Are you exhausted and worn out, beat up and beat down, sitting right on the edge of "I quit", and wondering where God is within your situation? Are you pleading for God to take you out of the difficulty or hardship that you are within, wondering why He has not answered? Where is God? Why has He not delivered me? This is a common place that many of us reach throughout our life and unless we understand why this silence from our Father occurs we can often miss the reason for the situation altogether.

We are a people that have been instructed to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, imitating Him in the various aspects of life and purpose. Our savior Jesus, lived a life on a mission to please His Father and was obedient even unto death. Jesus was nailed to a cross, after already going through horrific humiliation and torture, yet He followed through with His purpose and even coming to the point of "Where is God". Jesus himself came to the place where He cried out; "Father why have You forsaken me?" Had God forsaken Him? No, not at all, Father God had to allow Jesus to go through death before He could give His son the victory over death.

Motivation In Ministry

What is the motivation behind your efforts to minister to someone? Are you doing it because it makes you feel good? Are you doing it because it makes you look good? Are you doing it for the attention it brings? Are you doing it because you care about the individual or out of a desire to please God? Only you can answer this honestly just between you and God. The reason for a subject such as this is because we need to understand that the motivation plays an important part in the results. The Bible itself tells us that our own prayers can often go unanswered because we ask amiss or with the wrong motives. If you desire to bear as much fruit in your Christian walk as possible then you must ponder and analyze the motives and intent behind anything that you do. When our motives and intentions are correct than we will create the best possible conditions for our growth and blessing from God.

Letting Go For Him

How many of you have problems? How many of you are in difficult circumstances? How many of you are worn down, beaten up, and weary from the daily struggles of this world? If this is the case then I sympathize with each of you and hope to offer you a truth that has repeatedly helped me and brought me through many a situation or circumstance such as I have described above. Are you ready for this deeply profound and incredible truth? WORSHIP

Sorry, if you were looking for more, but this is the only truth that I have ever found to really help me. It very seldom makes the problem or circumstances go away, but it does change my attitude and perspective about the difficult place that I'm within. To be perfectly honest, there are times that it has changed my perspective and attitude so much that I no longer view the situation as a problem. This is better than God making the issue go away. Instead He gave me the victory over it.

The Arrogance Of Man

Recently, while listening to the radio in my work vehicle I heard something that really caught my attention. It was a small blip, promoting a TV program that was created to show "the role that God has played in the United States over the past couple of centuries". I know, you maybe thinking...so what? It seems like an innocent statement, and the intentions seemed alright as they began to explain the TV program, but then I realized the arrogance of this and I was quite offended by the very thought of "God playing a role." The truth is that it is man that played a role and small one at that.

Further, the men and women involved in this production are very well know in politics and if I said their names most of you would immediately know who I was speaking of. They also profess to be Christians, which made this all the worse for me. So let me explain and clarify why I feel that this is an issue. Why I think this is just another way that man has tried to minimize God.

As we press into a new season in our lives I have admittedly questioned the direction I feel the Holy Spirit is leading. It is not enough to just serve the Lord for me. I want to make sure that the way I serve is exactly how the Lord has directed me to do so. There are many good things that I can do to serve the Lord, but not all of them are the correct things.

We are not looking to start another ministry...there are ministries and churches on every corner. We are not looking to be another set of teachers or preachers...There are many that are far more talented and gifted as orators, public speakers and leaders than we are. Why try to recreate the wheel? Why not have something where God can have His own way, completely organic and unplanned? What if we just started crying out and worshipping Him, creating a throne of praise for the King to sit upon and then allowed Him to rule the service? I think we might find that God would do things a bit differently if He were allowed to direct the service. I think that our services would have an entirely new feel and would have much more variety, which would create a unique experience every time we came together.

I have heard it said many times by pastors and ministers, including myself, that it is "my church". Many have named the ministries that they have started after their own name. Many people have referred to church bodies as being "such and such's "or" so and so's" church. I know many of us say these things without even thinking about what it is that we are saying. So I am suggesting at this time that it is something that we need to be thinking about.

It seems very inappropriate to me these days that we should be calling anything "ours" or "mine". The church body or ministry does not belong to John Doe, but rather to our Heavenly Father. (Acts 20:12) The almighty God is the possessor of all things. (1 Chronicles 29:11, Psalm 50:12, Romans 11:36, Colossians 1:16, ) You may think that this is a bit trivial but the fact of the matter is this, if you say something long enough it will eventually take form and become something that you view as truth.

If you are looking for a goal in life...how about this one; "Be Obedient To The Lord."

So often we get so caught up in doing the so called things of the Lord that we often miss what the Lord has actually directed us to be doing. Many of us will substitute doing activities or ministries of the religious nature for obedience. Still their are others who do neither. Let me ask you this question; "How many of you have taken a moment to consider the other commandments in the scriptures? You know there are many more than just the Ten that we most commonly hear about, in fact, there are over 600 hundred of them.

I know that you have probably heard the saying; "Be holy because I Am Holy". It is a commonly quoted scripture and most likely one that you have quoted yourself, but have you ever just sat down and thought over this verse. We are called to be holy simply because God is Holy.(1 Peter 1:13-16) God created us in His very image therefore it only stands to reason that we should be holy as He is holy. It sounds good, but have we really grasped what this verse is exhorting us to be.

This article may not be exactly what you were thinking but it is, however, the truth. Many may not want to admit or agree with this but that does not change anything, because it will still be the truth. Science was always my favorite subject in school because it tried to explain and make sense of everything we do not understand. I am now 42 years of age with the understanding that no matter how much we think we know, we do not know very much.

Why Does God Allow The Innocent To Suffer?

Why does God allow the innocent to suffer? If I had a nickel for each time I’ve heard this question I think I would be quite wealthy. At the very least it would be a steady stream of income. I'm also relatively sure that I myself have been guilty of wondering the very same in my early walk as a Christian. There are actually many that use this as their supposed evidence to the non-existence of God. Maybe you have even doubted God because of the many things that occur across the globe.

What I would like to do, if you have a few moments to spare, is to offer some thoughts and ideas on this subject. Now I will not pretend to have the definitive answer on this matter but I will attempt to offer something for you to meditate upon and think about. Perhaps this may even change your outlook on God as well.
