Class ...... Try it

noreply@blogger.com (Pana) — Sun, 16 Mar 2014 02:01:00 +0000

Please do not let your emotional run your life. You must learn how to control your thoughts, and how you react to situations. Sometimes class is knowing when to lose the battle to win the war. I have learned and still learning well rather trying to apply this very method in my everyday life. Class is knowing your worth and keep it moving. I'm just saying. Food for thought.

Spiritual Awareness

noreply@blogger.com (Pana) — Mon, 10 Mar 2014 16:09:00 +0000

I am so amazed at the person who I have become and still transitioning to. I am grateful for all the things that happened and is happening in my life. I truly now believe that for the most apart you will receive what you put out. Even though you might not always get it from the people you think you should. Being grateful and looking at the positive in your situation will do wonders. Keep calm stay focused that is the #labellalife way.

Standing next to float alongside Dreemkacher Eclectic

La Bella Morenita received the honor to participate in the Puerto Rican Day Parade. As a Latina myself it was very important for me to show support and promote my business in the Latin community. My business partner Raygrid Calderon Ceo of DreemKaCHer Eclectic accompanied me on the float alongside our sponsors Las Vegas Parties Hard, Vinnie Styles . We were across from CocaCola, and
in front of the Department of Sanitation Hispanic Society Division. Puerto Rican sensation Frankie Negron was also on our float entertaining the crowd. Our float also made television which I am proud of especially since it was two networks. I want to give a special thanks G5lyfestyle and D2 Auto for supporting us . The crowd was very receptive as La Bella Morenita giveaway special edition LBM pr parade t shirts. I am blessed to continue to live my dream, promote and grow my company from a mere thought. Thank you to everyone that has supported La Bella Morenita in anyway I appreciate you guys very much. To my sponsors thank you very much for allowing my company to be apart of your event I appreciate it greatly.

A fan of his word, Not just his words

noreply@blogger.com (Pana) — Tue, 15 Jan 2013 20:22:00 +0000

He is ranked as one of the most influential rappers in history. A political firebrand, a poet, a father and a tongue twisting genius but in a recent interview I was lucky to sit in with A. DeCurtis and learn some things outside of the obvious public and structured pre thought responses given by such a talent. The interview gave Nas a platform to emphasize the authenticity of Life Is Good. He mostly reiterated the “stay true to yourself” mantra as per usual. Nas appeared open and honest, especially when discussing the lack of belonging he feels when visiting both childhood friends in his old Queens neighborhood and industry contacts in Hollywood. The evening felt like a late night television interview. He touched for some time about his relationship with Amy Winehouse, his spiritual thoughts and his feelings about being some what public about his family through music and how it has effected his relationship directly with those involved.

I was surronded by die hard Nas fans, hip hop enthusiast and serious bloggers. Don't get me wrong I enjoy his music, respect his talent enough to buy his music legally but some of the things he touched on I wasn't familiar with ie; his favorite songs he has written: Black Zombies and Star Wars but nonetheless I still felt intrigued because he spoke about these things with passion and great wittiness. It wasn't so much the blatant answers he gave but the story to reaching to those repsonses. He said "I'm notoriously known for choosing bad beats so in turn I don't make many "hits" but thats not what drives me" Its lyrical content. I'm no rap savant but its pretty obvious Nas' first work much like many influential still popular artist have no format or structure in songs. The rhymes go on and on with no real breaks, loops or chorus. I can respect that. The art within the craft is admirable.

I didn't focus on the Grammy talk, the "Daughters" process, the feelings of divorce, the controversy behind his child support issues or his environment growing up and still managing to become the provider and talent he is today. Everyone has a story. Most are interesting, intriguing and inspiring. Regardless of the scale of pain and ambition, what I took from the interview and what I mostly intake from getting to know anyone for that matter is how all those hurdles, obstacles and great succession one receives physically they can still keep a balance within themselves and remain humble. Also in this specific instance I paid close attention to his enthusiasm when speaking of his craft.

It is common for a fan to lose interest after seeing their inspiration on television, interviews or in their comfort zone but Nas gained one with me. A true intellect, witty and I see the growth from Kid Wave to Nas and thats whats truly inspiring, GROWTH.

"Rule No. 1 is you can't be fake. If you're fake, you become a gimmick and you're selling a gimmick; a little gimmick is cool, this is entertainment. But when you base your stuff on mostly real stuff, you never run out of it because every day is a different adventure." - Nas

Realist Shit I Ever Wrote

noreply@blogger.com (Pana) — Sat, 28 Jul 2012 02:27:00 +0000

You were my Neo, short days endless nights.

My first in many ways, too smooth your own good

or should I say mine!

It was wrong from the start, something forbidden yet so necessary.

You came at the right time elevated me to

a higher level, but at the same time

did the most damage.

This heart will never heal, broken beyond repair.

Having half of you is like

being a crack

addict only allowed one hit off of the pipe.

You tried your best but,

your demons are too strong.

Your taste for addiction and lust kept us

apart.

