We bought a really nice camper so that we can get away during the weekends, and random times during the summer. We really do enjoy camping because we get away from the normal life, and get to just relax. Lately I have been sleeping on the couch of our camper because it is so darn uncomfortable sleeping in the bed. The bed is part of one of the hybrid ends of the trailer. I asked my hubby the other day if he thought something like memory foam mattresses might help my situation. He seems pretty optimistic that it will help. I might try to find one cheap so that I don’t spend a fortune in the effort of trying to get comfortable. I don’t know if anyone else has had a comfort issue with these hybrid trailers, but I really need some suggestions.

I hate to admit to hubby that I appreciate all that he knows when it comes to computers. He loves to hear me admit the truth when it comes to him. Hubby hates to see misuse of a computer, abuse, and other vile computer related crimes. He jokes that he is going to call the computer police on me when I do something wrong. Recently I had a problem while he was away working. Being that hubby didn’t have any internet to be able to tap into my computer and check it out I had to explore a few other avenues. Being that one of the solutions that I found dealt with downloading software, and letting it do maintenance I decided that I needed to wait until hubby got home. I had found a system mechanic slow computer fix for my laptop, but I also know that installing software does not always fix problems, but can make problems worse. Without knowing a lot more computer stuff I don’t get involved.

When he got home I showed him what I had found for solutions on my own. He next told me that software like that is more, or less meant for the average computer user, and not the experienced computer professional. As soon as he was done explaining he immediately showed me just how fast he could fix the problem. I am sure that the software solution is great for some people, but when it comes to the computers in our house I will not go against hubby.

Over the past few years hubby and I have been trying to find new ways to increase business. Hubby has never done any real advertising other than business cards, and word of mouth. Hubby handles many different types of products. We have been trying some new things, and they have helped his business a little. This year we discussed having some flyers made up at a one of the local catalog printing facilities. This year when he does the fair he wants to make some major steps forward with his business, and we are still trying to devise the methods that will be used.

Do you have any suggestions at things that might work, or have worked for you?

In our house we have so many different sets of keys that are sitting around. We have keys for the house, 2 different trucks, my car, the camper, and keys for any doors in the house. From time to time I am in such a rush that I grab the wrong keys. Hubby has recently tried a new idea. He has put all the different sets of keys on a keychain carabiner. The only problem that I have with that is the keys weigh quite a bit, and he has also told me not to put much strain on a cars ignition. Hubby seems to like these things. He has his cigarette lighter on one, and all the different keys on another. He surprises me with how many keys he carries around.

I have often thought that maybe a key cabinet would work better. The only problem with that is where to put the key cabinet. I wouldn’t want the cabinet anywhere that it could be found easily, but I don’t want to have to hunt to find the keys, or have to go to a special location for the cabinet.

Do you have any suggestions for this problem?

I find that now as the little one grows loves to listen to music on a cheap mp3 player she has but because it’s cheap we have gone through so many different earphones. She somehow gets them caught on everything, and snaps them in two. Being that I am tired of paying for earphones I found these Chic Buds earphones. They cost $29.00 but are so worth it. What they are is a retractable ear bud that stop at 5 different points so she can have them as long, or as short as she wants them. They also have fastening clip for extra support. They come in many different styles too. So far she uses them all the time, even with her DVD player, DS, PSP, and IPhone. The best part is that she has not broken them yet. It was the best money I could spend .

For years we have been waiting for our daughter to tell us that she wants to do something during the summer months. She has finally mentioned it to us. We have never found anything that would appeal to her. Having her play soccer for the past few years has been great, but this Spring will be her last season. She just doesn’t want to play soccer anymore. We have asked her many times what she intends to do, and she has no real answers. During the summer we tend to go camping, and have pool parties at home. Hubby has his horseshoe tournaments a few times, but generally we don’t do much during the summer months. Vacationing isn’t really in the cards because we have a swimming pool that costs enough, and not opening, or using it just isn’t something we want to do.

Hubby and I have started to do some research into things that she can do. Allowing our daughter to just sit around, and do nothing is not an option. Finding something for her to do that is productive, and gives her a little exercise isn’t a bad thing. We found the 4H, girl scouts, camp, and also summer programs for teenagers. Our daughter has had a problem making friends in the past, but she is getting better. We really need to sit down with her, and let her help us make the decision.

Have you ever had a situation like this? What did you do?

My daughter and her friends seem to like to sing. I have always encouraged my daughter to do something that she likes. There have been times that I want to get them on camcorder and let them see what they can do when they put their mind to it. There are other times that I wouldn’t mind having a camcorder so that I can video them so I could put them up on YouTube. I have decided that I want to get my hands on a cheap audio type recorder so that they can record themselves. The nice part of this type of gadget would be that I could record some of our conversations so that she can’t deny something that she said in the past. The most popular one as far as I can see right now in searching is the zoom recorder. I don’t know how it works, but if anyone has one let me know your thoughts.

Before Christmas hubby went out and bought a truck in case he would need it for future emergency needs. Within a week or two he sold it. Within another few days he found another truck that he wanted, and we went to get it. I know hubby pretty well. Usually he takes something that he sees and likes without looking at other of the same type of item. He found a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 truck. He was also going to look at a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. We got to the 2500 and he immediatelly said that it didn’t look bad, and that he needed to look it over. After test driving it he said that it was fine, and we were taking it.

