Polar Bears Equipment Fitting

Here we go again! I went to the rink today to order my gear for the upcoming Polar Bears Season. Awesome new Reebok warm ups. The shell that I put over my hockey pants will have the Polar Bears logo and my number on it, that is so cool!

I can’t wait to get my equipment and start the new season! I have already started breaking in my new X30 Bauer skates and Bauer Vapor X15 hockey stick. Go Polar Bears!

Grand Canyon State Games Champions!

It was a great way to end the 2009-10 Squirt A season, by winning the State Championship Title!!

Murph & Coach Ed Kastelic

At the end of March, the Phoenix Polar Bears played the Jr. Coyotes in the Championship game of the Grand Canyon State Games and won 6-2. It was another amazing victory!

My Squirt A team finished the season undefeated in league games with a record of 19-0.

I had a great season with awesome teammates and an awesome Coach! Coach Ed Kastelic taught me a lot this year, and it was an honor to play for him.

It was a perfect season and I will never forget it!

Jr. A Polar Bears WIN Thorne Cup

While playing for the Phoenix Polar Bears this year, I got to know some of the Jr. A players.

I was at the game in March when they won the WSHL Thorne Cup against the Boulder Bison. We went on the ice to have our pictures taken with the team and the Cup.

My favorite player on the Polar Bears Jr. A team is the goalie Casey O’Connor. After the game, he said I was his #1 fan and he gave me one of his goalie sticks! I am also lucky to have bid on his Breast Cancer jersey and won it.

Casey and the Phoenix Polar Bear Jr. A players are great roll models and hockey players!

Working out with Phoenix Coyotes Mike Bahn

In February, I attend a Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Development Clinic at Jobing.com Arena. We took a tour of the Coyotes Add New locker room and their incredible fitness facility.

The Coyotes locker room is so awesome. Across the hall; I saw where they get their skates sharpened, and Doan’s jerseys were hanging in a dry cleaning bag. The players sticks are lined up on a long wall and Upshall’s stick had a smiley face on it.

The Phoenix Coyotes Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Mike Bahn showed us some of the exercises he does with the Coyotes players. It was pretty cool that I got to be his partner. He gave us a good workout before going to the locker room to dress for the ice.

Included in the clinic was tickets to the Coyotes game the next night. This is a great hockey clinic.

This weekend the President’s Day Invitational Hockey Tournament begins. The Polar Bear Squirt A Team will be playing all of our games at Polar Ice in Chandler. We have some great teams coming in from California, Georgia and Vancouver, BC in the Squirt A Division.

Be sure to check out the Master Schedule of games going on at rinks around AZ. Please come out and join in the fun and support youth hockey in Arizona!

Phoenix Polar Bears Squirt A Game Schedule:

Friday @ 5:20pm vs Bay Harbor Red Wings
Saturday @ 11:10am vs Atlanta Fire
Sunday @ 6am vs Valencia Express

Semi-final games will be Sunday at 3:30 & 3:50pm
Consolation game will be Monday at 8am

Championship will be Monday at 9:30!
