]]> I got to know Kim and Anthony at our snowy engagement shoot a few months before their wedding.  Before their shoot we had never met, but we instantly bonded, and I credit them with introducing me to my fiance (through a roundabout way ;), so I will forever love these two!!

Their wedding was such a fine, elegant affair at one of my favorite wedding Venues, The Golf Club at Newcastle.  As a Seattle Wedding Photographer, I’ve seen many stunning events, but this one was just off the charts.  From Kim’s Haute Couture Galia Lahav gown and Jimmy Choo Shoes to Anthony’s sick Hugo Boss threads, gorgeous flowers by Flora Nova Design and don’t even get me started about the Cake by Honey Crumb Cake Studio.  The event was luxuriously styled by Claire Nelson of Simply Tamara Nicole.   The beautiful grounds at Newcastle never disappoint, and the clouds provided us with an EPIC once-in-a-lifetime stormy sunset session.  I wish these two many bliss filled years ahead!

Some words from the Bride:

How we met:
We met through a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel, our first date was at Revel in Fremont. We met for drinks and hit it off right away.

Proposal:
Anthony planned a surprise weekend get away for us, he told me that we were going away with a few of his friends so that I wouldn’t be suspicious. We ended up driving down to the Kenmore seaplane airport located in South Lake Union. We arrived about an hour prior to our flight, so he took me to walk around the waterfront and take in the views. Anthony had scouted out the perfect spot to propose with a photographer that he had hired to hide and capture everything. After we got engaged, we had a mini engagement photo shoot and then hopped on a seaplane to Friday Harbor. We spent the weekend celebrating together in Friday Harbor!

]]> They met like so many do these days (present company included), online, and Diane knew he was a keeper when on the second date, Brandon brought a stuffed animal for her dog.  Talk about winning over the loved ones in her life, swoon! Always adventurous, they spent the next few seasons exploring the globe together, with Brandon finally proposing on the top of a mountain in Chile during a ski trip. Among foggy goggles and snow landing on their lashes, they said yes to love and started planning their affair on the laidback gardeny isle just off the coast of West Seattle at Froggsong Gardens.  Their Vashon Island Wedding was a day filled with emotion and surprises, love and life, and it ended with a final frame under the stars of the PNW sky (my fav end to amazing days like this!!).

]]> A fortuitous meeting set the stage for the beginning of a marvelous romance.  Hope and Eric met through friends at dinner. It was not really a double-date setup, but ended up as one! The proposal went like this: conservatory plant walk, then asian art museum and dinner at Capitol Hill’s Adana Japanese restaurant.

The cute little neighborhood of Ballard set the scene for not only their budding relationship, but for their wedding weekend as well. They couldn’t wait to share their favorite haunts with out-of-towners and document some of their favorite spots on their wedding day!  These two really are a super sweet and fun couple, and total pro PNW pros!  This fact was proven by their rainy bridal portraits at Discovery Park.  Who was I to stand in the way of taking an adventure down to the forest and the sea? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my couples are major fun-havers and the absolute coolest!

From the start, they yearned for a wedding that felt like a warm, intimate dinner party. Hotel Ballard’s Olympic Rooftop Pavillion was the perfect spot for such an affair, and every little detail successfully aided in making their dream come to life.  The guests were treated to the most delicious family-style dinner catered by Stoneburner, and the event was beautifully coordinated by Marie Perez of Love Theory Events. Their guests enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop at sunset and all the love in the room at this beautiful, sparkling affair!

]]> How cool is this couple?  Aside from being drop dead gorgeous and impeccably styled for their wedding they are super cool to boot!  Olivia fronts a cover band and she met Neal when his brother auditioned for it!  Over the following months they checked each other out and the rest is history. I think it’s so sweet that he proposed at their favorite restaurant where they had their first date in Tacoma.

As for their wedding, it was such a chic but laid-back event!  One of the most important things to them that day was to have fun and not have to rush, and that feeling paid off big time. You can see the love between these two as they both were overcome with emotion during the indoor ceremony at The Golf Club at Newcastle.  They opted to have their first look on the aisle and it didn’t disappoint. Portraits in the gorgeous low light of a summer evening followed, where Olivia simply shined in her Couture Berta gown and Christian Louboutins.  All in all, I’d say these two have a bright future, and I’m honored to have gotten to see their brilliant beginning!

]]> I first met Anna and Allen at her sister Donna’s wedding, then again at their other sister Jenny’s wedding. To say I love this family is an understatement: 3 portrait sessions, 3 weddings, brunch in Seattle, drinks in Palm Springs, and a baby shoot later, we were fast friends. I am still working on the plan to be permanently adopted into their family, but I digress. Let’s look at their gorgeous springtime wedding at the foundry! Anna and Allen met at work. Oddly enough, their friends set them up via a lunch date, and it WORKED! Here we are, a few seasons later, and they’ve planned a gorgeous springtime wedding here in Seattle!

Always the pranksters, we left a little gift in Allen’s shoe. We won’t say what’s on the front of the card, but just know we’re ready at the drop of a hat to drop one on you. The light in this stairwell is to die for. It’s one of my favorite spots to shoot in Seattle with it’s modern architecture and 3 story high windows! How cute are these little flower girls? They couldn’t be more into uncle Allen! Why yes, that IS a camera-shaped flask the bride is holding. If we only knew where she got it… 🙂 Seattle’s famed cherry blossoms made a gorgeous backdrop for Anna. Was there ever a more idyllic spring wedding portrait?
Synonymous with springtime is a little bit of mud. Yes, mud on the Manolo’s… I love our clients’ senses of adventure!
Anna had a bowling ball groom’s cake made in Allen’s alma-mater. How cool is that! One final suprise for her groom: a late night hot dog cart!

]]> couple_kissingWell aren’t we the luckiest! Not only have I known Chelsea for all the years (I shot her mom’s wedding a few years back, too), but the gorgeous Mt. Rainier National Park is just a few of hours from the cities we all call home!  They have fond memories of the wind in their faces, the sun on their back, and the bugs in their teeth when they competed in the RAMROD Ultimate Cycling Marathon around the mountain earlier in the year. We hopped in the car one hot summer day this August and found some beautiful spots to hike, explore, and make images. Not only was it a gorgeous setting to explore and learn about, but we had a blast while we were at it. Pro tip: never leave home without some serious bug repellant, here, folks!couple_walking_down_pathcouple_nuzzling couple_walking_down_pathI love Chelsea and Ryan’s casual, adventurous, fun spirits! I don’t know how we managed to spend all day gallivanting around the mountain paths, but we did!couple_skipping_down_path couple_walking_down_path nuzzling_at_mount_rainierWe happened upon this most gorgeous valley of wildflowers and had to take a minute to just listen to the buzz of the hillside.
