The Apple App Store is home to thousands of wonderfully useful and creative programs that enhance and enrich the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world for as little as 99 cents American. But what if you are blind or low vision and in order to obtain an accessible version of the program, you must pay more than the standard cost?

Recently, a company called Essency, released a dazzlingly innovative and useful utility called Awareness, The Headphones App, that in effect allows you to listen to music and the outside world at the same time.

Currently, those using VoiceOver, Apple's software screen reading solution for the blind and low vision, must pay an additional cost in order to purchase the VoiceOver accessible user interface for the program.

Join Mark, on the Secret Life of Mark Marcus on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 7:00pm (PST) when he will be interviewing the president of Essency, Mr. Alex Georgiou who has graciously agreed to accept questions from callers.

To listen to or participate in the live show call (724) 898-1193 (during show time only).

So you are happy, healthy, and fun; well, maybe not so much fun. (Just kidding) You are a really good person and what you seek is another really good person to be really good with. The truth is, it is not so easy to do but if you make an effort you can find that someone seeking someone just like you.

Your friends tell you to go online; after all, that is where everyone is these days, right?

Oh, but there is one more thing, you are blind or low vision. And you think to yourself, "What sighted person would want to get to know me?"

A fair question to be sure and that is why I am inviting you to join me, along with a special guest, on the Secret Life of Mark Marcus talk show where you will find not only the answer to that question but also discover how to successfully seek someone who, sighted or not, is seeking someone just like you.

Join Mark on Saturday, June 26 at 10am (PDT). To participate in the live show simply call (724) 898-1193.

For show information including past episodes, go to Candleshore.com and click on the Secrets link.

From the moment you get up in the morning until the minute you lie down at night, you can feel it. You walk into a room, and you can almost taste it. Try to protest, and you will regret it. Somehow, they always make you feel the same, like you have just gone from the big house to the doghouse. Guilt! Are you guilty as charged? Guilt. One of the most misunderstood and easily resolved emotions of all time. Did you shoot the sheriff? Or did they just want you to think you shot the sheriff.
