Basically this is my personal diary that I jot down interesting things that is seen on the internet daily. Since September I have been optimizing my blog that target readers of celebrity news and entertainment to take it to one million page views per month. Preparing the blog has been pretty interesting as I have learned a few things, below is a list of what I have been doing to improve the sites user experience, performance and its ability to accommodate one million page views per month.

1. Performance
There were a few performance issues with the blog, initially the site was receiving approximately 80,000 page views per month and on a daily basis it would go down because the shared hosting just wasn’t enough to entertainer the readers. Firstly, I upgraded from shared to a private server as well as implementing a proper cache on the blog. Installed the W3 Total Cache Plugin for WordPress which made a big difference on the load speed. I used GTMetrix to test the load speed of my Entertainment Blog, it is a service that analysis your website/blog page speed using both Google’s Page Speed and Yahoo’s YSlow tools then gives recommendations on how to get your site loading faster. This was my priority due to the fact that Google had just added user experience as a major factor in Search Engine Rankings.

With the upgrade to the private server and adding the cache plugin, I knew this would be enough accommodate atleast 400,000 page-views per month. Now that this was out of the way, I started to concentrate on backlinks from repeatable Entertainment and celebrity blogs.

2. Backlinks
Many bloggers on the internet set aside some money for this each month but why spend when you can simple do link exchange with some pretty good sites. Simple Google sites in the niche of your choice, check out their Pagerank (preferable sites with PR4 and up), then send them a nice email asking to exchange links with your blog. Make sure to list way in which it will profit them and not just your site. If you have a PR1 site please don’t email a PR5 site asking to exchange links that’s just disrespectful in my opinion.

By doing the above two steps, I have manage to take my entertainment blog from approximately 80,000 page views per month to approximately 200,000 page views per month. I am presently implementing other steps as well as repeating step 2 on a daily basis. Will keep you guys updated and will certainly let you know when I have reached my goal.

Yes you have read the topic correctly, Facebook is actually threatening to sue Mark Zuckerberg but not the Mark Zuckerberg you are thinking of. An Israeli entrepreneur who recently took the facebook founder’s name, Rotem Guez legally changed his name to Mark Zuckerberg on December 7, 2011.

Zuckerberg II launched the website called Like Store which sells companies Likes for their brand pages which Facebook deems unethical and threatens to sue. According to his website, MarkZuckerbergOfficial.com, He initially filed a lawsuit against Facebook in January 2011 after the social networking site refused to give him access to his profile, which they had shut down and that’s where everything started. Later than year he changed his name to Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook has threatened to sue Mark Zuckerberg, an Israeli entrepreneur who recently took the social network founder’s name. The new Zuckerberg, born Rotem Guez, legally changed his name Dec. 7.

Zuckerberg II’s website, MarkZuckerbergOfficial.com, states that he first filed a lawsuit against Facebook in January, after the social network refused to give him access to his profile, which it had shut down.

Zuckerberg (all further mentions refer to the Israeli entrepreneur) co-founded Like Store, a social marketing company, which sells companies Likes for their brand pages. The site states (translated), “Are you sad no one’s visiting your Facebook Page? We have a solution! Need 1,000 Likes? We’ll get them for you. Need 5,000 Likes? We’ll get them for you. Need 10,000 Likes? We’ll get them for you.”

In September, Facebook’s law firm Perkins Coie threatened to sue against Zuckerberg, claiming the Like Store violated the social network’s Terms of Service, by selling brands fans. The threat instructed Zuckerberg to shut his company and never return to the social network for any reason.

Zuckerberg officially changed his name Dec. 7. In the below video of his trip to the Interior Ministry to make the switch official, he says he plans to change his family’s names as well. One week later, Facebook again threatened a lawsuit against Zuckerberg’s still existing Like Store. Little did they know, they were threatening someone with the name of their own founder.

Here’s a parody of the Movie “300” in which King Leonidas and only three hundred of his men slaughtered most the Persian army. If you already seen this movie, then you know that the king was killed along with his men but they put up an unbelievable fight. Starz Media LLC has a channel on YouTube where they do Cartoon Parodies of popular movie titles and they did this one titled “How 300 Should Have Ended“.

The parody is pretty funny and if you have seen the movie it’s guaranteed to have you laughing or smiling atleast. The channel on YouTube is called HISHE and they do parodies of just about every hit movie. These guys are very talented, I subscribed to the channel and see just about every video that they have uploaded so far.

Just made a brief visit to John Chow and found this really informative blog post that was done by a Guest Blogger name Ankur Khangaonkar. Basically in the post, he is saying that there’s no better time to start blogging even though we are going through a “Blogging recession.” According to the article, Twitter has killed blogging along with Facebook and new studies are there to show youngsters are more interested in tweeting and status updates than writing a blog post.

Even though the two social networking portal has hypothetically killed blogging, he gave 5 strong reasons why its the best time to blog and I completely agree with the writer. The main one from the five reasons that really made a point to me was number two, which stated that “less bloggers equals less competition“. Check out the excerpt from the article and when you’re done reading remember to go an read the article as well.

“2 – Less Competition

Less bloggers equals less competition. Often in niches like tech reviews people are loyal. They trust a certain blog to give them honest reviews. So if you have less number of competitors in your niche, it becomes easier for you to become the number one in your space. Gaining an authority in a niche is a lot easier. Also the value of your services is more.”

