Sony Ericsson’s MediaGo™ enables you to automatically convert files from your computer when downloading to the player. The PlayNow™ store offers a great deal of new material including videos, movies and more music than before. With social networking continuing to increase the inclusion of Facebook on the home screen is very welcome. Being able to watch YouTube videos is good as well along with BBC iPlayer and Sky Player.

The motion sensor enables the portrait function on your screen as well as makes it able to play motion sensitive games available for download from many sources including many 3D games. The GPS receiver when combined with Google Maps and the Wayfinder navigation software included means you can add geo-tags to photos and actually map your location in real time.

The existing memory is sufficient for 30 to 50 music tracks and can be expanded by adding up to a 16 MB SD card.

The W995 works on any 3G network or quad band GSM so it is a true worldwide phone. Supporting HSDPA you will get extremely fast data transfer and will operate in WiFi mode as well. You can also connect to the device via USB connection or Bluetooth.

Battery life is average for a Walkman device. The W995 has a great deal of functionality for the price. It is free on many mid range plans but has more features you would find on a higher level device with 3G access. The first user reviews have been very positive so we expect great things from the W995.

Sony Ericsson has really hit a home run with their new release on the Sony Ericsson W995. This is a brilliant extension of the long term Walkman line and includes a camera that can match the capabilities of the Cyber Shot series of stand alone cameras. The W995 has a simple standard slide design. The majority of the phone is in the bottom portion making it easier to hold in your hand. The TFT screen has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels placing it right in the middle of similar models in their price range. The W995 has an accelerometer built into the screen so that the display rotates between picture and landscape modes as you move the camera.

It is difficult to believe the quality of the camera included with the W995. The camera is fantastic. With an astounding 8.1 megapixels, the face detection, autofocus and flash features mean you can get rid of your stand alone camera. With an 8.1 megapixels the video quality is quite good and with a second camera you can make video phone calls on a 3G network.

The music player is the Walkman player 4.0, and includes features like custom playlists, shuffle, equalizer functions, album art and more. The FM radio has RDS to show you the station and song that is playing at that time. Clear Bass and Clear Stereo are new functions from Sony included in the music player. The 3.5mm audio jack allows the use of regular headphones. For those who travel by air frequently the flight mode allows you to shut of the phone portion of the device while still being able to watch videos and listen to music.

WRITE A REVIEW ON SAMSUNG i8910 HD

HD or High Definition is the rage for all types of televisions, recorders and devices to play back video. Samsung is the first mobile phone manufacturer to incorporate HD technology in their camera offering. The Samsung i8910 HD has an HD video recorder and has the largest OLED display on the market at 3.7 inches across diagonally. Samsung uses the Symbian operating system as the basis for all of its applications. The camera boasts 8 megapixels and operates via touch screen. The i8910HD also can access the internet via WiFi connectivity and is endowed with a GPS system as well.

If you are looking to consolidate all of your mobile devices and ditch the laptop for everything but the most difficult of projects the Samsung i8910 HD is the answer. From a weight standpoint it compares favorably with the Apple 3G; however, it is definitely narrower and fits your hand more ergonomically. This phone has just about any spec you are looking for with the biggest and best of everything. It’s about the same size and weight as the iPhone 3G. If you use your device outdoors on a regular basis the new OLED display technology comes in handy. It makes the various icons and screens easier to view in various outdoor conditions. It is extremely important when the interface is a touch screen instead of buttons. Along with the new OLED technology is a higher screen resolution of 640 x 370 pixels. Photos and videos pop off the screen with this new combination. The user interface is TouchWiz, a system that Samsung users have been using for some time. The touch screen controls are very intuitive and you can sweep or tap to drag and drop and there is a virtual QWERTY keyboard.

While the Symbian S60 5.0 operating system is a standard with all new Samsung phones the average Windows user may have some issues with the i8910 HD as their first Symbian device. The resident camera is powerful enough along with its features of autofocus, 4x digital zoom and flash to throw away you average digital camera. Other features including face detection and panorama modes make for a powerful photographic device. With all of these features we would have preferred a xenon flash for the optimum results.

As a video camera, the i8910 HD performs better than any other video recorder available because of its HD capability. When recording in HD format your record rate will drop to 24 frames per second, so if you are shooting action sports you may want to sacrifice some resolution to get a better overall video. The paradox is that you can record in HD resolution but you won’t be able to see the benefits of the recording on your own screen (screen resolution is not high enough for HD).

