Football on Sky3D, Interesting experience but…

Yesterday, BSkyB official started football live coverage broadcasting on 3D.
They picked Manchester United verse Chelsea as the 3D launching match and I watched.

I don’t want posting about yesterday nightmare as a Manchester United fan. It's explained by just one word, Disgraceful.
This posting talks (?) about 3D TV.
Okay… I want to show a BSkyB advert.
This advert is not made for 3D TV promotion but I believe this advert could demonstrate my impression of 3D TV.

I feel the main purpose of 3D technology is audiences feel actual distance and volume of objects.
I feel Sky Sports 3D coverage tried emphasise this feeling. Especially, when they use computer graphic.
As this point of view, Sky Sports 3D coverage is slightly disappointed for me.
Usually, football coverage shows bird-eye view from top centre of stadium.
However, I could not feel volumes of objects on this point of view.
It was just High Definition (HD) Quality video coverage as my impression.

Moreover, 3D coverage does not show various scenes as general football coverage.
In other words, Sky Sports HD(SD) coverage and Sky Sports 3D use different video sources and commentary teams.
I felt it is caused by BSkyB doesn’t have enough 3D cameras as HD cameras so they broadcasted quite limited scenes.

Meanwhile, my favourite scene of that 3D coverage was when Sir Alex Ferguson (Manager of MAN UTD) sat on the bench.
Sir Alex appearance was contrasted other supporters appearances.

‘close up’ is the best angle for demonstrating 3D coverage.
Easily audience recognise the volume and distance of objects on that point of view.
Yes, It’s quite exciting moment when I watching 3D coverage.

Finally, I am not sure this coverage cause dizzy, tired & headaches.
When I wore 3D glasses, I did not have any problem for watching other objects.
But when I watch 3D coverage without 3D glasses it makes me quite dizzy.

As my point of view 3D coverage still has various barriers for its spreading.
Cost of TV, Production facilities and some angle does not represent 3D impact well.
I believe 3D broadcasters need to develop 3D broadcasting technical skills for wide shot.
As I said, I didn’t feel any difference between 3D and 2D coverage of this angle.

Next 3D match is Blackburn v Manchester United and I might watch it on 3D again.
Well… Because I am still interest in this development.

Beijing Olympics…

Their gold medal was miracle…

Anyone did not expect they get gold but they did.

World Baseball Classic…

Korea was out at semi-final in ‘06 WBC…

After 4 years, today, ‘09 WBC

Preparing period was seriously challengeable time for Korean Baseball team.

Anyone did not want to be manager (It might be the effect from Olympics)

In addition, It was hard to make squad because some of important players, who are in overseas league, did not enter the team (by their own decision and problems).

Just one Japan Pro League player and Just one Major League (US) player… That’s all… Other players are in Korean Pro League players.

Therefore, It was expected Korean Baseball team is out at Second rounds.

(WBC – 1st round –> 2nd round –> Finals)

However, today…

They standed the pitch, the grand final of WBC ‘09 and faced Japan, rival of rival for long long time.

The result was….

Japan 5 Korea 3

Yes, we lose the match.

However, Korea baseball team did as they can.

Especially, at 9th Bottom…

When Everyone expected ‘Yes, it’s the end’.

They made a point so the result was draw.

Even they lose, I celebrate they hardest journey.

They beaten Taipei China (Taiwan), China, Mexico, Venezuela and Japan (two times).

It could be impossible journey for them.

Well done, after 4 years, I believe Korea could be the top of world baseball teams.

(P.S.) I wish Double Elimination rule should be dropped from next WBC. How many Korea and Japan matches were in ‘09 WBC. It’s five times (1R 2, 2R 2 and final 1). Is it reasonable schedule?

Radio star can't wait to hit county's airwaves (From Oxford Mail)

This Oxford Mail article introduced a new presenter, who will present his radio show on Heart Oxfordshire.

As you might know, Fox FM is replacing to Heart Oxfordshire. From 23rd March, FOX FM will be remained to Oxfordshire people’s memories.

The reason of Heart Oxfordshire launching is GCap, formal owner of Fox FM, Xfm, Capital Radio (London), Classic FM and Etc., was merged with Global Radio, which is owner of Heart. After merger, Global Radio decided that One network, which were local radio stations brand of GCap (Included Fox FM), replace to Heart Network. So, we will hear Heart Oxfordshire on FM 102.6 and 97.4.

When I read Oxford Mail’s reader comments. I feel lots of people worry about they might lose one of local radio station. I am not sure how Heart Oxfordshire manage the time slots between local production and London HQ production.

