We've Moved!!

Effective today, we have moved our Freebie Fridays over to Two Paper Divas. (see all the details for the above project on Divas) You will still see the same great ideas and techniques for free each Friday. Today will be our last post on Mega Stampin Studio. The site will remain up indefinitely so that you will still be able to go back to our past posts from the last 2+ years as well as have access to all our patterns, ideas, etc.

We have three blogs and have found that we can't keep all three going up to our standards. Two Paper Divas will still have all the great things you have loved about Mega but will be combined with our online store. Please make sure you have subscribed to our Divas' site so that you don't miss any of our future posts.

We have loved sharing everything with all of you on MeGa and so appreciate your support. We are committed to keeping up the same quality of projects, cards, etc that you have found here. Don't forget to visit Divas to see instructions on how to creat this project!

Graduation Gift Box

Although most high school graduations are over, there are still a lot of kids graduating from college. So, it's not to late to make one of these fun little matchbox money holders. You can see the original one Gayla did on Paper Fashions, Etc. Both use our brand new Graduation Set that was posted here on Paper Fashions, Etc. along with a FREE tutorial for a great gift card holder!

The matchbox was made using Stampin' Up!'s matchbox die and regular card stock. The inside pages were cut and scored to tuck neatly inside the box. The top (hat) is a 3x3 inch piece of card stock. The little tassels were made using embroidery thread and secured in the top of the hat with a small brad.

Another Scrappin' and Recipe Share

This week's layout is Pumpkin Pie, Black and White. We actually used SU! Halloween patterned paper for a non-Halloween page/recipe.

This recipe uses Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, and Whisper White card stock. The patterned paper is retired SU! Faux stitching was added around the recipe. Other supplies used: oval punch, Hodge Podge hardware, flower brads, and Pumpkin Pie rick rack.

You can see below that the 12x12 scrapbook page uses all the same card stock and patterned paper. In addition, we used Nestability circles. Now, it is ready for pictures.

Birthday Easel Card

I received this birthday card from Patty. She knows I LOVE polka dots and pink and brown. Perfect!

It is also an easel card....love them. The stack of presents is a retired SU! set. Lots of pink, brown, polka dot and embellishments - ribbon, brad, punches, etc. If you haven't made one of these great cards yet, give it a try. Thank you, Patty!

Freebie Friday - Cosmo Cricket Circle Flowers

A few weeks ago on our other blog, Paper Fashions, Etc., we shared our Seed Packet digi stamp on 3x3 gift cards that were embellished with these cute, cute flowers. So today, we are giving you the step-by-step directions on how to create your own.

Are you ready? These are pretty quick and so fun to do!

Gather your supplies: patterned paper, button, adhesive, 1-3/8" circle punch

Now, take 6 of the 7 circles you've punched and fold as shown below.

Now, attach the six folded circles to the seventh remaining circle. Adhere these circles side by side working around the circle.

Below is the what your flower should look like once you have added all six folded circles.

Then add a coordinating button - hopefully not a naked button!

Add to your project. We've attached ours to a 3x3 card.

Freebie Friday - Petal Punch Mini Box

Today we are sharing this adorable tiny box made with the Stampin' Up! Petal Card punch. These would be fun party favors for Mother's Day, a bridal/baby shower, graduation, birthday parties, etc.

So, let's get started! First, gather your supplies: card stock, punches, eyelets, candy

Next, punch four petal cards from Rose Red. We also cut 1" squares from Bashful Blue for our layer. Then you will leave one petal card whole. On two of the petal cards, cut off one side and on the fourth cut off two sides (across from each other). See picture below.

Then you glue this together in the order from above. Attach the second card to the first card - glue to the "petal" only. Then glue the third card to the second card - glue to the "petal" only again. Finally, glue the fourth card to the "petal" of the third. Below is what it looks like from the back.

After you glue all the above, you will connect the fourth card to the first creating your box. Then choose one end to be the bottom and glue those four "petals" closed.

