The second leg of the Yellow River Racing Series has been moved to Thursday, July 25th, with the running of a Special 100-lap event.  The winner of this event will take home a cool $3000!  Second place will pocket $2000, third is $1500, fourth will put $1200 in their pocket, while the fifth place position will earn $1000.  Wayne Brevik states, “we are very excited to announce the addition of this special race to our schedule.” Brevik further stated, “we are looking to put the largest field of cars in one feature event, something the State of Wisconsin hasn’t seen in many years.”  Marshfield Motor Speedway is looking to start 43 cars in this, a record purse! Race fans, your admission for this event will be only $5 for adults 15 and over.  Students 9 – 14 will be admitted for $3, and children 8 and under are free!  Entry forms will be posted online starting on Wednesday, May 15th.  Veteran driver Dean LaPointe states, “the staff at Marshfield Motor Speedway has worked hard to obtain an event of this kind.”  LaPointe added, “this will be an historic event at Central Wisconsin’s only 1/2 mile paved oval, it shows true dedication to the sport of racing by Wayne and his staff.”  Wisconsin Rapids, WI ace driver Mark Eswein stated, “I always enjoy racing at Marshfield Motor Speedway and I can’t wait for this special event!”

Racing on the heels of State Park Speedway’s Detjens Memorial Race Weekend, Marshfield GM Wayne Brevik believes that this could be a race weekend that fans won’t forget!  Brevik believes that having this special event on a Thursday will not only draw a large car count to his event, but believes it will add car count to State Park Speedway’s Detjens Memorial, as many drivers will drive to Wausau following the YRRS event.  Brevik stated, “I believe that all the tracks need to continue to work together to keep racing alive in Wisconsin.”

The second leg of the YRRS was originally scheduled for July 13th. With the change, Marshfield has added Ladies Night on its docket for July 13th with the Earth Incorporated Super Late Models, Midwest Trucks, 4 Cylinders, Bandits, and Rockets all competing!

Weather forecasters are predicting highs tomorrow to reach 45 with lows to dipping to the mid to upper 20′s.  Winds are expected to gust at 35 mph out of the North!  Track GM Wayne Brevik stated, “with the expected weather, I don’t expect the race fans to sit through that kind of inclement weather.”

Races will continue May 25th with the opening leg of the Yellow River Racing Series 75 – Lap feature event.

Marshfield, WI, May 7, 2013 – Racing resumes this Saturday night, May 11th at Marshfield Motor Speedway, with the running of the 75-lap Super Late Model, Yellow River Racing Series Feature event!  With the long winter behind us, race fans and drivers alike, will be looking forward to another exciting season of racing action at Central Wisconsin’s only half-mile paved oval.

“We’re expecting a large field of cars for the Spring Opener,” stated track GM and promoter Wayne Brevik.  Brevik further stated, “we’ve had many calls from drivers from the Fox Valley and throughout Wisconsin, that showed interest in attempting to knock off reigning champion, Steve Holzhausen.”  Some of the drivers looking to compete are 2012 track champion, Jim Sauter, Jr.  Sauter, Jr. will be looking to repeat as track champion at Marshfield.  Brett Piontek and Cory Kemkes are a few Fox Valley drivers looking to visit victory lane in the first leg of the Yellow River Racing Series. Elk Mound, WI driver and former track champion Ben Pettis, is looking to start off the season with a victory, and pocket a YRRS feature win.  Eugene Gregorich, Jr. is fast wherever he goes, and will be looking to notch another track championship at MMS.  Former Marshfield Motor Speedway driver and current road course ace, Brian Goodwin, will be piloting the Redline Speedsports #21 in 2013.  Other drivers that are looking to earn a Yellow River Racing Series feature win include, Dean LaPointe, Claire Decker, Ryan Hinner, Paige Decker, and many other Midwest hot shoes!

Joining the Super Late Models, will be the CWSSA Super Stocks, 4-Cylinders, Bandits, and the newly formed 6-Cylinder Rockets!  Pit gate opens up at 11 am, fan gate opens at 4pm, qualifying begins at 5pm, with the exciting racing action beginning at 6:40 pm. Admission is $15 for adults 15 and older.  Students 9 – 14 is $8, and children 8 and under are always free at Marshfield Motor Speedway.  Camping is available and always free at Marshfield Motor Speedway.  Children, don’t forget to visit our supervised playground!  Marshfield Motor Speedway also has a full-service bar, with the night’s live racing action viewable on our many close circuit TV’s!  Race fans, drivers, and crews, don’t forget to visit the Speedway Bar after the races for some friendly camaraderie, while watching a rebroadcast of the night’s racing action.

Marshfield, WI, March 23, 2013 – With Spring, brings the melting of snow, blooming trees and flowers, and RACE SEASON!  Marshfield Motor Speedway has announced its 2013 race schedule and is happy to announce that it will have the TUNDRA Series apart of our schedule.  The TUNDRA Series will be a 6-8 race series for the Super Late Models and should draw in excess of 40 super late models!  Marshfield Motor Speedway is currently trying to nail down a second TUNDRA Series race for the 2013 race season.  More information on the TUNDRA Series will be released next week!  The ARCA Midwest Tour has two scheduled events at Marshfield this year, June 30th & August 29th!  The ARCA Midwest Tour provides much excitement with their Stars & Cars!  The Tour draws drivers and fans from many of the Midwestern States and will provide edge of the seat excitement for the fans!  With these specials, and many other extended-lap features throughout the season, Marshfield Motor Speedway will surely be the place to be on scheduled Saturday night racing!

The Yellow River Racing Series will kick off the 2013 race season on May 11th!  To date, we have drivers from three states committed to racing the three-race season.  Again, look for Bangor’s Steve Holzhausen to compete and win race for back-to-back YRRS Championships.

Marshfield’s Tech Inspector Mike “Lumpy” Lemke will be present to cover new and current rules within each division.  Along with rules, Lumpy will be discussing the importance of safety measures and how they are an important part of each division’s rules package.  Also on the agenda to be discussed is ASA’s important insurance programs, along with 2013′s race schedule.