I know some of my mates dislike Fox FM because music choice, present style, news value and Etc…

By the way, do you expect Heart solves these problems?

By the Way, other Oxfordshire commercial radio station, 106 Jack FM and Oxford’s FM 1079 are owned by Absolute Radio, which was Virgin Radio. However, I think these station are not effected from Absolute Radio and concentrate to local audience. Do you think Heart need to be localised as other local commercial stations or to broadcast as nationalised station ? (Which mean Heart Oxon broadcasts more Heart London programmes)

By the way, I just wait new ear of Oxfordshire commercial radio.

(P.S.) When Oxfordshire local radio launch DAB? FM signal of my house is too poor. Especially, I cannot listen Oxford’s FM 1079 because it has too noisy signal. However, I do not have any problem when I listen DAB station. I am looking forward to hear Oxford local stations on DAB.

Unexpected luck…
As this Video.

Yes, Snow in Desert… It is one of unexpected luck.
I might have a same kind of unexpected luck.
It didn’t happen.

I should do Work Placement for attending Honours module.
Last summer, I didn’t find it so I have been looking for work placement, which is able to on this winter.

Last November, I applied to one large organisation, which is located on London by the internet.
My application… It is so rubbish.

Anyway… After a month…
When I challenged lots (??) of assignments,
I heard one of Oxford local organisations provides work placement.
Also,I applied it again and had got meeting on last Tuesday.

Last Monday, I have an voice mail on my mobile phone.
That message was came from London organisation, which I applied on last month.
She, who called to me, asked to call back for discussing my work placement application.

It was surprised from this message, I did not expect they contact me.

However from Tuesday…

I had meeting with the administer of Oxford organisation.
When the administer asked “Could you tell me about you?”

Yes, it is very very very basic question.
However, I found my answer was so dump.
Repeat, Repeat and Repeat.
I did not give ant impression comments to the administer.

In addition, when he asked “What kinds of work placement I want to do?”…
Oh my god… How do I answered it?
Yes… Dummy, Dummy and Dummy.

I just expected to do what they ask.
However, I never expected I might say what I want to do for work placement.

Yes, it the alarm alert of disaster.

In addition, I said I have got contact from London organisation. (Suicide…)

I tried to promote me as possible and the administer said just now they did not have place so they will contact me on March. I hope to get contact to them again.

Ok… It was last Tuesday nightmare.
However, Last Wednesday…
Finally, I’ve got call from London organisation.

Also, the caller asked same question as the day before.
“What do you want to do?”…
Also, I answered as a dummy.

The phone was not longer than I expected.
I did to introduce me and answered what this organisation provides which kinds of work placement.
It was nice for me but they might do not feel my interesting.

The caller said if they are accept me, I might received the call on today.

I wait… However, the phone hasn’t rang.

Shame….

Yes, the unexpected luck…
It did not happen for me.

Yes, It was my night culture.

When I went to Korean College, I should go to Hue-Sik every day. (Hey.. When I went to college, I was over 20!)

“Drink Soju as water”

This sentence might be describe my drinking behaviour.

By the Way, do you know what is Soju?

Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary describe it as…

Korean vodka distilled from rice

A blogger describes it is the best-selling booze in the world. Yes, if you are in Korea, you will drink wine and vodka very rarely. Instead of, you will see this lovely green bottles (Colour of Soju bottle) every where.

My favourite Soju is Cham-Isel, which is contain 20.1% of alcohol.

Recently, some new Soju brands have been introduced and most of them contains less alcohol than Cham-Isel. I have an opportunity to drink one of these brand. It was my react.

“ What’s it? Is it water? ”

However, I might not drink this Soju, Jinro Gold, which contains 25% alcohol.

If I drink this bottle, I might feel my throat and tongue is burned.

By the Way, I used to drink one to two bottles of Soju everyday. Sometimes, I drunk until cannot recognise every thing. (Yes, typical symptom of Binge Drinking) Also, I suffered hang over every morning (?).

However, I cannot drink as when I was young. Also, when I met my friend in Korea, they drunk small amount of alcohol. Hu… Yes, It means I am older and older now.

Recently, I have seen lots of party photos on facebook. When I was young, Club was not my favourite space because I do not have enough money for entertain there. Yes, I never have been clubs in Korea.

Usually, I drink beer at some restaurants or pubs, we called HOF. You might think I drunk as luxury restaurants but there is not luxury and I cannot find adapt words where explain where I drink. The similar words is pubs but there is different pubs.

Anyway, I envy them, who post their amuse photos in clubs on facebook or other sites. Ah… Feel so alone.
