The Storage Solutions Engineer role includes both customer billable and pre-sales technical support activities. The Storage Solutions Engineer must have the strong ability to work consultatively with our clients to develop comprehensive Storage solutions based on detailed analysis of their business and technical requirements. This includes gathering key requisite business and technical information, developing Storage architecture, and designing, implementing and configuring Storage products. The Storage Solutions Engineer must have excellent oral and written communications skills and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 + years of NetApp storage experience, including FAS2000 series, FAS3100 series, V Series, N Series, Data ONTAP, and SnapManager products and a good understanding of Storage Area Network products such as Cisco and Brocade. In addition, the Storage Solutions Engineer will be expected to continue to grow and develop skills in these areas. NetApp certifications are preferred but not required. Ability to travel up to 50%. We are currently adding a Network Engineers with Lan/Wan expertise to our Managed Services team. You will have primary responsibility for integrating and delivering a wide range of technology solutions to the client. In addition, this position provides pre-sales support, customer support and direct quality assurance for all projects assigned. As a Managed Services Network Engineer , your toolset should include: · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems preferred and/or equivalent experience. · Minimum of 3+ years of technical pre-sales support experience preferred. · Minimum of 3+ years of hands on experience with Networking product preferred. · Previous consulting experience preferred. · Knowledge of project estimation and scoping experience preferred. · Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification required or must be acquired within 3 mos. of hire date. · Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) certifications required or must be acquired within 4 mos. of hire date. · Basic understanding of various types of Telecom equipment such as CSU/DSUs, Frads, multiplexers, channel banks, etc. · Basic knowledge of various WAN technologies to include analog and digital circuits, X.25, frame relay, ATM, T-1, DS3, etc. · Certified AIX User certification or other UNIX certification. · Ability to perform base network installation and configuration services. · Knowledge of vendor supplied brands. · Excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication. · Ability to travel 25-30% of time Storage Solutions Engineer · Knowledge of vendor-supplied brands · Understanding of vendor disk, tape, and SAN products · Understanding of vendor software products · Basic product installation skills · Basic product assessment skills (existing implementation) · Basic pre-sales skills · Product configuration · Product discussions, including whiteboarding · Other customer-facing activities · Basic vendor certifications (IBM, NetApp, HP, Symantec, HP, etc.) As with all engineering positions at MSI: · Requires the ability to perform base installation services. · Requires the ability to support customers via phone or site visits. · Requires some working knowledge of AIX, SP2, HP UNIX or Sun Solaris or other UNIX brands. · Must be willing to work off-hours to accommodate customer and/or MSI needs. · Ability to travel 50% of time.
