Eric & Ashley: Married!

I’m so in love with all of the details from this wedding! I LOVE that all of the flowers were homemade and I am seriously in love with the bridesmaids dresses! I’m actually pretty jealous that Andrew and I were not the ones to photograph this great couple’s wedding. We were however able to photograph their engagement session a couple of months ago.

Ashley and Eric were kind enough to allow 3 people from Marc Photography document their wedding day. Zach, our amazing associate along with his assistant (and wife) Analisa were there, as well as our new associate photographer Stephanie. I’m ecstatic with the photos from their wedding day – it definitely helps to get get looking photographs when everything is so unique and the people are beautiful!

I did notice as I was preparing the preview a very familiar face in the bridal party – the groom from the very first wedding that Andrew and I ever photographed! Gabe, one of the groomsmen and his wife Merle took a big leap of faith booking us for their wedding a few years ago. They really jump started our career with their great wedding!

Keith, Lucas, & Andrew!

So, I got in trouble by our studio manager (who is also my sister-in-law). Apparently she is holding me to my word when I said I’d keep up with blog posts. Unfortunately, I can no longer call these previews… as the galleries have been completed for weeks. But they deserve a spot up on the blog none the less! I do have quite the list built up of photos that need to make an appearance on our blog too! Hopefully I’ll get them done soon.

First up we have Keith. It rained everytime we scheduled his senior session! Poor guy! Senior boys usually dread their senior photo day, and he had to have it a couple of times. Luckily Andrew was finally able to get the photos and I think they turned out great! Love the train tracks!

Andrew and I photographed Lucas’ older brother, Jacob’s senior pictures a couple of years ago. We always enjoy working with this family! Lucas’ pictures were in some of the same locations as his older brother’s and I just think that’s a great idea!

Andrew is a senior from Hamilton. I just love the series of photos that they took of him with his swimming gear and water drops. It turned out great!

Rachel & Alan: Married!

I met with Rachel’s mom Chris a couple of times leading up to Rachel and Alan’s wedding. It’s great how involved she was with planning their wedding! She’s one of those people that you could sit and chat with for awhile! And actually, if I remember correctly, she is cousin’s with my mom-in-law.

I think it was about 2 weeks before the wedding, Chris stopped into the studio with some unfortunate information about the bridesmaids dresses. Apparently, last minute the original seamstress was unable to finish the dresses. Rachel was left with unfinished bridesmaids dresses, how stressful! Luckily, they were put into contact with a great seamstress (who is located right across the street from our studio!) And the dresses turned out beautiful!

On the wedding day, Adam, our associate, met the group at the bridge in Zeeland for photos. The ceremony was held at First Baptist Church in Zeeland (my brother-in-law attends this church) and then the reception was located at Royal Park Place in Zeeland (my mom-in-law works there). Zeeland is a great little town for weddings! I, of course, love Zeeland.

Phillip & Kendra: Married!

I have strict rules from my doctor not to photograph anymore weddings this year and to also stop doing my part-time dental assistant job. So I wasn’t able to go with Andrew to Kendra and Phillip’s wedding. Huge bummer! Andrew and I have never not done a wedding together, and I really felt left out sitting at home while he was photographing their wedding. Zach was thankfully able to help Andrew and be the 2nd photographer. Luckily, their wedding was the last one that Andrew and I scheduled for ourselves this wedding season… knowing that our little one is due to arrive at the beginning on October, I knew I wouldn’t be able to photograph many weddings in September.

As I opened up the catalog to edit the preview photos, the first few photos I saw were a line up of cars and big trucks. Awesome! I knew that Andrew probably had fun photographing them. Then as I moved through the photos, towards the end, what do I see? Why it’s a camero doing a burnout in the parking lot of the wedding reception! Now, as I type this post I’m asking Andrew for the details… and I find out that the driver in the photograph doing the burn out is not the groom. (You would assume that, right?) It’s the bride! Even more awesome!

I’m sure I sound like a broken record when I write on here that purple is my favorite color to photograph. It really is just so vibrant and deep. When Andrew and I first stated photographing weddings a few years ago, green was the big color for wedding – I think that has moved a little towards purple now. Fine with me, it’s pretty! The purple of Kendra’s bridesmaids dresses is great with the texture on their dresses, I just love them!

Caleb, Blair, & Deono !

Senior season is in full swing! Andrew and I have been oh so busy with senior sessions – so you’ll be seeing quite a few high school seniors on here in the next couple of weeks!