When it comes to music the i8910 HD arguably has the best sound without the use of headphones due to its stereo speakers at the top and bottom of the device. It can be purchased with either 8GB or 16GB of resident memory but will take a microSD card up to 32GB. The motion sensor included means you can play more games and the phone will move between landscape and portrait modes if you rotate the phone. The i8910 HD uses the new HSUPA technology which will allow faster up loads (10x) than 3G along with faster downloads as well. If you want the latest technology in a proven operating system and full touch screen technology the Samsung i8910HD is the device you need.

The Nokia N97 is more than just an upgraded Nokia N96. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard and refined touchscreen make the N97 its own model. The 5 megapixel camera has Carl Zeiss optics,a GPS, WiFi capable and 32GB of on board memory. According to Nokia this is the most flexible and powerful hand held device available.

The Nokia N97 does offer more features than most. The N97s new design concept is impressive even considering Nokia’s boastful claims. It really is much more than a phone. Virtual keyboards are often difficult to use so the QWERTY keyboard allows you ease of use while texting, using e-mail or writing in files making all uses easier here than on an old-style cell phone. The touch screen will demand most of your attention. It measures 3.5 inches across, the same as the Apple iPhone 3G S, but it has a higher resolution, at a massive 640 x 360 pixels. The touch screen is a resistive type, similar to other Nokia models, and the menus can be sluggish in responding. This is a common detriment in other previous N series phones. It can feel a little awkward compared to other touch screen systems you may be used to.

The home screen of the phone is fully customizable. You can view anything you would expect on a home computer screen like the date & time, your inbox, the weather forecast, RSS feeds, Facebook and quick links to your favorite web pages. Tap any web icon the chosen pages open up. There are easily recognizable prompts to scroll and zoom making viewing pages on the web a breeze. Your download speed is very fast with a 3G HSDPA or Wi-Fi connection. As with anything, your speeds will be determined by your internet service. Flash videos will load effortlessly with the support running underneath the system.

With a built in GPS receiver along with the supplied Nokia Maps program, you can find your location, add geo-tags to photos and find directions to your final destination. Also included are multi media city guides and an actual compass feature as well. This will help on any outside activities where you need to know what direction to travel. A final touch is the voice activated driving software included for the GPS.

There are numerous applications available for download and many are free of charge for the Nokia N97. You can use Nokia’s Ovi store to download games, videos, other content, music and more that are compatible with the Symbian operating system.

While the camera is the same as what is in the N96, you can’t go wrong with Carl Zeiss optics for picture quality and clarity. The camera can take the place of the average stand alone digital camera available for the same price as the N97 under normal light.

The Nokia N97 has so many features it’s hard to describe them all. With the portability, camera and music player functions it’s much more than a computer. Couple of final notes on Nokia N97: The N97 comes with 32MB of resident memory. You can add up to a 16 MB SD card for up to 48 MB of memory for photos, videos or music files. Nokia’s battery is said to have up to 6 hours of talk time along with over 7 hours of standby time. You shouldn’t have any issues running out of a charge under normal use.

Every Brand has its own uniqueness to sell itself and Samsung is no different by trying to sell its mobile handsets with its breath-taking looks. There were similar reactions when the curtains were raised from the Samsung Soul U900 displaying its metal bodywork with beautiful finishing given to the phone.

But looks are not all the phone has; this one is beauty with brains and has all what you would need in a phone. It comes with a useful 5 MP camera to meet all your digital camera needs and capture those perfect moments right from your phone. The high tech camera comes with a list of features which the normal camera phones usually miss, like face recognition, image stabilization, auto focus and more.

The Samsung Soul U900 also comes with a touch screen to replace the usual D pad in the case of which the screen is completely transformed to the feature you select. The selectable icons on the touch screen get replaced to match the selected feature in the phone. Like for example, if you select the camera, the icons in the touch screen allow you to select features of camera such as it helps you change resolution, enable micro or get going to the video mode. It also comes with a central confirmation key and standard call and call end keys.

Touchscreen is in and everyone is looking for a touch phone to follow the ongoing touch screen trend. You have some interesting adjustments for your touch screen in the phone, like the haptics and sensitivity adjustment. Haptics is what gives your phone a vibration when you hit any key on the screen and sensitivity allows you to adjust the way you would hit your keys on the screen. Sensitivity when kept high helps you make selection with a lightest touch and when kept high helps you make the touch on the screen as it is a normal key.

