledge in that field. Online information is available regarding different skills and their value.

Never inquire about the salary at the outset: Let the employer make the first move- the first offer. Let alone the urge to start the salary query before the company owners. Trade the salary when the position is assured .Once the person is sure that he is the chosen candidate and the offer is made by the employer then start the negotiations. Do not meekly agree to all the demands of the employer keep a scope for open discussion according to your terms as well.

Barter a common ground for further discussions: A negotiator should keep the ground for trading open using the common words “If” and “Then” for future use. A hike in the compensation package in case of target achievement and such similar cases should be kept for log rolling.

Mark out a number of options for job: Interview for more than one job. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. The more the number of interviews you have lined the easier it is to say no to lesser compensation packages. If the employer has his heart set on you he won’t let you go. This makes negotiations easier.

There is a scope for a higher demand in salary: Set your aspirations at a higher salary. Carry out net searches for potential packages of a specific vocation .The offer made by the prospective employer is made keeping in mind the negotiation. It is expected that the future employee will ask for more. A confident person negotiating well oozes self confidence and the ability to stand up to tougher situations. Don’t be meek and agreeable.

Higher the pay more the promotion: An employer lays a personal confidence bet on the person employed .The choice is made on the unseen potential that lies hidden waiting to unfurl at the right opportunity. The performance proves that the employer is backing a winner. The higher the salary offered more the confidence in the abilities of the negotiator. This also means a promotion along the corporate ladder .So aim high. Ask for a higher salary one can always come down a little. But if you state a low salary you can’t ask for more.

Show that you are a trouble shooter: Prove to the employer that not employing will mean a great loss in business terms. The employer should feel that the negotiator can turn the company around, create opportunities, and solve existing problems.

Be grateful at having been chosen: The employer should realize that you appreciate the fact that you were chosen from the lot. Visualize that the job is in your hand .The portrayed emotion should be happiness but a slight problem regarding the pay cherub should be expressed openly.

First impression: The first impact of the negotiator’s personality leaves a lasting impression on the mind of on the employer. A well dressed, confident and friendly persona attracts the employer.

Listen to the employer 70% and talk only 30% of the time: Openly accept the viewpoints and presentations of the employer. Hear the offer and ask open ended questions. A discussion and explanation will end up as a mutual interaction.

Intelligent questions show the interest. More questions mean more knowledge. Knowledge gained hands over power to the individual. Better question quality depicts higher intelligence level and crisper negotiations .The questions should be created in a serial order of importance. They should be memorized and written.

Glorify facts: Plain facts on a piece of paper can be unattractive. Display them in a persuasive and interesting manner by creating vivid scenarios with words that holds the attention of the employer.

Focus on the company and not the money: The employer should realize the devotion and interest of the negotiator in the company activities. The employer should not feel that the person is greedy and only interested in the take home package. The interest to join the company should be the main reason focused on.

Do not say yes to offer right away: Take a day or two to weigh the pros and cons of the salary offer do not straight away accept the salary and show desperation. If the salary is below expectations ask for a review.

Information that is not dependable: Sometimes the reputation of the company has hidden facts and figures that stimulate the instincts. Be direct and inquire about the concerns. Only a satisfactory explanation and comfortable ethics ensure loyalty to the company.

Get familiar with the people in the company: Win the trust of the people by associating with them on a personal level. Lots of inside information can be used in the interview.

Do not loose individuality: Every company has policies that inhibit the performance. Hold your fort and maintain your individuality. That is the reason for your selection -don’t lose it .Do not conform to a boundary set by the employer this negatively effects the performance. Highlight why they should have you and your worth to them if you are on roll.

Tap the right guy: Negotiations should be carried out with the person who has to shell out the money- the deciding authority. Try to get to talk directly to the final deal maker. Read all the contracts carefully even if it takes time. Ask questions about the terms and conditions mentioned. Try to stay away from company policies that are binding and restrict professional growth. Credibility, ethics, and morals speak volumes about a person. It takes ages to build a reputation always go for the complete truth in deals. The facts can be easily targeted and mapped out when all the facts are on the table. This brings about approval commitment from the employer’s side.

Leave the salary box in application forms empty or negotiable: This is the starting point for an interaction regarding the salary expectations. Do not commit to any salary. See the offer before committing. Go for negotiations before making the decision.

Don’t underestimate your skills: There are various companies that are offering more. Wait for them. Mostly a company that has refused to raise the stakes comes back in day or two. Be patient and know your worth.

Do not focus on security: Money is a security but the person should take the job as an opportunity and not a means to an end. A person negotiating for an opportunity negotiates better than a person focusing on a monthly salary security.

Negotiate a flexible time table and chalk out the goals: All the expected goals should be clearly considered and a flexible time table fixed if need be. If you can perform better in lesser number of hours you can negotiate for a flexible time table. Sometimes a part time offer gives more space for growth and remuneration. An employer may offer a part time employment than a full time commitment.

