Digital Manufacturing

Modern manufacturing equipment is driven by Computer Numerical Control (CNC) interpreting complex code generated by Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. The CAM software develops tool paths for cutting operations directly from the 3D model geometry. Previous to 3D CAM systems, a manufacturer could spend considerable time performing calculations to convert paper blueprints or even 2D CAD files into workable code. Working directly from the 3D model eliminates the risks introduced by human error. The use of CAM software produces code more quickly and efficiently. The performance increase represents a competitive advantage to technologically advanced manufacturers translating to faster turnaround and lower costs to customers.

Commercialization

Commercialization is the process of new product development. The process begins with ideation, continues with design and prototypes, and is completed by manufacturing and sales. In short, the process is from mind to market – translating "know how" and innovation into valuable products. During the commercialization process, companies utilize outside sources to support them with the services and materials necessary to bring the project to completion. Kform has a diverse client base and provides assistance at various project gateways – entry points in the product development process. A passion for innovation, coupled with comprehensive manufacturing services, empowers Kform to assist clients from the “napkin sketch” through to production runs.
