Hey everyone, I found some really great videos on YouTube that go over some basic theories on how to break down and score against 3-2 and 2-3 zone defenses.  Check them out and let me know your thoughts.

Earlier today, I read about a guy named Wong Sun, someone who is happy whether there is rain or whether it is Monday morning…  And, he is in the shoe repair profession.

I think, really, that happiness is not where you travel, what you do, or what you have, but rather is about finding the inner peace within.

I think just being able to do a good job at whatever it is that you or I are/am doing and to feel satisfaction from doing so goes a long way towards that inner peace.

So, here is to Mr. Wong Sun!  May we all have that inner peace and joy!

This morning, I received a very unfortunate news about a dear friend who has recently passed away.  I share this news with you because there is something really amazing about him.  Even after he passed away, he still loves others and he still gives others.  He gave away his organs so that others could live.  He has created a fund at his church to help continue his efforts in Mongolia.  This is really truly remarkable.

I am little bit surprised to hear the news because he was a healthy and energetic person.  He went back to US to be with family, I was told.  It is entirely possible that he wasn’t feeling well and/or even knew that his time was limited.  He really wanted to help others, and you could see it in his eyes and in the way he gave his attention and time.

I am very happy to have met someone so wonderful.  Religious differences aside, I know his spirit and/or energy will continue on, and that is a very good thing.  I truly wish him and his family, friends, and loved ones the best.

Below is his obituary that I received via email today.  Let’s all pray for him and his loved ones.  Let’s also pray that all of us will develop the compassion, love, and understanding for each other in the way that George loved us.

George J. Sheridan, 68, died on June 16, 2011. George was an active advocate for equality, justice and health. He was a social worker who faithfully served his community, including those who suffered from HIV/AIDS, inmates, addicts and veterans. George’s burgeoning devotion to provide support to the afflicted and unrepresented brought him around the globe. In Honduras, he dispensed medical and relief aid. George administered food distribution and support to Cambodian refugees in Thailand. He traveled to Pakistan to help at-risk women, children and addicts. George recently returned from a two-year trip to Mongolia where he advanced hospital standards and secured much-needed medical supplies.

George also contributed as a pastor at the First Baptist Church in Morristown, NJ and the Westchester Baptist Church in NY.

George’s spirit of compassion, truth and intrinsic goodness will continue to be cultivated in the hearts of the many he’s inspired. He leaves behind a large loving family as well as a multitude of ardent and cherished friends too many to name here. He is survived by his sister, Ann, and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and Evelyn “Babe”, James and Janet, and Joseph and Margaret,

Even after death, George continues to give. He has donated his organs and tissue to help others live fuller and more productive lives.

George’s funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Westfield (170 Elm St., Westfield, NJ) on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00. The burial will follow at Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery (53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ).

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to foster the continuance of George’s work with the VSO in Mongolia. Please forward any contributions made out to the First Baptist Church Morristown, 51 Washington Street, Morristown, NJ 07960 with the memo filled out as “Mongolia Fund”.

The Tokyo Electric Power Company is now saying that it will take nine months or more to secure the Fukushima Daiichi power facility from the meltdown that it is experiencing. As I’ve said here earlier, it’s been hard for me to figure out exactly where truth resides in all of the excited reporting coming from all directions. This much seems clear: a great deal (more than 100 tons) of radioactive material began to be discharged onto the land, sea and air. Exposed fuel rods in empty, cracked cooling pool may soon release 130 tons of uranium directly into the environment. Some of the reactors were dramatically out of control and melting down. Here’s an informative, but critical, assessment of a number of aspects of the distribution and potential impact of the radioactive plume. Radioactive Currents and Winds The radioactive particles (not radiation) are being carried around the world, primarily in the northern hemisphere. The reach of this fallout is quite extensive. Europeans have already been warned to avoid drinking milk or eating vegetables due to high radiation levels and significant radiation levels have been measured in some areas of the western US. To the question of what should be done about all this, there are essentially conventional and unconventional approaches. There has been a great deal of commentary about the truth – or shortage of it – that is being promulgated by governments and nuclear industry leaders about this event. The Japanese government has admitted that they have been both manipulating and withholding information to contain potential “panic” – which strangely seems to always be the only way that governments think that informed citizens will respond. It’s as though they can handle the information, but believe that we can’t. Perhaps they’re simply acting out of an inability to provide citizens with either effectively useable information or protection. Just guessing.

So, do you think this lack of transparency will result in a better long-term solution? If the continuing situation in the Gulf of Mexico since the capping of the blown oil well is any indication, then we’re almost certain to find out in the coming months and years that this accident was much more dangerous to life than we have been led to believe. Yesterday, I gave a presentation at Mongolia University of Science and Technology (MUST) to aspiring college students at AIESEC Mongolia’s “Business Event 2011″.  In return, I got a nice little certificate, which I am proud to put up on my office window.

