AML Apartment is a minimalist house located in São Paulo, Brazil designed by David Ito Arquitectura. The primary objective was to create an open living space, generous for entertainment and seating. Light colors were used to complement the abundant amounts of natural light entering the space. The walls are covered in a striped, white vertical panels that conceal the doors and storage areas. The main bedroom features a wooden vanity with contrasting blue drawers.

Brut Collection is a minimalist series of furniture created by Munich-based designer Konstantin Grcic for Magis. Brutdraws inspiration from the industrial use of this alloy, which is mainly utilized as a structural material in bridge building and as a pedestal for heavy machinery, the plain, robust cast-iron structure is pleasingly combined with marble and the other materials used for the table tops, the wooden bench-seats and the fabrics chosen for the upholstery, creating a casually reassuring sense of hospitality. A surprising combination of almost contradictory materials and techniques.

The word brings to mind both something unprocessed, in the raw, and also the full, part-sour-part-fruity flavor of a renowned type of wine full of fine bubbles that tickle the palate. With its original, fresh, feisty style, it encapsulates a sense of function and aesthetics that speaks volumes about the era we are living in, and it is instantly likeable, leaving people with a clear memory both of it and of the place where they saw it. Conceived particularly for comfortable public spaces in which to rest, relax and socialize, the Brut collection includes tables of various shapes and sizes, including one with a height-adjustable trestle structure (some are also suitable for outdoor use), two benches, an armchair and two sofas made with a range of different fabrics and colors.

Velluters is a minimalist apartment renovation located in Valencia, Spain, designed by Mario Montesinos Marco. The apartment is located in the historic neighborhood of Velluters, in an early 20th century building in the hearth of Valencia. Its original distribution consisted of four small rooms, a bathroom in the middle area, and a small kitchen and a separated toilet after a dark corridor on the south side. According to the new living needs is projected a two bedrooms apartment with two bathrooms, demolishing the totality of the old partitions. The project starts with the visual connection of the diagonal axis, catching the light from the south, where is the kitchen. An open space which connects with the living area trough a previous space for laundry and storage. A step establishes the differentiation of spaces, remarked by the change of pavement, and makes possible the new situation of the toilets. Ash wood pavement for the living area and bedrooms that contrasts with the microcement for the humit areas. The original wooden windows carpentry has been restored, as the characteristic steel pillar reinforced with concrete. The apartment is so differentiated in two directions defined by its geometry and its function: living room-kitchen and living room-bedrooms.

The Locked Objects is minimalist series designed by Switzerland-based studio Thévoz – Choquet for NOV Gallery. The Locked Objects series is a personal reinterpretation of a universal archetype’s function: the bike padlock. Its geometric design is generously contemporary and it’s function quite obvious. Why would this kind of shape lock bikes exclusively? From this standpoint and keeping in mind both the original aesthetic and purpose of this existing object, we transposed it into another category : domestic furniture. The symbolic behind locking an object conveys the ideas of assembly, sturdiness and safety, which is what we wanted to translate by designing a glass shelf; fragile at first sight but securely assembled with the help of two padlocks: a ready-made object for a steady-made product.

Orphism Mirrors is a series of mirrors designed by Montreal-based studio mpgmb. With its bold geometric forms, bright colors and exuberance, the Orphism collection is an ode to the Art Deco movement and Sonia Delauney’s body of work. A pastiche of many different styles, the multi-function mirrors are modern geometric abstractions which combine curvilinear forms and sharply defined outlines with a reminiscence the 20s decorative art style. In addition to their primary function, the pieces also feature a shelf and knob so it can also be used as an entry way or bedroom organizer.

Apartamentai Vilniaus is a minimalist apartment located in Vilnius, Lithuania, designed by Kristina Lastauskaitė-Pundė. The apartment is characterized by brass volumes that form a portion of the walls and ceiling as well as some of the fittings. Herringbone floors mixed with the structure’s original moldings and archways maintain its classic look while the rest of the space is contrasted with modern accents. The furnishing follows this principle of contrast by mixing classics with modern styles.

Okito is a minimalist chair created by Berlin-based designer Läufer & Keichel. Okito is a stackable multi-purpose chair featuring an innovative design. The chair can be fully disassembled into its individual parts and packed flat for shipping. At the heart of the innovative design is the solid wood seat. Through the integrated, CNC-milled contours for connecting the essential parts and components, it represents the focal point of the entire static structure. The steel backrest support and frame are incorporated as two separate legs that are simply bolted in place. Besides the ergonomically moulded solid wood features – seat and backrest – the loop frame performs the function of a backrest support and improves your sitting comfort significantly. The backrest not only adapts gently to the movements of the back, it also follows the rotations of the upper body. The solid wood parts are brought to life using cutting-edge CNC milling technology.

Brass Butter Knife is a minimalist butter knife created by Sydney-based designer studiokyss. With the idea between, decorative & functional and the ability to transcend both craft & design mediums, Kenny of Studiokyss is interested in creating work that has the ability to interact physically and emotionally with the users, essentially giving longevity to the object. The butter knife is characterized by plated brass handle that oxidizes over time, creating a unique patina for each user.

Apartment CC52 is a minimalist apartment located in Barcelona, Spain, designed by Paola Bagna + Obba Arquitectura. The apartment required a complete refurbishment, redistributing the interior space, updating the building services and fenestration. The client wished to change the original layout, made up of a several smaller spaces with poor natural lighting, to create a more spacious and light-filled plan with ample integrated storage. A central storage nucleus was conceived around one of the load bearing walls in the depth of the plan. Additionally, two load-bearing walls were punctured structurally to create a looped circulation route around this central storage core. This move fulfilled the client’s wishes by creating elongated vistas from one end of the apartment to the other, redistributing daylight throughout the depth of the plan and increasing the sense of space overall.

Full height sliding doors were chosen to allow for flexibility in the overall spatial dynamic of the apartment, and to increase the transition of daylight and continuity from one area to the next. In doing so, the client or her guests can continually configure the apartment to suit their individual spatial needs, as required. Intimacy and practical division of areas such as the bathroom / WC / kitchen / bedroom / study or guest room are made possible through these movable partitions. A neutral and light reflecting white based color pallet was chosen for the interior surfaces to amplify the mirroring of daylight and feeling of airiness throughout. This coupled with the sliding doors, the oak wooden flooring and artificial lighting arrangements gives the composition a balanced sense of warmth.

V33 is a minimalist collection of furniture created by Berlin-based designers VAUST. The first collection V33 gathers inspiration from ancient Greek myths, temples and the goddess of love and beauty – Aphrodite. The selection intends to enable a perception of cultic and symbolic objects through a contemporary and highly aesthetic scope. A clear and brutalist formal language sets the common ground on which ageless and modern materials interact. The geometrical designs do not unveil a specific purpose or meaning. Instead, they acclaim an eternal dialogue – between resources, between the objects, between object and viewer. A dialogue in a distinctive and unexpected tone of voice.Since Aphrodite is not only known for love and harmony, but also for darker forms of desire, for recklessness and independence and unlimited dedication, V33 inhabits this creative tension field. In a provoking and sexy manner, the collection explores the interrelation of space, object, human and divine presence. Bold and dark surfaces meet see through and shining materials to form a tempting composition. Dark marble and stained black oak dance around grey acrylic glass and manually polished brass.