In My Opinion, none of us bloggers should give up on this if you really have the passion for sharing with your readers. I had so much doing that my blog went stagnant for a little bit but i’m back. Have you guys seen the new Facebook Timeline that was just released, to me it looks really similar to MySpace. Now my question; “Is Facebook copying MySpace?“

The guys from the Creative department at Google is once again showing off how high their sense of humor is, they have once again added another Easter Egg and this one falls right in line with the winter season. To experience this new Easter Egg that gives the search engine a taste of Yuletide, simply to a search for “Let it Snow” on Google.

“Let It Snow” works only in browsers that support “Canvas,” part of the relatively new HTML 5 code that many developers use to create new webpages, a spokeswoman said (including the newest version of Microsoft’s browser, IE 9). This is the second Easter Egg to be added within a two month period, joining the “do a barrel roll” that was added back in November.

Gone are the days when you had to mail your list in to Santa because technology has gotten to such an advanced stage that Google decided to give Santa his very own personal number so the little boys and girls can give him a call (855-34-SANTA). This number is opened to both you and your kids to call but we all know Santa is one of the busiest person so you will have to leave him a message.

When I tried calling him this morning, his outgoing message stated that he and Mrs. Claus were going to decorate the tree, but he offered the option to leave him a message so he could listen after they were done decorating the tree. If your child who rather to get a call St. Nick than to leave him a message, then you could set up a personalized phone call by going over to SendCallFromSanta.

Calls can be customized to include where the recipient lives, their name and what they want for Christmas. The site also asks questions about the recipient’s favorite food, what winter holiday they celebrate and what Santa should call the recipient during the call. Call to Santa are free from within the US and Canada but if you are outside of either countries then it will cost US$.01/minute.

Infolinks seems to have found a few reputable advertisers and are in desperate search of publishers as I have received an email to each of the e-addresses that represents each of my blogs. Infolink is an In-Text Ad Network which is similar to Kontera and VibrantMedia, if I can recall accurately this was the first In-text network I ran on my blogs but in my opinion they didn’t have enough advertisers because ads would only show up on my articles rarely. Since then I have switched to Kontera, who surpizes me with a check now and then and VibrantMedia who seems to care about my financial status than even Google Adsense.

Over the course of this week I have received approximately five emails with the topic “We Want to Advertise on Your (‘niche’) Website“. In the email they note that they are presently the network that pays their publishers the highest revenue share at an amazing 70%. They also noted that they now have top advertisers which includes Groupon, Priceline, Blue Nile amongst others. My question is did you guys completely revamp your whole payment system and have new management on-board because I ran your ads for a few months and didn’t even receive a cheque for a measly $100.

In the email it also said that bloggers who have already sign up and receive their exclusive offer have received $10 for every 1,000 views on Infolinks ads. Now this sound pretty tempting, and I am going to see if I can remember my login info and start running Infolink on one of my blogs that receive approximate 3k views per day and see if I will receive a check from them anytime soon. I will keep you guys updated and if you guys want to join me and try this offer out then click on the link and sign up!

Android Developers Training is on, thanks to the Android Team which is perhaps in an effort to attract more developers onto the Android platform. The “Android Training” program was just launched, its still it beta stage but it entails a series of classes that is being aimed at Android (would-be) developers.

The classes will cover certain topics and coach developers how to optimize battery life with their app creations, help with managing audio playback, more effective app navigation and a few more topics. Personally I think this is a wonderful idea and who better to learn from but from the team behind the Android Platform themselves.

The program is still in its beta launch and will kick off with a few lessons but according to the team, more classes will be made available over the coming months. If you are an experienced developer or even somewhat in your early stages, then you might want to check out the few lessons presently available at the Android Training page.

Nokia has announced that one of its first ever Windows Phone, the Lumia 710 will be headed to T-Mobile USA in the beginning of 2012. The Nokia Lumia 710 is the most affordable of the two smartphone unveiled by Nokia back at the Nokia World conference in October. There’s also an high-end brother to the Lumia 710 which has been dubbed the Nokia Lumia 800. The 710 comes equipped with a 3.7-inch ClearBlack LCD Touchscreen display which is a bit less expensive than the AMOLED screen on the Lumia 800.

The Lumia 710 comes with the Windows Phone 7.5 platform pre-installed and is powered by a 1.4GHz Single-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM. The handset gets 8GB of internal storage capacity and also extends support to microSDHC cards up to 32GB. The dimensions of the smartphone makes it an easy carry for the user, it measures 4.69in x 2.46in x 0.49in and weighs in at 4.43oz. T-Mobile’s version of the Lumia 710 is pretty similar to the international version but it extends support to the carrier’s HSPA+ “4G” network and it also comes with some special color options as well.

The Lumia 710 has a 5-megapixel on the rear of the device that utilizes LED-flash in low-lighting conditions, there is a 1300mAh battery that promises to deliver up to 6.9 hours of talk time or up to 16.5 days of standby time from a single charge. Pre-loaded onto the device is Nokia’s new Drive application – the only free turn-by-turn navigation system available for the platform, it gets an exclusive ESPN app that allows the user to pin their favorite team to the homescreen to see updates on the windows live tile. T-Mobile will also be loading on a few apps of its own including; the T-Mobile TV app, the Weather Channel app, and the Netlfix app for Windows Phone on the Lumia 710.

Starting January 11, 2012; T-Mobile will be offering the Lumia 710 to its users for the price of $49.99 with a new two year contract, there will be an option to get the smartphone in black or white and users also get the option to choose if they want personal tech support from Nokia through-out the lifespan of the Windows Smartphone.