Stress tests are a common way to analyze the behavior of the negotiator. Keep a lid on the emotions. Control them and don’t show the nasty side to the employer. Do not mention reasons for the job as a personal family commitment. Companies may offer lesser basic pay but compensate lavishly by the way of perks and benefits.

Go over the extra benefits and eventual raise that can comes your way. The offer should be in black and white on paper. It should cover all the discussed aspects and made according to the expectations. Before changing a job take a view of the perks you enjoy in the present job and make the switch over only if the present job lacks satisfaction. So keep these few things in mind before you do your salary negotiations.

School time reminds us of those fun days during which we not only learnt some of the most important basics of life but we also made some best friends of our lives. There use to be fights, playing sessions, study classes and among all the best thing was playing a prank with teachers and other children of my class. Every day a new prank used to be there.

To your knowledge, a school prank is a practical joke or is a mischievous trick that is played on someone to intentionally make him feel embarrass or undignified. Well, there exist several kinds of school pranks and these ranges from everyday play and consensual behaviour. School pranks sometimes along with hazing and bullying include assaults like emotional and sexual ones also, which though should be strictly banned in educational and other institutions.

Note: Don’t use these pranks to humiliate your classmate but play these pranks to have some gentle humor and bond with others.

Some of the common school pranks

Debagging: Debagging is known by various other names also like repantsing, pantsing, kegging, dacking and Jocking. It basically refers to the act of pulling somebody’s pants, underwear, shorts or skirt’s waistband. By revealing the person’s genitalia, this prank is played to him, making him feel embarrass. Well, Debagging is considered as sexual harassment in some countries and therefore it results into immediate suspension or eviction.

Circle game: The circle game is also known as hole-tempting or ball-gazing game. While playing this prank to someone, he is made to look at the hand of the prankster, which is placed below his waistline forming a circle. As soon as the victim looks at his hand, the prankster gets to hit him.

Flat tire or flat foot: The victim is forced to trodden up his heal which makes him stumble. Then he is told to step upon the back portion of the shoe while his foot is in a lifting position and then remove it. This position is said to be “heels” variant or a “flat tire”.

Indian or Chinese burn: While playing this prank, the forearm of the victim are held firmly in both the hands of the prankster and are then twisted in opposite directions to stretch the victim’s skin, making it red and sore. It is in United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, where this prank is known as “Indian burn” or “Chinese burn”. In India, it is known by the name of “buffalo skin; in Canada by the name of “snake bite” or “Indian rub”. In States, people call this prank an “Indian sunburn” or “Indian rug burn” and in France it is called “Indian burn”. Similarly, there are many more names for this prank. Different countries of this world, knows it by different names.

Kancho: Kancho is mainly played in Japan and it refers to goosing or wedgie. While playing this prank, the hands are grasped together in such a way that the index fingers are pointed out in an attempt to hit and insert into the anal region of the victim. When the victim is not looking, Kancho is played to him sharply and instantly; causing him pain.

A cushy office job spells a hot cup of coffee, sales, accounts conferences, technology and a chair to relax and sit on. It is an everyday affair for most people to pick the bags and go to the office.
Life is a precious commodity and needs to be valued. At times it is not under our control and we are forced to take up hazardous jobs. The lives of the families are dependent on the bread earner. The worker may not be sufficiently trained or educated enough to take up any other alternate vocation. At times like this it is necessary to take up vocations that bring in money and ad to the pay packets. But a few considerations must be understood and followed:

Equipment needs to be checked periodically for any flaws.

The equipment used has a manual that is attached showing all the ways to work it. Consult the manual before putting it to use.

Always wind up and shut down the equipment after it has been put off in order to avoid unnecessary accidents.

Cover the faces with masks or helmets to restrict the inhaling of spurious substances.

Use protective gear while at work.

Most importantly have a first aid box nearby.

A full time business is a challenging project that requires tremendous commitment in energy and time. Business men regret spending a very small amount of quality time with their family members because of a jam packed rigorous schedule at work. An aggressive business man ignores a number of urgencies in life to go to an urgent department meeting and still is unable to perform to the best of the ability. A larger number of hours in a day are needed to balance the business and family needs. The day starts with a flurry of activity and ends with unaccomplished tasks. A person ends up undertaking many different jobs during the day without the desired output. Time bandits steal time and a track of the daily activities is lost.

A systematic, efficient utilization of time helps in cutting back the wasted hours put in. Effective time management is gaining the extra minutes ignored everyday due to haphazard planning. Valuable time can be organized with time management. The focused activities can be completed within the stipulated time with well thought-out efforts.

There is no magic formula that can add to the hours in a day. Life poses hundreds of challenges that need attention daily. By utilizing, time management tools and tips, the task of harmonizing home and work can be made easier. Time is a valuable asset and once lost can never be retained. Time management is all about goals and their achievement.

Goals need to be set in time management. The goals should be formally recorded and an action plan formatted. Follow up the goals and check if the time set has been adhered to. In order to maximize time management the following principals can be broadly stated and should be kept in mind:

Appoint low-skill workers

Unskilled work does not need the attention of the business head. Every day jobs like filing, cleaning, and running errands can be performed by less skilful people. Cash can be paid to these helpers and they can assist in saving the most valuable resource- time. Time devoted by the business head, can be then focused in other income creating propositions like marketing, sales, management and networking. Lower skill jobs also have trained personnel who perform these tasks to perfection so they should be brought on board.