Since the truck came home he has been doing lots of different tinkering with it. He went out and put a muffler in the first day. The next day he went and got a set of fog lights. This weekend he was out toying with the trailer connection so that we can use the truck to haul our camper. When I came home he had me go out to the parts store for some bolts, spacers, and nuts. He wanted to reinforce something. I obliged him.

Why is it men always toy with their newest toy, and forget about their other toys? He never does anything to his 2006 Ford F150. Not like there is really anything to do, but he doesn’t go near it unless he is working. The last thing he said he has to work on is a vacuum leak. The truck runs, but until it warms up it seems like it is going to shut off on its own.

My brother in law was in the Marines. He has a coin collection of older coins. He also has a collection of military items that he has collected over the years. For Christmas this year I was totally stumped as to what to do for him in lines of a gift. I was going through things at the house and my granddaughter gave me an old coin for Uncle Joe. This gave me a brilliant idea. Why don’t I put both hobbies into one gift. Something special, and something he can enjoy. Something like the best selection of military coins that can be purchased. I can just envision the smile on his face if I could do something like this.

My ex-husband is musically inclined. He is also a computer whiz. Well… Maybe not that much. He loves to write and create something special whenever he can. He is always working on his guitar lyrics, and harmonies. I wanted to give him something that he would use, and enjoy for a long time to come. Since music is very special in our lives I thought about getting him something that would take care of his musical side. I searched, and searched the internet for just the right gift. I happened to find something called Ableton Live at Musician’s Friend website. I am not much for computers so I am not sure if this is something that would be right for him. He doesn’t have a Mac so Garage Band and things like that won’t work. I love when the house is filled with the sounds of music and laughter. I don’t want to get him something that might make him cry.

My beautiful granddaughter is like her momma. She loves horses. This year my husband and I have decided that we want to get her a pony in the future. We have enough property. All that I need to work on now is all of the accessories, gear, and clothing. We have to make her look the part of a smart horse woman. I have checked out lots of equestrian apparel at TheEquestrianCorner.com. I know that we will find something special for her when the time comes.

This year I have been talking to hubby about how he can possibly get a increase in business. He has been doing everything he can since the recent hurricane that ripped through New Jersey. I made the suggestion to him about getting an ad created on wholesale flyers that he can leave at stores, and in other places. Strangely enough hubby thinks that my idea is a good one. Other than business cards he has never done any sort of advertising in the past. This may be the first time that he will actually do something that may help him with his business.

I gave out some business cards while on the lines during Thanksgiving sales, and I will do it again on Black Friday. People are always talking to me, and this could be another way to help him with some advertising. I have faith in him because he has gained quite a few repeat customers over the years. They find that he is very professional, and very well skilled at his work.

If you are living in New Jersey, and need a stereo, tv, network, computer, or CCTV system for your home, or business then feel free to message me and I will have my hubby get in touch.

This week hubby and I did something that we never thought we would do. We ran two loads of scrap metal down to the recycling offices in our town. The first load was ok for getting rid of outside furniture that we weren’t using anymore. The most recent load was of assorted metals, and also hot water solar panels that we removed from hubby’s parents roof. They stopped working years ago, and just needed to be removed. After we got them back to the house hubby and I took the better part of a day separating the panels out. We had to remove the glass, then the copper, and then the aluminum. We got very little for the aluminum. The copper was where the money was at.

While we were down there we saw quite a bit of things that we never expected to see at a recycling outfit. We saw a guy get rid of a truck slide on camper, and we also saw a guy getting rid of old band equipment with things that looked like sabian groove hats. People will scrap whatever they can to bring in a few extra bucks from what I’ve seen.

For us we aren’t going to do scrapping for a living, but when we have a chance we will do whatever it takes to make a few extra dollars. Bulk day comes every other month, and we are both intending to go out and do some searching for metal.

Have you scrapped any metal? Did it work out for you?

This year brought a big change in what we expected our daughter to do when it came to school. We thought that she would want to tryout for soccer. She is actually thinking about leaving soccer after this coming season. She wants to do other things with girls that she goes to school with. This year she asked if she could try to get on the “Poms” for the school. We were both quite happy that our little one wanted to do something other than sit around and play video games in her spare time.

She seems very happy. The other day she came home and told us how in high school the girls sometimes get to go to other places to perform. She informed us that Disney World was one of the ones that they have gone in the past. We told her that it all costs money, and there is no freebies. Our little one is growing up so fast. This scares her dad. He doesn’t want boys to look at her until she is 18. I also don’t want her to think about boys until much later.

Do you have a child? Have they ever done school extra curricular activities?

It has been some time since we had anyone staying with us. Recently I had a family member ask if he could stay at our house for a little while so he could get his life organized. We said ok because it will help a little with the bills. Today hubby moved our daughters gaming equipment up from the basement into her “Hang Out Room.” This is going to be where she gets to play her video games, and hang out with her friends. When he was doing everything he said that the basement setup could use a few things. He suggested I look through the local stores for flat screen tv stands. I told him that I am not spending anymore money on the basement right now, and especially if someone was going to be living in the basement.

He understands my reasons, and also agreed that the money situation isn’t great, and any money doesn’t need to be spent on the basement. When our daughter came home she immediatelly noticed the room and said that it was nice, but a bit small. Our little one is very picky, and demanding. We told her that she could have that… Or nothing at all. She said she will deal with it.

Kids are something else. Do you have kids? Have they ever complained about something that you did for them?
