This will be the last post here on KPOP JJANG 짱 for awhile. We have made this decision after much discussion to put this blog on hiatus as we are all very busy at the moment. MBLAQ reveals an episode where they wanted to call singer Rain by ‘father’.

MBLAQ said during an interview with Monkey3, “We feel really uneasy with out Rain hyung. His existence is like that of a father. And there was once we call him that and he said ‘How much is our age difference that you are already calling me that?’. Rain hyung don’t like to be called a father. With that we just called him by hyung.”

MBLAQ also revealed, “All of our members listen to f(x)’s ‘Chu’ everyday. Even though the song is good, we don’t have other designs (motives).”

Singers Park JinYoung and Jewelry Seo InYoung will transform as new family members for 2 days 1 night.

They both have appeared for the filming for SBS Family Outing from 30th November till 1st December as guest appearances.

According to a staff from the production team, “Park Jin Young and Seo InYoung have participated in filming of Family Outing. It is rare for Park JinYoung to appear on variety shows even though he has appeared many times on talk shows, and he showed his hardworking side during filming. Seo In Young also showed her ’sense’ for variety show during the filming.”

And regarding if Seo In Young was standing in for Park ShiYeon who has temporarily left the group due to health reasons, the staff revealed that Seo In Young is joining purely as guest appearance.

This episode of Family Outing featuring the 2 will air on 13th December.

–What’s it like to have your comeback after a year and 5 months?
▲ It’s been a while so it’s really nerve-racking.

–What type of song is ‘Wedding Dress’?
▲ A R&B song. It’s a sad song about watching the girl you love in a wedding dress, getting married to someone else. Teddy hyung has written lots of tracks, but I really liked this one so I pestered him to give it to me. (laughs)

-I heard you helped compose ‘Wedding Dress’?
▲Teddy hyung made the track, I just put in the melody. I had been thinking of composing a little for a while now because if you contribute to the composition of the song, it helps you understand what type of voice and tone sound good with it. Teddy hyung suggested it so I took the opportunity.

-How did it feel to contribute to the composition?
▲It was like getting someone else’s sketch and colouring it in the way I wanted to. It took a lot longer than just recording my voice to a song that had already been finished by someone else. I think this was because I tried lots of different things, like when you’re colouring in.

-What kind of advice did Teddy give you?
▲He said that when I make the melody, I have to make it portray lots of different feelings so that whoever listens to it doesn’t get bored. Aside from receiving advice, just watching him do his work was a huge help to me. He’s the person who’s influenced my life the most this year.

–How did he influence you specifically?
▲Before we started promoting in Japan, I spent just about every day with Teddy hyung. We weren’t very busy at the time, so, after practice I would go straight to Teddy hyung’s studio. I would watch him do his work and in his spare time we would talk about music. This is how ‘Wedding Dress’ and ‘Where U At’ were made. I even slept in the studio, in this little bed that Teddy hyung regularly uses. Now that I think about it, I was probably disturbing him quite a lot. Sorry. (laughs)

-The Taeyang in ‘Only Look at Me’ was a bad boy, and in ‘Wedding Dress’ a pure one. What’s the real Taeyang like?
▲‘Wedding Dress’ is more like the real me. I’ve loved before, but it’s always ended as one-sided love.

-Do you want to date?
▲Yes. President Yang keeps telling me to please get a girlfriend now too. But although I get lonely when I’m not working, I don’t think about it much when I’m really busy.

–Don’t you get lonely when you’re busy? It must be stressful.
▲When I get stressed, I just sleep. I’m the type of person who’s always thinking so I just sleep when I’m stressed, otherwise I tend to overthink everything. Alternatively, I listen to music or spend time with my dog. I get a lot less lonely when I’m with my dog.

-How important is Boss to Taeyang?
▲Very important. He’s not just a pet dog. At the moment, I can’t meet people and exchange love and friendship so Boss tends to fill up those holes in my heart. I can love him no matter what and he will always look only at me. If I didn’t have Boss, I think my personality would have become really cold and harsh.

