Sequential is an image viewer for Mac OS X. It was originally designed for opening a folder of images and displaying them in order. It works well for viewing comics and manga.

Sequential can display folders and archives (ZIP, RAR, CBZ and CBR) of images (including JPEG, PNG, and GIF) and PDF files. It is able to load images on the internet from a page or image URL.

Sequential has mature full screen support and can display images' Exif data.

Sizerox:

PAWriter also provides flexible selection of subsets of people in a file by "tagging" them (marking them as members of the subset) using a host of selection criteria. Selections include inclusion (+), exclusion (-) and intersection (*) of the set of people meeting the criteria with those already tagged.

Consider PAWriter to be a possible next step in the development of Macintosh PAF had its develpment not been discontinued after release 2.3.1, i.e., "what might have been." PAWriter is not meant to have the bells and whistles that are in the current crop of genealogical programs. The emphasis is on maintaining a genealogical database from which the user can write books and/or post web pages about a family.

Importantly, the use of PAWriter differs from other programs in that each statement given in a person's vital statistics should be based on the evidence given or referenced in the notes for that person and/or for his or her relatives, and should represent the researcher's best current conclusions as to the true facts. For this purpose, the notes should contain all of the evidence, substantiation, documentation, background information, clarification, interpretation and/or other relevant commentary. It is in these notes that source citations are referenced through footnotes inserted at the appropriate points in the notes' text, as is normally done in books. (The footnotes will be included at the end of the printed notes in the generated reports.)

This is the first version of PAWriter that is a universal binary compilation, and its file name is changed to PAW2U. It reads and writes the same data files used by PAW2 and PAW2X. Much internal re-coding was necessarily accomplished in this move to the universal binary version. Universal binaries run on both PowerPC Macs and Intel Macs without Rosetta.

This universal binary version should run well on G3s, G4s, G5s and Intel Macs under MacOS 10.3.x (Panther), 10.4.x (Tiger), 10.5.x (Leopard), 10.6.x (Snow Leopard without Rosetta) and future versions of the MacOS. (I’ve alpha tested it on Intel iMacs running Leopard and on a G4 eMac running Panther.) I believe this version of PAWriter runs significantly faster than previous versions on any of the above-named platforms.

Remove or archive any version of PAW2X and its Reference folder. PAW2 (the OS 9 version) and PAW2X the (previous OS X version) are deprecated, and will no longer be updated.

In this disk image, please read the Read Me First file in your browser. Then drag the PAW2U file over the Applications folder alias to install it in the Applications folder. Eject the disk image. Then you may also drag PAW2U from the Applications folder to the Dock to install it in the dock.

Changes from the previous version:

• The About PAWriter Help and the PAWriter Reference Guide menu items were moved to a new Help menu.
• The Reference Guide is now part of the PAW2U file (it’s "bundled"). You can click on the Reference button in the main window or choose PAWriter Reference Guide from the Help menu or press command-' in major windows to launch the Reference Guide in Safari. The Reference Guide now displays with two panes in the browser window: a table of contents in the left pane and the selected entry in the right pane. • You can now control-click (right-click with most mice) anywhere in notes and the Edit menu will pop up, with all of its relevant menu items available for selection.
• Possible problems in notes and any linkage problems are now completely listed in new scrolling windows.
• Notes in family group sheets for parents are not duplicated in multiple marriages.
• "Faster open and save dialogs" and their preference item were removed.
• A few obscure errors that had gone undetected prior to this version were corrected.
• Since there have been numerous complaints about the previous default background color of turquoise, the default has been changed to the more neutral crayon color named Silver (a light gray). A suggested compatible highlight color option in the system preference Appearance panel is Graphite. But feel free to change the background color in PAWriter preferences and/or the highlight color in system preferences to whatever is pleasing to you.

Until Celtx, script writers were subjected to bloated and bug ridden software and the pre-production team had been ignored altogether. miniclone... Mac OS X's installation media includes a number of very useful tools for resetting passwords, diagnosing hardware issues, cloning drives, copying data, checking and repairing filesystems, managing disks, and even conducting forensics if you're so inclined. However, there are a number of situations in which these tools just don't work, notably when a whole-disk encryption (WDE) product is used to protect mobile data, such as on laptop systems. In this case in particular, a secondary bootable system drive is required with support for the underlying sector-level encryption. In general, though, it's really handy to be able to turn a USB drive into a bootable volume that'll boot up any Mac and be useful for fixing a wide range of issues.

miniclone is a script for creating a bootable clone of the currently running system on any target media, including thumb drives, flash drive, or other internal or external bootable media. Naturally, this is most useful with a keychain thumbdrive.

