So the competition is over now, and a wonderful eclectic mix of videos have been produced from people all over the country. We’ve kept the campaign active on uVizz until we can get them all uploaded to YouTube so no new votes count after midnight on 16th August. We’re double checking all our stats and will publish the top 10 videos here in the next couple of days and of course, details of the competition winners. We’re judging tomorrow. Deep breaths! Back soon.

Until the 16th August we are asking Video Creators to the Mornflake Video Competition to get as many views as possible to help them get into the top ten that will go through the panel of judges. There are so many ways to do this and we wanted to give everyone a little help:

Superb video written, performed and directed by The LawFirm Group's, Creative Director, Brian Watson, to make a sample video for MornFlake's Video Competition. Based on the long running BBC comedy series, Porridge, Brian takes off its lead character, Fletcher, this film was (appropriately) shot at the Court House Hotel in London. Many thanks to the management team for allowing us to film on location. Finally, Uvizz has just added a great feature for embedding its videos around the web, so here it again in Uvizz mode.

Today the first competition video was uploaded to Facebook via uVizz. This one's about a house sale negotiation based on the personal values of the video creator(s). The cartoon approach is very inventive. Just the sort of creation we're looking for and definitely meets our video brief. Where's yours? You could win £15,000!

University of Hertfordshire spreads the news

A dude called Moid announced the Video Competition in the Digital Animation faculty of the University of Hertfordshire this week. He said; "....for those of you who have just graduated and aren't sure exactly what the future holds yet, £15,000 could go a long way to keeping you from worrying about it for a few months. Alternatively you could pay off your student debt! Or just have an extremely wild Summer... Now there's nothing to stop some of you from teaming up to do this and share the loot - let's face it, many of you have completed 3 minute animation masterpieces in the past three months, a short viral film (make it 30 seconds long say) split between two or three people... sounds perfectly plausible as a commission to me with a typical client deadline. Would be a good thing for those of you who are thinking of setting up as freelancers". So there you have it students. Go create!

Celebrating the life of Anthony Maynard

We really had to respond to @porridgelady's request to make porridge for all the cyclists raising money for in support of Anthony Maynard "who was killed, while cycling, in a road traffic accident near Henley on Thames in July 2008. Anthony was just 25 when he died, a popular young man, and a keen and talented Sportive rider. This event will be a fitting tribute, and is being run as a not-for-profit venture, with proceeds going to relevant charities." We've sent a very big bag of oats so @porridgelady can make porridge for all the riders coming out in support of this fund raiser. If you live in Berkshire and you're a keen cyclist then join in. There's more information here.

Hero products Originally uploaded by Mornflake The Grocer magazine kindly covered our new launch here. But they did use the wrong pack images so we've put them here just to remind you what all the fuss is about. It's also interesting to see how magazine and industry news sites cover slightly different angles on what we're doing.