–You seem to have put a lot of effort into your choreography. What is dancing to TaeYang?
▲I dance because I like music. To me, music and dancing are one. Neither one of them is more or less important. Whenever I do a pre-recorded performance, I ask my fans to please be quiet. It seems selfish and I’m sorry to my fans, but I just love singing and dancing to my music on stage and I want to concentrate on that moment.
There was this time when we did a surprise broadcast of ‘Where U At’ and during the pre-recorded filming, my fans didn’t make a sound. It made me wonder if they were even breathing. I was so thankful that they understood me, but also very sorry.

-Your first solo album ‘Hot’ did so well. Does this pressure you at all? What did you earn from your last solo activities?
▲I didn’t feel pressured because of ‘Hot’, but because this new album will be a full album, I kept thinking that I have to show my style as well as make music that fits the time we’re in. I like classical music, but I’m young so I can’t just ignore the current trends.
When I’m working as a solo artist, I feel so much more accomplishment and satisfaction. Since Big Bang is a group, working together with the other members always comes first.

-What if the type of music you want to do clashes with the type of music that’s popular with the people?
▲What I want to do usually comes first. (laughs) President Yang is always generous about that kind of thing because he knows that I do the best when I’m doing what I want to. But that doesn’t mean I want to be stubborn in my musicianship. My dream is to make music that everyone can listen to and love. It’s very hard, though.

-What you want from yourself?
▲Well, my name’s Taeyang so I always want to be overflowing with energy. I want people to be moved and comforted when listening to my music and I also want to become more passionate.

-To your fans that have waited for you, and will continue to wait?
▲I’m sorry that I don’t have a really talkative personality and that I’m not performing on stage much. But I will return your love by making great music worth the wait. Oh, and be careful not to catch swine flu.

They were awarded at the ’17th Korean Cultural Entertainment Awards’ on the 30th of November from 5pm at Seoul, YeoUiDo 63 City Hall. The ‘Adult Music’ award went to Jang YoonJung. The ceremony was hosted by singer and composer Jung WonSoo, singer Ha MyungJi, 2007 Miss Korea Park GaWon, MC Shin YoungIl and celebrity Han DaMin.

SNSD won the ‘Teen Musical Artist’ award, along with FT Island, NoRaJo and performed a celebratory concert. Song SeungHun was awarded the ‘Talent’ award. Kim NamJoo was awarded
the high distinction ‘Talent’ award.

Yoon SangHyun and Yoon SungEun received excellence awards, Lim JooHwan and Cho SeungJoon won the ‘Male Newcomer’ awards, Yoo HaNa and Cho JungSun won the ‘Female Newcomer’ award. JinHyuk, director of SBS ‘Glory of the Family’ won the ‘Drama Director’ award.

In the film category Sul KyungGoo was bathed in glory as he won the excellence award.
SooAe was the runner up, JinGoo and Choo JaHyun won the ‘Male Female Couple’ award, Kim NamGil and Park BoYoung won the ‘Newcomer’ awards. Kim YongHwa director of ‘National athlete’ won the ‘Director’ award.

Kim ByungMan and Jung JooRi won the highest ‘Comedian’ award, Heo KyungHwan and Han MinKwan won excellence awards. Oh NaMee won the ‘Newcomer’ award.

Oh no! What could possibly be wrong?

A fan account of this week’s recording of Strong Heart has been going around and it’s got a lot of people buzzing.

On a segment of the show, SNSD / Girls’ Generation leader Taeyeon allegedly revealed that she was going through a lot of struggles and hardships as SNSD’s leader and has decided to step down from her position as leader and take on the role of a normal member of SNSD.

Of course being the leader does not bring any privileges or rights, but as we all know (see 2PM) a leader is necessary for every group both physically and emotionally. Will someone step up to take the role or will the 9 girls operate as one unit and stay leaderless?

Keep in mind that this is all just a rumor so far, but the news is getting quite a bit of attention.

One of Korea’s big entertainment agency, YG Entertainment, well-known through popular idol artists such as Big Bang, Seven, and 2NE1, falls into another crisis.
Currently, 3 people are being kept in the police station for stealing the payments of the stars under YG Entertainment, including, Big Bang and 2NE1. The amount totals up to about 2,500,000 dollars.