Once that is done, it is time to decorate. We added the four Bashful Blue 1" embossed squares to the sides.

Here is what it looks like with the sides added.

Fold the top pieces down on to the sides. You can embellish with flowers and eyelets or leave off....we have shown you a sample of both.

Scrappin' Fun in May

Since May in National Scrapbook month, we thought it would be fun to show you how easy it is to take a 6x6 layout and turn it into a 12x12 layout. As you all know, we LOVE our 6x6 recipes. Soooo, how fun to use those as our first layout idea and then using the same color theme, paper and layout turn to a 12x12 scrapbook page. You are not only getting a great layout idea but one of our favorite recipes as well. We will share this idea every Wednesday in May. So, be sure to stop back every Wednesday for a new recipe and scrapbook page layout.

This 6x6 layout was created with Rose Red and White card stock. We also used retired SU! patterned paper. Each square has faux stitching. Grosgrain ribbon (pumpkin and turquoise), brads and the trio flower punch were used to embellish this recipe card.

You will definitely want to try this recipe. It's a keeper!

Next up is our coordinating 12x12 layout. Here we have taken the same basic layout as the 6x6 recipe but modified the colors a bit. The accents were changed from small flowers to large buttons and a journaling tag was added to the page.

Freebie Friday - Pansies & FREE Stamp!

Happy Friday, everyone and welcome to the last week of April and our Freebie Friday post! This post is special because we are not only sharing with you how to make these fun little flowers, but we are also sharing one of our NEW digi stamps that we introduced on our Paper Fashions, Etc. blog earlier this month AND, that's not all. We are offering a FREE digi download if you visit our new blog, leave us a comment here and tell us what you like best or something you would like to see us add. Be sure to leave your email in your comment so we can send the FREE digi stamps.

Today, we are going to share with you step-by-step details on how to make these easy peasy pansies!

First gather your supplies: card stock, Stampin' Up! butterfly punch, ink, sponge daubers, Crystal Effects, brads, black marker

Next, punch two butterflies and add yellow to the center of each.

Then, sponge around the outside of the butterflies with whatever color you would like. (For the card, we used Concord Crush.)

Once you have sponged these two, lay them on top of each other and add a black brad in the center. Draw black lines on the "flower" to create the pansy look. We have done the sample below with long lines and the card above uses smaller lines. We like both so you choose your favorite.

Now, add Crystal Effects with a brush lightly.

Let dry and add to your card. The Crystal Effects really adds a lot to the flower. We have also included the previously shown pansy card from earlier. These are such a fun flower! Enjoy!

Happy 50th Cupcake!

Here is a "big" cupcake card I made for a good friend for her 50th birthday. Her favorite color is green and her party was done in black and white so those were the three colors I chose for her card.

The cupcake "paper" and flowers were made with patterned paper. The cupcake paper was also run through a crimper. Small yellow flames were added to the "50" for my candles. I used Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Black and White card stock, black and white gingham, crimper, numbers die, and SU! Simple Birthday Thanks stamp.

Freebie Friday - Let's Celebrate Earth Day!

For our Freebie Friday project today, we thought about something that would go hand-in-hand with Earth Day and Good Friday. So,we decided on these paper mache "re-purposed" sheet music eggs!

First, gather your supplies: paper mache eggs, sheet music (or patterned paper, fabric), Mod Podge, paint brush

Once you have cut your sheet music in 1/2" strips, you simply cover the egg with some Mod Podge and add the strips. Cover the strips with Mod Podge as well. We found you need to be generous with the Mod Podge.

After you have totally covered your egg, put a nice coat of Mod Podge over the entire egg and allow to dry thoroughly before decorating. Notice that we used two different colors of sheet music - one is much older.

To decorate our eggs, we used punches, card stock and pearls. We used Crumb Cake and Black card stock, 5-petal flower punch and the Trio flower (retired) punch, a pearls.
