Office 15 geht in die Technical Preview

PJ Hough, Corporate Vice President of Development, Microsoft Office Division, hat im Office Exec Blog den Start der Office 15 Technical Preview bekanntgegeben.

Was bedeutet dies?

Ein kleiner Kreis ausgewählter Microsoft Partnern erhält die nächste Generation von Office, um zu testen und Feedback zu geben. Das Technical Preview Programm steht unter strikter NDA – alle Beteiligten sind zur Geheimhaltung verpflichtet. Insofern gibt es derzeit und auch in absehbarer Zeit nichts über die nächste Version zu sagen.

PJ hat aber zwei Punkte in seinem Posting hervorgehoben: mit Office 15 wird die ganze Office/SharePoint/Cloud/Mobile/Projekt usw. Palette auf einen Schlag aktualisiert werden:

“At this early point in our development cycle, I'm not able to share too much about Office 15, but I can tell you Office 15 is the most ambitious undertaking yet for the Office Division. With Office 15, for the first time ever, we will simultaneously update our cloud services, servers, and mobile and PC clients for Office, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Project, and Visio. Quite simply, Office 15 will help people work, collaborate, and communicate smarter and faster than ever before.”

Und im Sommer wird es eine öffentliche Betaversion zum Testen geben

Kombiniert man SharePoint und InfoPath, bekommt man ein sehr leistungsfähiges Werkzeug um formularbasiert Lösungen oder UI-Erweiterung zu erstellen. Angefangen von erweiterten Listenformularen über eigene Erfassungsformulare mit eigener Logik bis hin zu Benutzeroberflächen für Geschäftsprozesse – es lohnt sich, die Fähigkeiten des Teams SharePoint/InfoPath einmal zu erkunden.

Jasper Oosterveld hat eine sehr schöne 7-teilige Serie dazu veröffentlicht, die anhand praktischer Beispiele hier einen guten Überblick gibt.

Doing Social Business with SharePoint is easy and hard at the same time.

Easy, because SharePoint has lot's of basic social functions build in like mysites, ratings, content tagging, blogs, wikis, noteboards, and more. Just start to use them.
Hard, because the basic out of the box functions SharePoint falls short of many end-user expectations around social. Customization or the addition of third-party products is needed.