I will add that I was very happy to have a captive and interested audience. I was happy to have many interesting questions. Hopefully, I was able to share some useful thoughts to my guests.

BTW, the topic of my presentation of “Using technology for personal development”. I used the same presentation slides that I used at Tavan Bogd group, when I did a training of the executives at the company. However, this time, my presentation was in Mongolian language and I tried to tailor my messages to the young and hopeful crowd as much as possible.

This was my second event with AIESEC.  In February, I did an Entrepreneurship workshop at their National Leadership Training weekend.

You know, time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.

It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went.

I know that I lived them all…

And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams… But, here it is.. the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise… How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go?

I remember well… seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like…  But, here it is…my friends are retired and getting gray…they move slower and I see an older person now. Lots are in better shape than me… but, I see the great change…  Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant… but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we’d be.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day!  And taking a nap is not a treat anymore…it’s mandatory!  Cause if I don’t on my own free will..I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!!

But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I’m not sure how long it will last…this I know, that when it’s over…its over….Yes , I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn’t done ,,,,,things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I’m happy to have done.  It’s all in a lifetime….

So, if you’re not in your winter yet…let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly!  Don’t put things off too long!!

Life goes by quickly.  So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not!

You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life.. so, live for good today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember… and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!!

While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked up stone and scratched lines on the side of the car.  In anger, the man took the child’s hand and hit it many times; not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures.

When the child saw his father…..with painful eyes he asked, ‘Dad when will my fingers grow back?’  The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.

Devastated by his own actions…….sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written ‘LOVE YOU DAD’.

The next day that man committed suicide. . .

Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life…..

Things are to be used and people are to be loved, But the problem in today’s world is that, People are used and things are loved…

During this year, let’s be careful to keep this thought in mind: Things are to be used, but People are to be loved … Be yourself….This is the only day we HAVE.  Have a nice day!

I got this from an email from a friend.  I think in short, you already should be living your life the way you want to live it.  Don’t throw away the future, but don’t overlook the present either.

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican fishing village.

A tourist complimented the local fishermen on the quality of their fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

“Not very long.” They answered in unison.

“Why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?”

The fishermen explained that their small catches were sufficient to meet their needs and those of their families.

“But what do you do with the rest of your time?”

“We sleep late, fish a little, play with our children, and take siestas with our wives.  In the evenings, we go into the village to see our friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs.  We have a full life.”

The tourist interrupted,  “I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.”

“And after that?”

“With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant.

You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City!

From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.”

“How long would that take?”

“Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years.” replied the tourist.

“And after that?”

“Afterwards? Well my friend, that’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the tourist, laughing. “When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make
millions!”

“Millions? Really? And after that?” asked the fishermen.

“After that you’ll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends.”

“With all due respect sir, but that’s exactly what we are doing now. So what’s the point wasting twenty-five years?” asked the Mexicans.

And the moral of this story is:
Know where you’re going in life … you may already be there!

Don’t get me wrong.  I love Connie Francis and all of the blue, heart-felt songs, but I think it’s time I don’t listen to loser songs again.

As Tony Robbins, Andrew Carnegie, Buddha, and many other famous and successful people would agree or would have agreed, the principle of autosuggestion and the power of the mind in terms of “we are what we think” or “as a man thinketh“, I will no longer dilute my thoughts with songs about how sad I am, how I am not sure what to do, how poor/unlucky I am, etc.

I want to win and win big this year and beyond.

I don’t really have time or energy to spend on thinking about or singing aloud or listening to songs that fester unproductive thoughts in my mind whether consciously or subconsciously.

So, bring on the Top Gun soundtrack.  Tupak’s Me Against the World is welcome – at least the “you can do it” message in it is pretty awesome.

My goal this year is to completely wire and rewire my brain for success.  Every morning I have been reading my power quotes as suggested to me by “Think and Grow Rich” as well as Anthony Robbins success tapes.  I will talk about this in another post.

In any case, I think it’s really wonderful to start every day built for success.  The stuff about first seeing your success before you get there is IMHO very truly.

I wish you a successful day today and each day that you decide to make it so!

PS: Connie Francis is an under-appreciated and extremely talented musician from the 1950′s and 60′s.  Correct me if I am wrong: Her music is awesome, however, I do think some of the music is a bit too blue and sad if you are serious about winning!!

Last Friday at the Steppe Inne of British Embassy, three very talented and good looking Mongolian young ladies played some great music.

Everyone was impressed with, not just their presentation, but their music skills as well. When they first walked in, the women in attendance greeted the musicians with “oohs” and “aah”.  I don’t believe any of us really were ready for the well dressed women to walk in…  I do know this though: their musical skills were really quite good.
