I’ve finally gotten all of the videos loaded, so I’m going to list them all here. In case you haven’t seen any of the other stuff, just a disclaimer: I was in this wedding, so I couldn’t be at prime filming positions (the shooting was for fun and not a hired job) and I had owned the camera for only two days, so I was still figuring out settings and such (and currently still am!). Monkey Wash is a soap product that will be out soon. It’s not just soap, though, it’s high powered commercial grade soap that cleans nearly anything, including the soft-tops of jeeps, all without harming the material. I drew the jeep for part of the Web site design. We ultimately decided against using the jeep for the site so as not to lead people to believe that recreational vehicles are the only things for which the soap can be used. I really like my jeep though, so it may make an appearance someday down the road once the soap has been established. I just got an e-mail informing me that my Christmas cards have been shipped and should be arriving at my doorstep soon. This year, I decided to have the pros print and cut my cards for me. It costs a little extra, but in the long run not that much more than printing and cutting at home. It is becoming a tradition that I make my own cards for Christmas and other holidays. This tradition started last year when I was bored with the thought of sending a “typical” Christmas card and decided to design one myself using one of my friends as the “subject.”</p> <p>After scouring Facebook for hours to find the perfect images (I had the idea in mind based on one image, but needed another to go along with the first), browsing the stock (image) exchange for a background, pouring over the font catalogs for the perfect font and a heck of a lot of Photoshopping, I had a card design. I chuckled at my cleverness (ha ha), printed, cut and started mailing.</p> <p>I was a tad nervous about how my friend would react when she realized that she was character in <em>all</em> of my Christmas cards that year. I had this great elaborate apology worked out in my head though, so I didn’t feel so bad about it. Once the first cards arrived to their recipients’ mailboxes, I received phone calls with laughter on the other end and phrases such as, “Oh, Katie’s gonna kill you!” (Katie is the friend I’ve been referring to.) Katie was a good sport about it, actually and knew that I meant her no harm in the matter. In fact I meant the opposite of harm. You have to possess a certain specialness to be featured in a card that goes out to provide a moment of holiday cheer to my family and friends. There’s a combination of things that just have to “work.” I can’t fully describe it.</p> <p>This year there’s an anticipation of who will be next. What will this Christmas’ card be about? We’ll all have to wait until UPS gets to my house with my box of cards.
