We all need the proper good balance of vitamins, minerals, nutrients and protein too.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Aerobic exercise is important for the cardiovascular system. It’s defined by repetitive motion such as running, swimming or cycling. It can also tone muscles. Incorporating a little of both aerobic and resistance training is best for your daily routine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Set small, specific goals you can stick to (like losing 5 percent of body weight or exercising three times a week, etc.) Drink green tea (which helps promote weight loss). Snack on fresh fruits and vegetables during your day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Simple way for getting fit&lt;/b&gt; – you don’t need to join a gym. Start walking more you’ll get fit faster. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keep hydrated by consuming at least two liters of water each day. It is even more important to drink water before, during and after exercise. Even low-intensity exercise requires you to be well-hydrated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rest between workouts and allow your body time to recover.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You should know that as you start to get more and more active, it is going to be very important that you have a good meal and a good diet to fall back on. As you start to want to be healthier, your diet is really the first thing that you should change about yourself. Healthy proteins include fish, chicken, soybeans and lentils.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Your metabolism doesn’t slow with age.&lt;/b&gt; It’s just that as people get older they do less strength-training and can lose lean muscle mass. The more lean muscle tissue you have, the higher your metabolism – and the faster you’ll lose weight. Keep your exercise and activity levels up each year, and you’ll simultaneously maintain your muscle tone, keep your metabolism up and maximize healthy weight loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Therefore, the first thing that you need to focus on is eating a good diet – this diet shouldn’t cut back on your unhealthy eating habits completely, junk foods aren’t going to have the proper nutrients for what you need as you are doing aerobics. Red blood cells and hair is also made from protein. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Along with proteins, a body also needs adequate amounts of fats and carbohydrates in order for us to have enough energy during the day. Fats are primarily used for energy during intense activity, like exercising, while carbohydrates are primarily used for energy during less intense activities, like standing, sitting, and other movements. Both the fats and the carbohydrates that we eat in a day can be stored for later use as fat, so it is important to eat enough for energy, but also important to regulate intake in order to stay slim and healthy. In the event that you are not eating enough fats and carbohydrates, your body can also provide itself with fuel from proteins.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Vitamins and minerals are also important nutrients for our daily lives. We get these from fruits, vegetables, milk, and most natural sources of food. Some of our foods, such as bread products, can even be enriched so that we get more vitamins and minerals in our bodies. Heart disease develops when you heart has to work extra hard to pump the blood to the body, which causes it to become fatigued. If a piece of this plaque breaks off and travels to the heart, it causes a heart attack, and traveling to the brain causes a stroke.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Being overweight is also bad for women who wish to become pregnant. When you’re overweight, the hormones in your body are changing, and if you don’t get the right nutrients you may find that your body does not produce the right chemicals for the hormones needed to ovulate or carry a child. Even if you become pregnant, being overweight puts you at risk for a miscarriage or health problems with the baby.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Beyond the health world, being overweight can also affect your daily life. You may find it difficult to purchase clothing in your size or you may find that the clothing that does come in larger sizes is more expensive. This is simply due to the manufacturer need more material to make the same article of clothing. Problems extend beyond shopping when doing things like visiting theme parks, where you may not be able to ride all of the rides, or using public transportation, where you may feel crowded in seats made for smaller people. For good nutrition, the recommendation is to follow the basics: "eat a healthy diet by choosing a variety of fruits and vegetables. Avoid fats, added sugars, and salt. Eat in moderation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eating right makes you feel good, and it's important for reducing your risk for diseases like &lt;b&gt;heart disease&lt;/b&gt;, &lt;b&gt;certain cancers&lt;/b&gt;, &lt;b&gt;diabetes&lt;/b&gt;, &lt;b&gt;stroke&lt;/b&gt; and &lt;b&gt;osteoporosis&lt;/b&gt;. Healthy Foods" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Health Tips" /><title type="text">Fat - Friendly Lifestyle Tips</title><content type="html">Okay, so you realize you need to avoid saturated fat and trans fat. &lt;b&gt; &lt;/b&gt; But, how do you get the healthy monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and Omega-3 fats everyone keeps talking about?&lt;b&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Healthy fats are essential to good health.&lt;b&gt; &lt;/b&gt;The human body uses fatty acids to do everything from building cell membranes to performing key functions in the brain, eyes, lungs, cells, heart, nerves, digestion, organs &amp;amp; your immune system.&lt;b&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;What's better: butter or margarine? &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Both have good and bad points. With margarine, choose the soft-tub versions, and make sure the product has zero grams trans fats and no partially hydrogenated oils. Regardless of whether you choose butter or margarine, use it in moderation and try to avoid or limit it to other foods. &lt;b&gt;Olive oil is a healthier substitute.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Dress your own salad.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use olive oil, flaxseed oil or sesame oil and your favorite herbs.&lt;b&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Choose low-fat milk and lower-fat cheeses like mozzarella whenever possible; enjoy full-fat dairy in moderation. Go for lean cuts of meat, and stick to white meat, which has less saturated fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Monounsaturated fats&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Primary sources are plant oils like canola oil, peanut oil and olive oil. Other good sources are avocados; nuts such as almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans; and seeds such as pumpkin and sesame seeds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Polyunsaturated fats&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Primary sources are sunflower, corn, soybean, and flaxseed oils and also foods such as walnuts, flax seeds, and fish. This fat family includes the Omega-3 group of fatty acids which your body can't make and are found in very few foods. We should all be increasing our intake of healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, which we need for body functions like controlling blood clotting and building cell membranes in the brain. Research has shown this fatty acid can have an impact on cardiovascular disease, liver cancer, depression &amp;amp; dementia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you are concerned about your weight or heart health, rather than avoiding fat in your diet, try replacing all the bad fats with good fats. This might mean replacing some of the meat you eat with beans and legumes, and using vegetable oils rather than tropical oils, which tend to contain more saturated fats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Recommended calcium levels are 1000 mg per day, 1200 mg if you are 50 years old. Take a vitamin D and &lt;a href="http://tinyurl.com/y8oaht7"&gt;calcium supplement&lt;/a&gt; if you don't get enough of these nutrients from your diet. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keep total fat intake to 20-35% of calories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Limit cholesterol to 300 mg per day. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Limit sodium to 2,300 mg per day - equivalent to one teaspoon of salt. &lt;b style="color: red;"&gt;Lower limit of 1,500mg recommended now or less&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt; per day&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b style="color: red;"&gt;. &lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: black;"&gt;To much salt can cause high blood pressure.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enjoy sweets as an occasional treat, but keep sugary soft drinks to a minimum.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Limit trans fats to 1% of calories (2 grams per day for a 2000 cal diet)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Limit saturated fats to less than 10% of your calories (200 calories for a 2000 calorie diet)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How much fat is too much depends on your lifestyle, your weight, your age and most importantly the state of your health.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, if you are concerned about cardiovascular disease, the American Heart Association suggests a similar plan, but limiting saturated fats to less than 7% of your calories (140 calories for a 2000 calorie diet).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have or are at risk for Cardiovascular Disease or Diabetes. Do not change your diet without consulting your physician!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Avoid: Salted or sugary nuts; refried beans.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Choose:&lt;/b&gt; Black beans, navy beans, garbanzos, and lentils and other beans. Nuts like almonds, walnuts and pecans.