Chalk out a daily schedule

Plan and write the next day’s schedule on paper. The effort should be in trying to complete these tasks in succession the next morning. Make a to-do list and write all that has to be done the next day. Do not leave anything undone according to the list prepared. The list should have the priorities clearly stated.

In a business house there are problems that can crop up just anytime. Priority list consists of the tasks that have to be accomplished first. Make deadlines for them and be focused to have them done in the stipulated time available. This way the most important tasks will not be neglected and completed on time. Keep marking the jobs that have been attended to. The remaining other incomplete works can be highlighted and attacked with a frenzy.

Select the productive high periods

People work according to their own capacity. At times one is charged for work, and at other times no amount of effort put in, renders results .So attack the work only when there is a desire to bring about a change. Devote the attention to more routine activities in such a case. Work only when in the frame of mind to take up a project. Some people are at their best at the crack of dawn and others the best late in the evening. Skip the routine activities at times of serious project planning. Wait for the drive to dish out a more challenging performance. Trying to focus and tackle tricky deals in a less productive phase is a waste of time and energy.

Use the timer to measure the time utilized in carrying out the daily activities. Mark time taken for each activity performed everyday .Record and measure the time taken for these daily routine activities. To manage time you need to measure it first. This activity in the long run will highlight how much of time is lost in unproductive meetings and useless doings. Many activities that are undertaken daily out of habit can be delegated to other people.

Minimize actions wasting productive time

Activities like personally taking calls, response to email queries, meeting sales persons and untimed meetings draw the attention of the business heads unnecessarily .Leaving an important discussion, for reading and responding to emails reduces output. A time should be fixed for answering mails and sending responses to business queries. Staff can be delegated the task of taking a phone call, interacting with sales persons, and other marketing personnel. Social media accounts should be left alone when undertaking urgent business deals.

Some business functions of a similar capacity need not be undertaken daily by the business head. An organized compilation of certain business functions can be dealt with on a weekly basis, or after business hours for a short while. Self behavior needs to be molded for effective time control. One needs to get rid of personal time wasters like personal phone calls on direct phone while working.

Time the meetings

Meetings should be prepared beforehand and carried out according to a time line. Prevent social get together in the conference rooms. Deal with each item in the agenda for a concise time. Mark the time to be given to each topic and save minutes.

Entrust tasks to suitable staff members

Delegate work tasks to others to lighten the load on self. Focus the talents where they are needed more. Staff should be handed out responsibility to look after insignificant cash, accounting, cleaning, product marketing, product development, quality control, correspondence and sale activities.

Valuable time can be then focused towards the development of the business rather than the small time jobs. A formal list should be prepared for delegating the people to the targeted task and the staff informed of their duties. An employee who wants to learn more will gladly opt for this responsibility. The time saved in this way can be used in strategic planning for other activities.

Focus at technology

For efficient activity the staff needs the right tools and trained persons to do the job. Computerized Technology can make things easier and much faster. One should get rid of the outdated modes of maintaining data by putting the registers and papers aside. Productivity is greatly enhanced venturing into technology. Keeping in mind the cash involved one can go hi-tech. Tools on advanced know how can prove to be benefiting the business growth .Investing money in software’s helps save time and effort .Technology helps in increasing the staff productivity manifold and also helps in cost cutting .

Being orderly is the keyword

An orderly approach in work place is the keyword to saving time and money. Time should not be wasted looking out for important papers, documents or accounts. Efficient business techniques applied through computers, or an organized filing system saves a lot of time. Customized thank you replies, inquiry replies, basic sales question answers, and template responses need to be prepared for general matters. One can create a website with frequently asked questions to impart detailed knowledge of the product to people.

Health is wealth

Do not sacrifice sleep, rest, diet or exercise for the sake of business development. A tired and bored mind cannot conjure up innovative ideas. It is a mutually profitable relationship – a good body and a good mind A brain can’t perform if it is deprived of blood and nutrients. Working longer hours but not at the maximum potential is a failed effort at good performance. A healthy body with a healthy mind can help business leap and bounds.

Don’t forget to have fun

One needs to escape from the rigmarole of tedious tasks. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. Do not sacrifice small pleasures in life thinking business is the only life. One needs to have an escape from the constant stress due to business and work. Watch TV, jog, exercise, walk etc perform any activity everyday to ease off the mental pressure. Set a time limit for the leisure period by being honest about it . A break from the schedule is a great stress buster and a must to stay mentally fit.

Time management is to be able to control time effectively. Conscious control is exercised over time spent in business activities, for furthering business development. For a person to be really happy time has to be devoted to leisure activities and family as well. Time management can be enhanced with the help of authority delegation, setting goals, technology, time analysis, and prioritization of activities. Effective time management helps in completing the project on time and to perfection.
