Second last of my fireworks photos for now, did I say the previous was second last? I might have been mistaken.

These must have had some crazy spinning action in them ’cause they are weird!

Doesn’t this one just feel festive? It makes me want to dress up and drink cocktails or something silly and fun like that.

Yep, more fireworks!

I just love the crackling sound those crackle/sparkle fireworks make! They came out unexpectedly in the photograph, but nicely complimented by the blue one, I thought. What do you think?

This is the second fireworks shot I’m posting from this year’s Granny Smith Festival. The portrait shots were definitely better framed than the landscape one.

I love this one! I have no idea why or how the light trails are all bumpy like that, but I’m sure it has nothing to do with camera shake or settings; that particular firework was actually sporadic in the way it sparked. Totally cool!

It’s that time of year again! My attempts at photographing the fireworks this year were somewhat more successful than last year, I think you’ll agree. A significant part of that was arriving on time and setting up my tripod, rather than getting there after the fireworks start and trying to photograph them while running down the street.

This was the first good image I got before I decided turning my camera to a portrait framing was a much better option. This one is pretty much at the start of the fireworks and even though the framing is far from perfect, I kinda like it: I think it’s all the colours.

More (and better) shots in the days to come!

I was out for dinner in North Sydney with family last night and was driving home by myself. My husband is away with work, so with no one to come home to I figured I’d take advantage of my new 24mm lens and the tripod in the car and take some night shots. Silly me: the bit of the tripod that screws into the camera was at home, so I had to hold the camera on the top of the tripod. So I didn’t get the ideal exposure, but it’s still a pretty outlook.

Check out the birds (or bats?) flying around the top of the nearest pylon!

I understand where they got the inspiration for those iPod ads now… This is the last photo I’ll post from the album launch.

This is Cedric; one of the three guitar players in Garage Hymnal. Some very nice solos came from him.

I really didn’t change the colours of these Garage Hymnal photos. It’s pretty interesting how the camera responds to the concert lighting. I’m pretty sure this is not what my eyes saw, but the camera can only see so much light.
