The latest Gobelins-sourced short that opened the 2013 Annecy festival puts you in the center of a wheel-shaped town that makes everyday activities like taking a bath very interesting. Marlène Beaube, Marion Bulot , Thibaud Gayral, Guitty Mojabi and Raphaëlle Stolz, all students at Gobelins, directed the 30 second piece titled See Saw. (NSFW – tasteful nudity)

Echegaray Brings Feeling to Animated Belöp Music Video

Spanish-animator Raúl García Echegaray recently directed a new music video a Synthpop band called Belöp. Echegaray, along with artist David GJ, created an economic production design that makes great use of transparency and overlaping color. For the 2013 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, students at the French school Gobelins produced this opening film. The 30 second piece was directed by Camille André, Janis Aussel, Clément Doranlo, Maud Girard and Jong-Hyun Jung-Boix. They’ve selected a mermaid as the focus of this aquatic introduction to the event, which began yesterday in Paris.

The Psyop team, lead by creative directors Anh Vu and Laurent Barthelemy recently guided this new French spot for McDonald’s McFlurry snack. WIZZdesign handled physical production on this elaborate production that walks us through a bear-infested forest, a royal castle party, an alien space ship and finally a pirate ship party all in 30 breathless seconds.