The greatest friend I will ever have,

The greatest lover I never had

The girl is now

a woman

The man is still only half in some ways.

She roams the world alone

while

he has the world on his shoulders.

No one will ever understand

her pain or his.

Perfect match but timing is off. Timing will never be

right when You're not neo.

Days are now shorter priorities differ.

She yearns for depth, intensity, passion

and

someone to reciprocate the same consistency.

Wow consistency

No better yet most of all Stability.

She never had any

it's important

He wants his cake and it too,

unfortunately it is no longer an option.

A good man still,

but she isn't good enough.

She gave numerous chances, he accepted w/ no sign of change.

So she pulls out of the race.

Finally at peace with the past, just wanted a future.

She will never love another

ever !

The loyalty will always remain for the one

who got away,

and broke her heart

indefinitely.

The realest shit I ever wrote.

Pynk Magazine

noreply@blogger.com (Pana) — Thu, 19 Jul 2012 16:00:00 +0000

Mecca & Pana

Speedy & Meeka Claxton w Meeca of Pynk Mag, Devon of Bleu Mag

I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Mecca of Pynk Magazine. We had a meeting while we were suppose to be bowling at friends Meeka and Speedy Claxton's house. By the time I arrived, the business meeting had already started so I dived right in. I gave my input while also listening and taking in some new information. I learned quite a bit. My first impression of Meeca was very cool, down earth, about her business and knows her shit ! After spending some time with her I realized that she is vibrant, blunt, articulate, genuine, among other things. Needless to say I fell in love off the first meeting. Her vibe was that dope. She is a true La Bella Morenita .

Name 5 things that people do not know about you ?

That I am Nice , Nice, Nice, Nice, Nice, Nice, Nice !!!!! People think I am crazy lol.

What inspired you to start Pynk Magazine ?

Pynk ! I have been a publicist for a lot of years, and after doing PR I went to Europe for a little to work on a project. I was over there for a little over a month. I usually go to Europe about 2 months out the year. Trace has a network out there and when I saw that I am like yo this is .....OK like they made a huge staple and now they have a huge network. I wanted to create something I felt that can live on way beyond the magazine. Something that can just keep going. I was already doing PR for Bleu Magazine. Devon and I already had a business relationship. On a personal level we are complete opposites lol. We were able to come together and partner up since there was already a relationship and from there Pynk was born.

What has been your favorite interview in Pynk Mag so far ?

We had a lot a lot a lot of fun with Tamar and Vince. Tamar Braxton is actually on the current cover of Pynk Magazine for our summer issue. She is everything you see on t.v but nothing like what you see at the same time. They are the sweetest most humble couple ever. That's a different type of money right there. Vince is so cool and easy breezy. I remember when we were shooting her and Vince called up Nick Cannon, we previously shot Nick for Bleu Magazine. Nick said he had such a great time working with us and we were a real cool crew. I think they always kind of recognized what we were doing. We kind of made a splash when we started but that was one of the moments when I was like OK they enjoyed working with us and I am glad they enjoyed it. Tamar and I had fun together and she is really cool.

She is a fellow Pisces

Yes she is (laughs)

What advice would you give to other women aspiring to start their own business ?

Believe in yourself, Most importantly believe in your movement !! Follow your dreams and don't wait! Do not feel like it is difficult! Yea, I want you to make money and to work these other jobs. Be true to what it is you want to do exactly. Believe that dreams really do come true. I never thought that I would own a magazine. When I was in school, I wouldn't have that I would be a magazine owner. I thought I would be next Janet Jackson lol. But I am here and in a great space and I am happy about it.

What is your fashion must have at the moment ?

Blazers! I am all about blazers. I am a shoe girl til I die !!! In my house I have a whole room of shoes. Real fly shoes. I am also about cool accessories. We have pynk accessories now. We have t-shirts anything fly everything pynk .

What / Who is your biggest influence right now ?

My biggest influence as far as person right now is Michaela Angela Davis she is a former fashion editor and activist. She she works with BET. I do not think Michaela realizes what kind of a big deal she is . We just did a piece on her for a segment called Watch Her Work. When I have conversations with her I am in awe. I want to take all of this information in. If there was anyone that I would want to emulate and admire it would be her. She is so positive and has a great attitude. She just has a great vision on where urban culture needs to go and where African American woman need to go. She even has a mentoring program .

We also did a piece on Dia Simms, EVP of Blue Flame. We did a piece on her for Watch Her Work. Amazing Woman! She has been able to do amazing things within a short period of time. I do not think people give her enough credit for what she has done with Puffy, Bad Boy and Ciroc.

As far as company and businesses, I am a fan of all of my now competitors Vibe, Jones Magazine, Honey etc. We remixed these magazines and I think we bring a fresh perspective. I want to keep the momentum that Honey used to have. Honey and Suede were magazines that made me think that I could be a cool black girl. Our tag line at Pynk is : Pretty, Powerful and Provocative but I want people to read my magazines and go to my website and feel that way.

Thank you so much for taking the time meet with me I appreciate it

No problem at all
