Some new info leaked about the BlackBerry Controller and according to the latest rumors, the unit is not the early diagnosis 4 of 5 times, which is obviously not good. If the rumor holds, the BlackBerry Controller are conducted for Sprint, because Sprint had the device on the logo.

It is a GSM/HSPA version of the device and the models are used as the BlackBerry 9900 and BlackBerry 9930. It looks like the HSPA version will support UMTS 850/1900MHz bands, which are with AT & T and Rogers ‘3 G would make nets to.

Looks like RIM is heading south, to South America. In a recent interview RIM’s Jim Balsillie Co-Chief Exec of the news agency Reuters that the company would begin to BlackBerry devices in Brazil. RIM will produce the model curve 8520 in the country, signed by an agreement with Flextronics of Singapore.

I need the cap from RIM for this step tip. Brazil has the largest economy in Latin America, and for some time, I asked when they went onto the market to … and with what device. Now I know, they meet with Brazil, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 … a move that RIM has no doubt, ran to find out the numbers, it will work in their favor. Kind of sense to me. When video conference technology was first launched it was a real glimpse of the future. In 1964 video conferencing received its introduction to the world at the World’s Fair in New York. American Telephone and Telegraph, Inc. (AT&T) used the fair to announce to the world that they had created a new video-phone system, called the Picturephone. Nearly 10 years in the making the Picturephone presented the world with a glimpse of the possible communication opportunities that the future held. Like all innovative technologies its initial stumbling block was the cost to the consumer. When AT&T released it onto the consumer market in 1970, it cost a staggering $160 per month for each fixed line (worth around $1,150 in 2010).

In the coming years improvement in the technology improved (notably, Ericssons trans-Atlantic video telephone call and IBM Japan, who established an internal video conference between themselves and in the US for weekly business meetings. In the 1980s a number of companies began to sell video conference services commercially. However it continued to be extremely expensive although this was decreasing. In 1982 Compression Labs video-conferencing service cost $250,000 set-up and $1,000 per hour for the line. By the end of the 1980s the price had dropped to $80,000 set-up with a $100 per hour line fee.

The 1990s saw a rapid advancement of video conference calling systems due to many factors, including advanced in video compression and Internet Protocol (IP). The price continued to drop but it still remained prohibitively expensive. Until the end of the 1990s when free software such as MSN and Yahoo messenger, to name a couple was launched and although the picture quality was very poor it was clear that cheap quality video conferences were on their way.

By the time the millennium kicked into gear fast internet became available at reasonable prices. Video compression technologies continued to improve to the stage where we can now rely entirely on desktop computers and standard PC servers to achieve boardroom quality video conferences.