The menu is very user friendly helping you make use of the phone without any guidance or training from any other source and can also be highly personalized to meet your taste and mood. The color, background icons, animation and dialed numbers can also be changed according to how you want it to look.

This is not it; Samsung Soul U900 also has the advanced need of the hour features like the 3G, HSDPA connectivity, FM RDS radio and interesting multimedia option like the media player to support your MP3 and video playback. And to support this, the phone comes with an in built memory of 100 MB which can be expanded up to 6 GB using a micro SD card.

But there is still room for improvement like in the field of camera; the camera can be made of better standards to meet the high end CyberShot phones of Sony Ericsson. Also the phone can be made tri band instead of its current quad band phone system.

Rest all is perfect for you to buy this stunning looking Samsung Soul U900 phone which is light weighted and can suit all your requirements needed in the current trend of mobile phones.

WRITE A REVIEW ON HTC MAGIC

HTC along with Vodafone and Google has launched this very useful phone named HTC Magic which unlike the usual HTC’s comes with the Google android operating system.

One of the most striking features of the phone is its option to personalize the screen according to exactly how you want it to be. The home page provided can be highly customized to add the required widgets which you would make use of the maximum number of times. There are also a number of essential online tools which can be added right in your home page. Also if the built in applications and widgets are not enough then you can download more from the net.

Accessing e-mail has never been a problem with HTC’s MS Outlook but since this is not a windows mobile, HTC along with Vodafone has integrated Gmail in the phone in a very smart manner. Now you have no chance to miss a single mail on as this Gmail comes with a smart notification option in which you are immediately notified of an e-mail when it reaches your inbox. And replying to those important e-mail is never a problem with a built in touch screen keyword which gives you an option to quickly respond to your e-mails or text.

The looks are as great as the features; the phone comes with a classy look and detailing is taken utmost care with a glossy white finish. The phone comes with a 3.2 inches high resolution screen, so you can now enjoy all the action and fun right from your phone. It also comes with a 3.2 MP camera which allows you to capture all the perfect moments without the need of a separate expensive digital camera. Multimedia is also taken care of with an integrated MP3 player to add music to your business phone.

The list of features is endless; there are a number of more features for your android phone, like the phone comes with a 528 Qualcomm processor which is common among most of the HTC phones. You can also enjoy surfing the internet using the Wi-Fi technology in built in the phone. It also supports the standard Micro SD card to expand your memory and store all your extra images, videos or business documents.

Now you need not get lost on your way, as with HTC Magic at hand, you can also enjoy the additional functionality of an inbuilt GPS system which lets you explore your destination and locate your route on its 3.2 inch high resolution screen. It also provides you with the exceptional Google Maps which helps you figure out the maps to all the roads in the world. So with the help of this intelligent system you can not only locate your current position but also explore different roadmaps to reach it.

This phone provides an excellent blend of recognized and trusted names, be it HTC’s reliable service, Google’s operating system or Vodaphone’s trusted networks, this phone has it all. No wonder, its Magic!

WRITE A REVIEW ON LG VIEWTY KU990

There are very few mobile phones which have a very large touchscreen and an excellent viewer interface to boot. LG has brought out its latest offering, the LG Viewty KU990 (a very unsuitable name for it, we feel). This touchscreen mobile phone has been packed with features so many by LG that even Q will be seconded in his packing skills for James Bond.

We are sure there will be comparisons with the Prada-another touchscreen from LG’s stables, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the Apple iPhone. The Viewty is neither a fashionable phone like the Prada, or a mini-music system like the Nokia 5800 Express Music nor like the multi faceted iPhone. It is just a large touchscreen mobile with an excellent mobile camera; or should we say a proper digital camera with call making facility.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that to be honest. One glance at the Viewty and it’s obvious that it was intended as a camera more than a phone. Viewty offers a 5MP camera with autofocus and Xenon flash. Its video recorder is quite capable too. It offers 120fps video recording capability when others in the market are bragging about their 20. Also included are loads of video and audio editing software, built-in, to add to that enviable experience of clicking amazing pictures with your mobile phone. It is extremely simple to edit your images and music files with a touch of a few keys. Here’s a mobile that will allow you to do what you used to on your desktop or your laptop. An extremely mobile editor I must say.