These people who had been working in YG Entertainment as managers and secretary starting taking the money since 2004 and including last year, they were able to continually take money from the big business for 4 years eventually totaling up to 2,500,000 dollars. Other than that, they are also known to have used the money for personal investing fees in stocks and also for their daily lifestyle.

After playing After School’s new track “Because of You” prematurely on Taeyeon’s “Chin Chin Radio,” MBC radio demanded an apology from Pledis for a vicious attack on their station.

Radio stations usually get the tracks before the actual release so that they can review lyrics and make sure everything is in the clear before airing the track after the release, but obviously someone didn’t get the memo.

On the 24th, Pledis released a formal complaint saying, “MBC FM4U prematurely aired After School’s new single “Because of You” on Taeyeon’s “Chinhan Chingu (Best Friend) Radio.”

Pledis also claimed that because of the leak, the track quickly spread all over the web and caused heavy losses.

However, MBC demanded an apology for the attack.

On the 23rd MBC released a statement saying, “Because the formal process was followed, there should have been no problem with airing the track. Pledis has been unfair in their defamation of our radio.”

Pledis responded on the 30th by saying that the examination schedule had not been followed on their part and that they are very sorry for questioning the integrity of MBC.

Aww, what a nice kiss and make up story. Hopefully all is well and there won’t be any hard feelings between Pledis and MBC.

Actress SooAe and SS501 Kim HyunJoong will meet in a movie.

A movie staff said on 30th November, “SooAe and Kim HyunJoong has been casted for the movie ‘You are my pet’ as the female and male leader characters. The movie will be directed by Kim ByungGon.”

The movie is about an episode of a beautiful and talent fashion magazine editor’s ‘cohabitation with a pretty boy. SooAe will be playing the fashion magazine editor and Kim HyunJoong will be the ‘pet’ flower boy.

Kim HyunJoong’s agency said, “We have not finished the process of signing the contract. But we will confirmed everything by middle of the year.”

The movie is an adaptation of 10-part Japanese anime aired in 2003. This will be Kim HyunJoong’s next acting attempt after ‘Boys Over Flowers’ earlier this year.

Tentatively the movie is set to air in 2010

Digital Music Chart: MBLAQ’s Mir and G.O

2NE1 member Park Bom’s solo debut song ‘You And I’ is the best hit song online for the month of November.

According to music portal site Dosirak on 29th November, the song is up #1 on the monthly chart for the month of November. In the cold late-Autumn winter, it seems that this song is just the right song for the mood and has received much love from music fans.

At #2 is Brown Eyed Girls with ‘Sign’, #3 Baek Ji Young with ‘Don’t Forget’ and #4 with Seo In Kook’s debut song ‘Calling You’. It seems ballad is doing well this month.

Finally, the boys of MBLAQ are on Star Golden Bell! That is the one show you get to frequently see rookies on and I was getting impatient waiting for MBLAQ to appear.

On today’s episode, Mir talked about his sister and him. Comedian Kim Tae Hyun said, “MBLAQ’s Mir and Thunder have such cool names. What are their real names though?”

To this Thunder replied, “Mine is a common one, Park Sang Hyun.” Then Mir cracked everyone up by revealing his real name, “My real name is Bang Chul Yong.” Just looking at the spelling of it makes me laugh.

Though he looked embarrassed when he said this he quickly recovered by dragging his sister down with him. When Jun Hyun Moo said, “Thunder is Sandara Park’s brother and Mir is Go Eun Ah’s brother.” Then Mir said, “My sister’s name is nice. It’s Bang Hyo Jin.”

Does designer Andre Kim look like to 2PM TaecYeon?

Andre Kim was featured on KBS ‘Entertainment Weekly’ on 28th November when he was asked ‘Do you know 2PM?’ and he reveals that he knows the group with the answer ‘JaeBummie‘.

After that, Andre Kim got a shock hearing that he look alike to 2PM TaecYeon. It was referring to when he was younger, he looked alike to TaecYeon, and he said, “It’s my honour.”

And on the show, a photo comparing the 2 was shown as evidence of their resemblance.

Andre Kim addressed 2PM on the show, “If you can come look or me, it would be great if we have the chance to do special appearance on fashion show.”
