We finally turned one!  MTACServices turned one last April 12,2012.  The owners felt that it would be best to celebrate the company’s  first with the Managing Director Roxy Ortiz’s  Birthday.

The theme was a Luau Party. Everyone was asked to come in their best Hawaiian Attire. The celebration was held at the Bambu Garden Party Venue at  Scout  Chuatoco St. Quezon City. We were blessed with sponsors Petron, Optimum Tread, Kota Keluarga,  Sugar Rush Cakes and Pastry and Bellebeau.  Food was prepared by Chef Ronnie Ramirez and his lovely wife Trixie Aquino Ramirez. The entree were Spaghetti Bolognese,  Fish Fillet in Tartar Sauce , Baby Back  Ribs with Hickory Sauce, Steamed Rice. For dessert we had Lemon Squares, Oatmeal  Cup cakes,  Fondant  Cupcakes and squares by Sugar Rush.  Ooops I almost forgot free flowing Tea.

At first both Roxy and I were nervous that nobody might attend our celebration. It was  raining really hard. Chef Ronnie said we shouldn’t  be worried for the heavy rain pour, it will stop in 30 minutes. True enough it did. The Celebration started  at 6pm despite heavy rains and heavy traffic . Among those who  attended were Billy S. Gualberto owner and president of  Kota Keluarga and the other members of the Gualberto Family, Alex Ortiz, Roxy’s brother, JB Trinidad Marketing Manager of FTI, Alma Trinidad, owner of Sugar Rush Cakes and Pastry.

There were games and prizes. Songs were rendered by Jeannette Gutierrez, former trainer of WNS,  Joy Garcia. Dr Medina and  a lot more. The party came alive when Ms. Sylvia Zaldivia’s Pearly Shells dance number.

The Party was coordinated by Occurrence by Maro’s .

It had been a busy and fruitful Summer for Maros Training And Consultancy Services.  I posted an ad at Sulit.com  for  a Summer Workshop for Kids, Teens and Adults and we were lucky to get  a number of Parents to let their children and teenagers to join our workshop/training.

The availability of the trainees had been our dilemma and their parents wanted  one on one sessions  and so that was how we conducted our training.  For all the trainees to meet and  interact with each other, we came up with a panel evaluation

that gave them the chance to gain new friends and fans. The evaluation served as the gauge on how much they have improved and learned.

Our first Trainee was Carl Matthew  Alcantara , 15 years old, an incoming 3rd year student from the Claret School of Quezon City. He is a Varsity Basketball Player.

The Gatpayats , “Justice“-Armand  Federick ” 16 yrs old,an incoming 3rd year at  de La Salle Greenhills and his sister “Yankee“,Florianne  Louise  14, an incoming  sophomore at   Miriam College  High School  registered next.”

Johann Paulo Capinpin, 13 years old, an incoming freshman   and Jose Immanuuel  Hinolan 12,years old, an incoming  seventh grader  both from The Ateneo De Manila University registered after the Gatpayats.

And the Last was Kirsten Ricce Feolog, 8 years old and incoming   fourth grader at the Manila Adventist School.

The Evaluation was held at the 2nd Level of  Green Halo, Cubao Expo.

The members of the Panel were Melody Caylo, an OFW, Dr. Genalene Teppang, OB-Gyne and Marinel Mejia.

The Trainees drew lots to determine who would go first etc. and they faced the panel according to this order  Yankee, Sim, Shey,Paulo and Justice.

Each one of them were asked to introduce themselves by following guide questions, they were asked to interpret photos, read tongue twisters and asked difficult questions by a panel member.

We are proud of our trainees because they handled themselves well despite their nervousness.

Good Job  Yankee, Sim, Shey, Justice and Paulo!!!! You made us so proud!!

Speed Reading Workshop   For Kids (8-12 years old)  and Teens (13-19 years Old)

 A 10 session workshop that will  administered by 2 Trainers to enhance your child/children’s reading speed,vocabulary and comprehension skills. This workshop will help hasten their study time and improve their memory/memorization skills.

Our Senior Trainer has been mentored by Dr. Ma Teresa F. Calderon, World’s Fastest Reader

Objective: By the end of the session the individual learns :

1.How to Skim and Scan Reading Materials
2. Proper context reading
3. Proper  sequencing of events
4. Summarization
5.To read faster with 100% comprehension

The International English Language Testing System popularly also known as IELTS is an English language test usually required for Visa processing and admission

She started her sessions with us Dec. 15, 2011. So, basically speaking, she only has less than a month to prepare for the exam and not to mention the time she allotted for her review. It was very short.  We were all pushed to the limit during her sessions.  We wanted her to be prepared as much as she wanted to be prepared. Stress was present every session. We have our reviews after her work. We meet at 7pm and we end at 10pm and she still has to travel to get home to Montalban.  Yup! stressful! Exhausting!

Kristine met with us apparently for only less than 3 weeks. We didn’t have our reviews during the holidays (a few days till Christmas up till after new year).   We only met with her for less than 6 sessions but I wanted more!  I wasn’t satisfied with what she had learned! For me, it wasn’t enough!  I asked for her to have a full day session with us. YES! a whole 8 hr session! She agreed to what I wanted because she knew she would benefit from it. It was a giveaway!