Known Issues

• miniclone is written in csh ... yes, that's right, csh ... get over it
• the first boot of a miniclone is pretty slow, especially on flash
• will currently only use the booted root volume as the source
• requires the use of the SetFile tool from the Developer Tools

CogTool... Designers want to know how users will interact with their systems, but they often do not have the time or resources to test their designs with actual users. This is especially true for systems intended for trained users. It can be expensive to train users with a prototype, but unskilled users do not interact with a product in the same way as a skilled user. Cognitive performance modeling aims to solve this problem by predicting how a skilled user will interact with a system. Simulation and analysis take the place of expensive training and testing.

Predictive human performance modeling has one of the longest research histories in Human-Computer Interaction. Starting with Card, Moran, and Newell in the 1980s, the prediction of skilled performance time has enjoyed a constant stream of validation and expansion into many areas of user interaction with computers. Over one hundred research papers have been published about GOMS and the Keystroke-Level Model (KLM). Given its validity and predictive value, it is surprising that modeling has not become widespread as a tool for design in the user experience community. Our belief is that the cost of learning and constructing correct models, even ones as simple as the KLM, is perceived to be too high to justify the benefits of estimating skilled performance times.

We don't believe that this has to be true. With the support of tools, the time and training costs of performance modeling can be greatly reduced, and the accuracy of resulting models can be increased. Our project has produced a software application that takes the first steps toward these goals. We have already achieved great reductions in the time to produce new KLM-GOMS models. We have also shown an improvement in the accuracy of predictions compared to previously published examples of KLM.

Detailed information is provided in the CogTool User Guide. We highly recommend that you read this guide to get the most out of the CogTool system.

To help you get started quickly with CogTool, we have also provided a Tutorial. This document walks you through an example in detail, but it is not as comprehensive as the CogTool User Guide and it refers to the CogTool User Guide, so you need both.

In order to save RAW data with extended dynamic range (HDR - High Dynamic Range), the 48bit TIFF format and the CAMERA RAW format was developed. Even scanners or cameras with only 30 or 36 bit capability generate their maximum output range in this format. Regardless of the effective dynamic range supplied, the file will always become a 48 bit file. Normal scanning software saves images into a 24 bit file, discarding the extra information created by the scanner. 48 bit files retain all of the information supplied.

SilverFast HDR Software enables the user to read and process 48 bit RAW files without being connected to a scanner. In HDR, all SilverFast tools are available: Defining Output Size & Resolution, Auto-Adjust of Highlight/Shadow, Three Part Histogram, Gradation Curves, Selective Color Correction, Unsharp Masking, Color Cast Removal Slider, Color Separation, CMYK-Preview and more.

• HDR and DC versions: HDR and DC versions now contain a special auto sharpness table such that HDR images scanned with Epson scanners will be processed like in the Epson-Ai version.
• HDR and DC versions: When opening an HDR file scanned with SilverFast, then the corresponding (scanner specific) set of NegaFix profiles is chosen automatically in NegaFix mode.

Predictable color from the SilverFast Ai preview gives imaging and color reproduction a new dimension securing the correct workflow with the ScanPilot. The professional user can adjust any operation via numerical input and can precisely monitor the results using the integrated densitometer. SilverFast Ai enables any level of user to achieve brilliant results quickly !

SilverFast comes in three different flavors: as Stand-Alone Software with the SilverFast Launcher; as native Adobe Photoshop Plug-in or as universal TWAIN Module.

SilverFast 6 also has the Job Manager, a productivity function, so far only available as an option!

SilverFast Ai and SilverFast HDR are working in full 16 (48) bit mode and besides delivering uncorrected output into 48 bit HDR-format, also allows full 48 bit color-corrected output. Thus enabling the optimum throughput while securing maximum dynamic range!

SilverFast Ai Studio includes all of the well-known functions of Silverfast AI plus a many new, innovative tools. SilverFast Ai users can download the new SilverFast Ai Studio features as an upgrade for a reasonable price.
