The nominations for the 12th Annual BET Awards were announced yesterday at a press conference in New York City. This year’s BET Awards will be hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and take place in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on July 1st.

Lil Wayne and Drake received 4 nominations each even though they are all in the same categories: “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist”, “Best Collaboration” for “I’m On One” and “The Motto“, and “Viewers’ Choice Award” for “The Motto“. Tyga was also nominated twice for his featured verse on “The Motto” and Nicki Minaj received one nomination for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist”.

It has been confirmed that Nicki will be performing at the awards show, but there is no word yet on if Weezy or anyone else from YMCMB will be performing.

Here is the official music video for Shanell‘s “So Good / 6AM” single featuring Lil Wayne and Drake. The song, which was produced by Cool & Dre, will appear on SnL‘s forthcoming debut album, due out at the end of this year. Cameos can be seen in this Director X visual from Birdman, Marley G, Mack Maine, DJ Scoob Doo and Denver Broncos running back Willis McGhee.

The reason Lil Wayne was absent from the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on May 20th was because he was at LIV Nightclub in Miami for “LIV on Sundays” celebrating Busta Rhymes‘ birthday.

Here is the official music video for Birdman‘s “Dark Shades” single featuring Lil Wayne and Mack Maine. The song, which was produced by Mr. Beatz, will appear on Baby‘s forthcoming Bigga Than Life album, due out in the summer. Colin Tilley directed the visual and YMCMB’s DJ Khaled, Lil Twist and Busta Rhymes make cameos.

Shanell will appear on BET’s 106 & Park tonight to premiere the official “So Good” music video. Even though the video has already been playing on MTV for a few days, there is no good rip of it online. Hopefully a HD version of the visual will be uploaded to the net tonight!

The names of the winners at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards are in and Lil Wayne has picked up a total of four awards! Billboard‘s awards show aired live on May 20th from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, but unfortunately no one from YMCMB was in attendance. Weezy won an award for “Top Male Artist”, “Top Rap Artist”, “Top Rap Album” with Tha Carter IV and “Top R&B Song” with “Motivation“. When Wayne found out about the awards he had won, he went on Twitter to tweet the following message thanking his fans, family, God and Billboard:

Wow!! I would most definitely like 2 thank God, my family,friends,& fans & the Billboard awards 4 appreciating hard work. I love u all. And I’m so sorry that I wasn’t there!!! Very sorry! But I am truly grateful for everything. And honest to God,tears dropped. Love u all

Here is the official music video for DJ Khaled‘s “Take It To The Head” single featuring Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj. The visual, which was shot in Los Angeles, was directed by Colin Tilley and the song will appear on Khaled‘s forthcoming Kiss The Ring album, due out in the summer. It looks like Game has grabbed Lil Wayne for his new single once again, which will be the first track we hear from Game‘s forthcoming album. The song is called “F.I.V.E.” (acronym for Fear Is Victory’s Evolution) and feature both Weezy and Chris Brown. Sap is behind the production of the record and you can read what he said about the single to XXL after the jump below. The main points from his interview is that “‘F.I.V.E.‘ is supposedly dropping on Memorial Day Weekend” and “Wayne killed it”.

“I actually produced this record for Game called ‘F.I.V.E.,’ featuring Chris Brown and Lil Wayne,” the Delaware based producer revealed to XXLMag.com. “That should be dropping anytime now. Supposedly it’ dropping Memorial Day Weekend, but I’m not sure.” The track is on pace to be the first new music released from Game’s upcoming album, which the California native announced to XXLMag.com would be called F.I.V.E.: Fear Is Victory’s Evolution back in March.

Sap thinks it’s a sound that should be familiar to fans. “It’s definitely got an East Coast style a little bit—it kind of reminds you of how that ‘Real’ joint is,” he continued, comparing the production on the upcoming single with a joint that he did on Meek Mill’s recent Dreamchasers 2 mixtape. “It’s not a South beat. It’s more of an up tempo beat, but it’s not a club record. It’s more of a traditional hip-hop beat, like a hard sample. It’s Game’s style but it’s still something you can hear Wayne on, too.”

The collaboration came about because of the young producer’s relationship with Cool & Dre. “I was just sending Cool & Dre music, and next thing you know they was like, ‘Keep sending beats, keep sending beats,’” Sap recalled. “They’re executive producing the F.I.V.E. album. And next thing you know, Cool called me and he was like, ‘Man, Game has this record called ‘F.I.V.E.’ It’s crazy. It got Chris Brown and Wayne on it, Wayne killed it.’ And then he was like, ‘It’s on your beat.’ And I was like, ‘Wow.’”

Last night, Lil Wayne was spotted court-side with Mack Maine watching the Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat game at the American Airlines Arena in Florida. You can view a couple more photos of Weezy at the NBA game after the jump below. If you don’t know how the game went, the Pacers beat the Heat by 78-75.

I posted some photos of Lil Wayne at LIV Nightclub in Miami on May 13th with Kevin Hart earlier today, now here is some footage of Weezy and Kevin shouting out Trina, who was also in attendance. Tune says he still loves and misses her: “I just want to say if Trina is in here… Hey Trina, I love you and I miss you baby”.

I’m sure you all already knew, but if not, Wayne and Trina used to be dating a few years back.