Needless to say it offers the best available internet connectivity. Now adding your videos to YouTube and MySpace can be instantaneous. Just CLICK, EDIT and UPLOAD… Its 3.5G connectivity allows you to video conference with anyone on the planet. To add to that it has an excellent media player which includes a Divx decoder that can play video files of numerous formats stored on your Micro SD card.

The touchscreen interface is good as any and offers various applications to use with it. Although it does not have the style and the oomph factor associated with the Prada, it has overtaken the other touchscreen models by a long way. The Flash based software is still fun to use with its really amazing speeds. This time around LG has also included a landscape-viewed, full screen QWERTY keyboard.

Size and Weight have been optimized in the Viewty despite it being loaded with features. It weighs around a hundred and ten grams and is 15mm thick. The features however have taken a toll on the operating speed of the Viewty. LG has claimed that it can remain in standby mode for around 400 hours but tests have shown otherwise. Also the battery takes a toll when the heavy editing software is used.

Even though there are a few put-offs one can’t complain about them when such awesome features are loaded onto one masterpiece.

This week, UK mobile broadband providers had came out with some of the best laptop deals in the market to attract UK consumers. More information of those laptop deals are described below….

As of today, O2 has cut the price of its Samsung NC10 deal with a monthly usage limit of 3GB to £29.38 per month over 24 months. Meanwhile, a second deal for NC10, but which features a monthly usage limit of 10GB, has dropped in price to £39.15. Both laptop packages entitle subscribers to a free O2 dongle, unlimited access to 7,500 Wi-Fi hotspots around the UK and a broadband connection of up to 3.6Mb.

O2’s price cuts follow the launch last week of a competing Samsung NC10 offer from 3 mobile. Priced at £30 per month over 18 months, this features a monthly download limit of 5GB and a free 3 mobile broadband dongle.

It is now thought that Vodafone could be set to follow suit and slash the cost of its Samsung NC10 packages to compete. Currently, the broadband supplier offers the NC10 for £25 over a 24-month contract, along with 1GB of usage per month. Alternatively, buyers can opt to pay £30 per month for the computer and 3GB of usage per month over 24 months.

Unlike the packages from O2 and 3, Vodafone’s deals features a model of the NC10 which is pre-embedded with a broadband 3G SIM. The offer also features a connection of up to 7.2Mb, compared with a maximum of 3.6Mb for those of its rivals.

Today has also seen O2 cut the cost of its offers for the Samsung R510 2GB laptop. From hereon in, customers will pay an excess of just £48.93 when they sign up for a mobile broadband contract with the provider. Meanwhile, those opting for the 3GB version of the R510 will pay £78.29 for the laptop on top of their monthly contract charge.

An array of brand new mobile broadband laptop deals have arrived on 3 mobile, including a monthly contract offer for the award-winning Samsung NC10.

As of today, the Acer 751 and the Samsung R519 have been added to the broadband provider’s range of mobile broadband packages. Also appearing on 3 for the first time is the Samsung NC10, which has been consistently rated as one of the best netbooks on the market.

Consumers can get the Samsung NC10, ordinarily priced at over £400, when they sign up for 18 months at £30 per month. The package also includes a 3 mobile broadband dongle as well as 5GB of usage per month.

This deal is expected to be in particular demand, following the appearance of a series of glowing reviews for the NC10 in the technology press. PC Pro was sufficiently impressed to award the netbook five out a possible six stars. Meanwhile, testers at T3 dubbed Samsung’s computer their “favourite new netbook” and singled out its impressively large 10.2-inch LED screen and ergonomic PC style keyboard for particular praise.

The equally impressive Acer Aspire 751 is also on offer with the broadband supplier on an 18-month contract. This features an 11.6-inch backlit display, 2GB of RAM and battery life of up to seven hours. The deal is priced at £35 per month and includes a 3 dongle to get you online and up to 5GB of usage per month.

Finally, the Samsung R519 is home to a 15.6-inch screen with HD resolution, 2GB of memory and a Pentium dual core processor to allow fast, simultaneous use of applications. This is available over a 24-month contract at £35 per month over 24 months and is bundled with a dongle with a massive monthly usage limit of 15GB.

Jessica McArdle, marketing manager at Top 10 Broadband, said: “Monthly contract broadband laptop deals are a great way of spreading payments for expensive netbooks.”

“With a new term fast approaching for students, 3’s laptop offerings couldn’t have come at a better time.”