First up we have Caleb, we did his older brother Ricky’s senior pictures a couple of years ago and were very excited when their mom Betsy called to schedule Caleb’s session. I wasn’t along for Caleb’s senior session – but I heard it was a good thing I wasn’t! His session involved jumping over a fence because the baseball field was locked – I don’t think I’d be able to do that 7 months pregnant! Actually, I probably couldn’t even do it not pregnant! HA

On July 22nd, our new little niece was born! Andrew’s brother Bryan and his wife Katy welcomed Blair Delaney. Blair is the 9th grandbaby to my mom and dad inlaw. Grandbabies #10 and #11 are due in October – Oh, and all the grandbabies are 4 and under! Christmas is chaotic to say the least. Blair was quite the sleepy head during her newborn session with us. Who could ask for more?! It was probably the quickest newborn session that Andrew and I have ever done… and it probably would have been even faster if there weren’t a 2.5 year old and 1.5 year old running around the studio!

Last up for the post today we have Deono – another high school senior! Andrew met Deono and his family at their house for some photos, then they headed to downtown Holland. Deono’s mom is the wedding manager at the Doubletree hotel in Holland. We have done a few weddings there and have had the pleasure of working with her a few times. Just after Deono’s session Andrew rushed home and we were off on a 10.5 hour drive to Missouri. I’m happy that we were able to get this session scheduled though!

Allison & Jeremy: Married!

Allison and Jeremy were married in a backyard ceremony. Zach and Analisa were there to capture their wedding.

I just love all of the nature elements incorporated into their wedding decor! Their cake is sooo cute!! I love it! Their reception was held at The Piper in Holland. We’ve had quite a few weddings there this wedding season. It’s nice having the lake right out the back door – it makes for great picture opportunities.

Christy & Matt : Married!

Matt and Christy said “I do” on July 23rd in Holland. It was predicted to be one of the hotest days in the “heat wave of 2011″ but it actually wasn’t as bad as some of our past weddings. THANKFULLY!

Although Andrew and I do really like to go to multiple locations for photos (which we still did with Christy and Matt) their ceremony location was a prime example that churches usually make beautiful backgrounds. There were a couple of spots that worked great for photos – I’m really excited with how those turned out!!

We were also able to work with Evermore Entertainment again. Matt always does a great job!

Laura & Devin : Married!

Adam and Zach were the photographers for Laura and Devon’s wedding. I met with Laura’s mom and Devin at the initial consultation and didn’t get the chance to meet Laura until just before her wedding. Devin seemed to be pretty on top of things when we met – I love it when the groom has a part in the planning process.

I just love Laura’s vintage wedding dress. I don’t think I ever talk about the groom’s attire at weddings, I mean, how much can you say about a tux right? But I love it when those in the armed forces where their uniforms.

Katie & Tony : Married!

When I first met with Katie and Tony for our initial consultation I just knew that their wedding was going to be great. Katie had every detailed worked out for her wedding – and it really showed! The photos of her wedding dress really make a statement with her custom hanger. I just love it – I wish I could have had one for my wedding! Plus it’s every photographer’s wish to have a better hanger than the plastic one supplied by the bridal store. The purple that the couple chose for their wedding is honestly my favorite color to photograph, this mixed with the amazing flowers and linens at the reception really made it to die for!!

The location for both the ceremony and reception was Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. And although it was super hot that day, with small breaks inside to cool off we were able to get some great shots outside. I’m seriously in love with their photos and can’t wait to edit the rest!!

Congrats Katie and Tony! We wish you the best!!

Recent Photo Sessions

So, I realized that this blog has turned into a preview for only weddings! Andrew and I have been so busy lately that it’s so hard to keep up with doing blog previews from recent photo sessions. (This is on my list of things to do from now on!! We’ll see how good we are at keeping up with photo sessions!)

Up first is the Brouwer Family. The day we did these photos was Hudson’s 2nd birthday. She was so adorable in the dress that her momma made for her… and everytime that you told her “Happy Birthday” she’d say it right back to you! Big brother Brayden did a such a great job too.

Next we have little Cohen. This little guy is such a cutie! He is probably one of the best newborns that we’ve ever photographed – I think he slept the whole time! Looking at these newborn photos definitely makes me ready to have baby Kraker #2. October can’t come soon enough!

And last for the post today we have the Buttimer family. These guys braved the 95 degree weather we had during the “2011 heatwave”. They were troopers! It was probably the fastest outdoor family session we’ve ever done since it was so hot outside. We were able to get a lot of shots though – Can you tell it was that hot?!