We met during her day-off. After  hours of reviewing, repeatedly going over what has to be learned and absorbed, we all looked exhausted! Kristine looked like a tomato that was thrown up in the air and dropped.  Yes, she looked mashed up! Of course, we had breaks. During her breaks, we ate,  had a few laughs, talked about anything away from her review and slouched. I didn’t see her during the week of her exam to give her space to rest her mind, body and of course, time for herself however way she  would want to use it.

Her exam was dated on the 14th of January, 2012.

When the day of her exam came, I woke up early. Wanted to message her “good luck” but it just might make her more nervous.  So i just waited for her to finish all the exams.  There are 4 parts of the IELTS exam.  LISTENING, READING, WRITING & SPEAKING. She said she was able to finish her last exam which was speaking even before the time she was to have the exam. I called  her about 5pm and asked how she did.  She said she did fairly well.  We were talking while she was doing her chilling time in an internet cafe at Mega Mall.

The next step was the hardest part.  The wait…………… Waiting for the results to come out. You see, the end result will depict both  the effectiveness of her absorbing what we were reviewing with her and our way of reviewing her.  I wanted to know, too, how effective Marinel and I were to her.  All her reviews were customized, to her needs so she can deal with the exam easily.  I took the IELTS exam myself so I do have a bird’s-eye view on how it goes.  I was able to give her tips apart from what we were reviewing with her.  She was able to utilize them. Phew!  The results usually come out 10 working days after the date of the exam taken. I was waiting for a text message from her. I did expect her to get her results within this week.

I got a text message from her yesterday morning. She was able to make the total bandwidth score that UK requires for those who want to pursue their studies in their country. My heart jumped! I felt relieved at the same time trying to keep a tear from falling.  I was proud of her!  Up till now, as I am typing the story of my very first trainee for IELTS, I am stopping a tear from falling.

Kristine taught me a lot, too. She’s only 22 years old and she gave me more reason to pursue something that I have always wanted to do……..to share what I have learned and to give back what was shared to me all these years.  To have reason to do something is not enough for you to succeed with what you want to achieve, no matter how big or small the intentions are, you must put your whole heart and and admiration to what you want so you can gladly share it to others!

To Kristine Clemente, CONGRATULATIONS for passing the required bandwidth score of the United Kingdom and thank you for being MTACS’s very first IELTS reviewee.  You made MTACS very proud of you! Live up to your dreams and make them happen! You’re definitely on your way to succeeding!

As Part of the Agreement signed with The Young Entrepreneurs, Maros Training And Consultancy Services  together with Rafael Leonardo V. Masilang launched and  conducted a four  hour Workshop entitled The Access to Communicating with an Impact   at MOST CULINARY INSTITUTE at Angeles City, Pampanga.

The Workshop covered topics and tips on how one’s Communication  Skills leave a positive impact on an Interviewer, listener and people they converse with every day.

The attendees/ delegates of the Workshop were Culinary Arts Students John Erik Javier,  Diane Marie Sese, Melisa Balasbas,Patrick Kevin Manalese, Martin Lugue, Romila Ann E. Roque, Irene Stratton,Michelle Alfonso, Jennifer Jacobson,  Laarni Paskual, Mark Jeopardy and Rodrigo Aguirre.

After the workshop, the Campus  Administrator  of MOST INSTITUTE , Siony M. Aguila together with one of the Owners Jun Masilang asked  MTACS’ Managing Director  Roxy Ortiz and Marinel Bernadette Gualberto Mejia , CEO of  MTACServices  to design a Workshop Outline for MOST that will be integrated with the courses they will  be offering in 2012.

MTACServices  will be the official outsourced trainer for the Clients of the Young Entrepreneurs for a period of Three (3) Months.

It has been agreed upon that  with in this period, there will be a total of Three  (3) Workshops that  MTACServices ‘  Chief  Operating  Officer, Marinel Bernadette Mejia will be designing a Workshop Outline  for.

The   list of Clients that MTACServices will be handling  are  Most Institute, Angeles Pamapanga Campus, Rafael Leonardo V. Masilang’s  Client , Josef  Bonifacio Benjamin B. Ayson’s M’s  Cafe  and another company by Rafael Eligio Z. Sunga’s recommendation.

Like  the first Workshop it was raining hard. Despite the bad weather  the Workshop   conducted  by the CEO of MTACS,  Bernadette Gualberto Mejia, people who were interested to learn attended and made themselves count.

One of them graduated from MTACS’ One on One Speech Development Training- Frieda Jean Del Castillo,  the panel  who heard her recordings  from the time she was first evaluated said she improved A LOT!!! Good Job  Dha! Congratulations! Well done!

Felbert Go,  Movie Director and Film Maker  together with Leonardo Masilang, Co-owner of  Kangaroo Jack  franchise, one of the Major Sponsors of  Maros Training And Consultancy Services first Workshop “Access the Axis of the English Accent”  brought his son Rafael Leonardo V. Masilang  of the Young Entrepreneurs of the Ateneo De Manila University along to attend the Workshop.

The highlights of the Workshop were the activity that the Managing Director of  Maros Training And Consultancy Services,Roxy Ortiz gave the delegates “How to sell a whitening soap to a very dark person”, and of course the most difficult tongue twister “The sixth sick Sheik’s sixth sheep is sick”
