Carlos Romero’s CalArts graduation film, titled Cylinder Six, focuses on an evil spirit who transforms after he incites a painful experience for a young, scooter-driving girl. The design and tradition-animation in this piece are all beyond graduation-worthy.

On the heels of A Town Called Panic, the 2009 stop-motion film you simply must watch, Stéphane Aubier and Vincent Patar have adapted, along with Benjamin Renner, Gabrielle Vincent’s book series, Ernest and Celestine. The 80 minute, 2D feature will soon screen at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, and the producers have uploaded a number of French-language clips from the film for your previewing pleasure. You’ll see beautiful water-color world inhabited by bears, mice and lots and lots of candy.
